- MMartinVIPPortland / Oregon •105 reviews5.0Dined on Apr 26, 2025Ode to The Anchovy Bar In a corner of town where the sea winds sigh, Lies a heaven for tongues that dare to fly— The Anchovy Bar, where flavors ignite, Smoky and bright, a pure, saucy delight. Snow crab legs piled like a jeweled tide, And toast crowned with anchovy and asparagus pride. Scallops, both smoked and crunchy with zest, Dance with tomatoes—an umami fest. Their wine list sings — atomic dry riesling, oh my! Each glass a new star in a glittering sky. Sip after sip, each pairing a dream, The cool vibe of music like a soft-running stream. The staff are a sparkle, a joke, and a wink, Serving joy with each pour, faster than you think. Playful and wise, they know every story— A toast to the anchovy, the pearl of all glory! We’ll sail back soon, no need to implore, To savor the magic—and order much more. At The Anchovy Bar, our hearts found a key: A smoky, bright anthem of pure jubilee.More infoThe Anchovy BarPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Western Addition•4.8

- TTristanSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews4.0Dined on Apr 2, 2025This is a two-part review: one for drinks, and one for food. Great date night spot, or meet up with friends and especially for people not from SF. If you are going for drinks, I definitely recommend RoR as they have a great selection, and their cocktails were really good. 4 out of 5 stars for drinks as I felt the prices were $2-3 overpriced, and the cocktails were a smidge light on the liquor. If you are thinking of going for the food, PASS. I give it a 2 out of 5 stars. - The tuna crudo was decent, but so very basic. - The hamachi crudo was close to inedible, and had a strong fishy smell with some tasteless, pasty white sauce. - The cous cous was interesting, but uneven in flavor profile and could have used some more creativity around it. Also very basic. - The fried chicken and biscuits were way overcooked and so dry. It looked like they were leftovers and re-cooked, and every table's looked that way. For a $240 dinner with drinks for two, I could have spent less and got way more at a number of joints around SF. But, the views—you are paying for them (and getting room-service grade food.) The outdoor area is really well done and stylish with quality furniture and fire pits and propane heaters throughout. High glass walls keep the wind to a minimum. Nice touch. Will go back for drinks and views, but not the food.More infoRise Over RunPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Downtown / Union Square•4.5
