- GGilbertWashington, D.C. Area •1 review5.0Dined todayThe food was really good. We did the family table tasting menu, and everything they brought out was delicious. I really liked the oysters. They brought out more dishes than was on the menu. Each of the main dishes had a pre-dish attached to it, including dessert. The service was great; our waitress was super helpful and friendly. The ambiance was very romantic, and the dining area was fairly quiet and calm, so you don't feel the need to shout and can enjoy a nice, relaxing meal with somebody. We enjoyed sitting near the fireplace. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would go there again. One last thing, the tasting menu was reasonably priced with the amount and quality of food you're getting.More infoIron GatePrice: Very Expensive• Mediterranean• Dupont Circle•4.6

While expensive, the beef is of the highest quality and the kitchen does an excellent job of preparing the meat -- as well all the amazing sides that are offered.More infoThe Capital Grille - Washington DCPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Capitol Hill•4.8
- DDanielWashington, D.C. Area •10 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoSometimes the greatest luxury is when something simple is done absolutely flawlessly. Our anniversary dinner at Black Salt fits that description. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. The restaurant is open to individual preferences and tweaks. The food was extremely fresh, cooked to perfection, and delicious. Portions were not huge, but satisfying, and beautifully plated. We had oysters, steamed clams, red snapper and fried Ipswich (belly) clams. The oysters were fresh and they had about eight varieties to choose from. The clams were served in a nice garlicky tomatoey broth. The fish was perfectly grilled and lightly seasoned to bring out the flavor. The sides were delicious in themselves. Every vegetable in a medley of mixed vegetables tasted exactly like that vegetable should taste. I suspect they had been cooked and seasoned separately and then joined together at plating. A purée of turnips and parsnips was light and tasty with a nice parsnippy sweetness. A simple salad was fresh and perfectly dressed with a light house vinaigrette. A cranberry orange flan served with a fresh fruit salad completed the meal. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.More infoBlackSaltPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Palisades Northwest•4.8
