Since the Romans left, the Italians have been operating a policy of conquering the world's palate, plate by plate, and traditionally-run family restaurants like Cotto are their failsafe. The welcome is unfailingly warm here, the decor is authentic in feel, with murals on the walls, and the pleasures of the table are taken seriously indeed. Cotto is a 5-minute walk from the London Eye and the Aquarium, perfect for before or after family outings and it's also very popular with business customers during the week. There's live music on offer, too.     We went there because of my daughter and wife's celiac condition. The food was great, host and owner was very nice, and someone who also happens to have Celiac, so the preparation for GF food was outstanding, and with no issues of confidence or lack of taste. Looking forward to going again!

    One of my favourite restaurants in London, especially for formal dinners or taking visitors to London there for a nice dinner on the last day of their trip. The location is central and charming, with historic and cultural spots and buildings around. The ambience of the restaurant, located within the classy The Ned, is delightful. The food has been impeccable every time i've visited (so far, i've tried the scotch eggs, salmon, plaise, fish and chips and the cheese souffle). the service is excellent too - the waiters are attentive and quick, without being overbearing. IMO the price is worth the experience too. Bonus is that the lovely live music from the next-door restaurant is audible enough and yet not too loud.
