Sassoon was awarded the Military Cross for "conspicuous gallantry" and later won acclaim for his writing. Welcome to The Warren Restaurant, an extension of The Crowborough Estate, holding stock of Sussex Cattle, Boer Goats, Fallow deer, and Wild boar amongst others which the restaurant draws on for its menu. We are a Dog Friendly restaurant. We were the first there for lunch on Tuesday. Service was very attentive without rushing us at all. The food was extremely good and inventive. A very pleasant experience. We’ll make the Union our default place in Rye.
