The Duke of Wellington Inn is nestled in the tranquil Tyne valley village of Newton just off the A69 near Corbridge, within easy access to Newcastle, Hadrian"s Wall Country, Hexham and Northumberland's National Park. The décor reflects the traditional country inns history but with a modern twist. Existing oak and stone has been enhanced with modern colours, furniture and fabrics, and the theme extends to the bedrooms.Lunches and dinners are served seven days a week in the bar and dining room. The food provided is traditional British comfort eating to an exceptional standard and makes use of local, seasonal ingredients. A comprehensive range of beers and ales compliments an extensive wine list. The inn experience continues with seven bedrooms providing a very high quality of luxury accommodation.     We had Sunday lunch today 2 adults 1 child. the waitress gave different options for our son and was really helpful and attentive. We arrived early and had a few drinks in the bar which was so lovely with the singer and just such a nice vibe. The dinner today was absolutely the best dinner we have had out, (we usually go to branches or nest) which I still love but we both agreed everything about the food today was next level. The cheese soufflé is divine and everything down to the carrots that I initially whined to my husband that weren’t roasted and looked bland tasted liked they’d been slow roasted with fennel and were amazing. The best Sunday dinner ever and so reasonable for the level of food. Second time here the first time last year was great but not as amazing as today we are coming back next week and probably every week for the foreseeable. Thank you x
