There is nothing like Christmas at the Walnut Room. The tree, the wonderful people sprinkling fairy dust, the themed desserts, the decorations, the nostalgia..... EVERYTHING. I went as a little girl and bring back generations as an adult. It makes me teary being there. Our waitress was great. Reservations right on time. The food..ehh..it is not why you go. Burger was nothing special and the fries were literally cold,cold not even just cold. Most people get the pot pie and salad. I should have tried something a little daring but was in the mood for a burger. It was a smashburger. Next year I will go with the chicken dish! I love it here at Christmas, it is Chicago. So glad they brought back the collector mugs

I really enjoyed my birthday dinner at Pizzeria Portofino. The food was delicious, and the service and staff were great! I can't wait to come back when it's warmer out to enjoy the views, open air and food again.

My wife and I had a quick getaway to Chicago for her birthday. OpenTable booking made it simple to make reservations and any changes. Heads-up, parking will be a challenge so I recommend using valet! Make a reservation ahead of time to guarantee seating. The staff were very great at anticipating the wait time and so we did for 30 min since we arrived earlier. We were seated at the chef’s table which neither of us expected, and was a treat to experience. My wife enjoyed every bit of the good chaos in the kitchen and watching Ted & Kishaun (apologies for typo), prep the food with passion. Service was great all the way around and all the staff were attentive - kudos! The food, this is by far the highlight of the night and the trip! Flavor at its fullest and the portions are ample for two. We had the best empanadas to date, the skirt steak was a hit, and the pork belly was delish. Wrap dinner with apple pie is a a treat on its own. Thank you for making our trip and birthday celebration a memorable one.

The filet, cooked rare for my spouse and medium-rare for me, was quite simply the best we have ever eaten, in a long lifetime of eating steak. Special thanks to Connor for his friendly and attentive service and for his tremendous knowledge of Latin American wines!
