Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Ashwell

We had a very pleasant lunch in the Orangery restaurant. The staff are welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful. There is a comprehensive menu for all tastes and the food is well presented and delicious. At the end of our meal, we enjoyed a walk around the beautiful garden.

Super value early evening menu, fantastic quality - I had the heirloom and whipped feta salad followed by the saffron risotto - to die for!!!

Great environment and location. Food portions were a bit small and overall very expensive.

We had breakfast at The Fox after a long, early morning frive from Bath. They couldn't have ben nicer and the breakfast was delicious. Our dog was welcomed and watered and the atmosphere relaxed, there was no pressure. The Fox is an old favourite of ours from when we used to live in East Anglia. It's good to know it's as lovely, if not lovelier, as it always was.

Great place for an evening meal with friends. Nice atmosphere, fresh really good food, excellent flavours well balanced. Highly recommend; Albondigas Con Tomate Hand rolled pork meatballs cooked & served in a house made tomato sauce. Pollo A La Miel San miguel beer battered chicken strips, with a honey mustard glaze. Carne Mechada (Gf) Spanish style pulled brisket. Slow roasted in sherry & tomato sauce. And a side order of Pan Y Alioli (V) A basket of warm, ciabatta bread served with our house made garlic alioli. Desserts to die for to finish a perfect meal. We had a table of six. Everyone thought it was first class, from excellent service, food quality and portion sizes. Well priced also.
