Best Date Night Restaurants in Finchley

Absolutely stunning food both taste and esthetically. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone. The wine is all paired to the amazing sauces of the dishes. We have a Gavi that was probably the lightest and most lemony Gavi we had ever had, but it went perfectly with every single dish we ordered. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and go over and above to help and advise. It is not cheap but it is not the most expensive Japanese I have ever been to. Rai himself comes and says hello. Just perfection in a small, intimate, calming restaurant. Will definitely be going back time and time again.

I finally had the chance to dine at Bocconcino, a place that has been on my must visit list for quite some time. After hearing countless glowing recommendations from friends and family, my expectations were naturally high but I’m happy to say that the experience not only met but truly exceeded them. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere set the tone for a memorable evening. The interior struck the perfect balance between cozy and upscale, with warm lighting and thoughtful decor that immediately made me feel welcome. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring we had a great experience. Every question we had about the dishes was met with helpful and enthusiastic answers. Now, the food absolutely outstanding. Every dish we tried was crafted with care and attention to detail. The flavors were vibrant and well balanced, and the presentation was beautiful without feeling overly fussy. You can tell that fresh, high quality ingredients are a priority here. The highlight for me was the short rib served on truffle mush potatoes, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. To top it off, the dessert was equally impressive a sweet note that ended the meal on a high. I also appreciated the thoughtful wine selection, which complemented the dishes beautifully. Overall, I can see why this restaurant has come so highly recommended. It’s rare to find a place that delivers so consistently on all fronts, ambiance, service, and exceptional food. I’m already looking forward to my next visit and will definitely continue recommending it to others.
