Best Pre-Theater Restaurants in Gowanus

Disappointed that they got rid of the chips with blue cheese fondue, was my favorite. Lilly won’t come back as a must stop without it.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice meal and some drinks before a local show. Ambience and service were perfect for a relaxed time.

Amazing experience for anyone who’s gluten-free! The food was delicious, and I really appreciated how accommodating they were. Our server was so kind and polite they truly went above and beyond to make my friend’s birthday special with their genuine warmth and thoughtful service. Compliments to both the chef and our server for creating such a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you for making our night so memorable!

Always good to have a meal at The Library. My friend who was visiting from LA absolutely loved coming with me to the Library. Our servers was quite helpful describing the entrees (plus, she provided extra plates so we could share our salad, an appetizer, and our entree. There was background music that we thought was a tad too loud, so how good it was that she accommodated our request to lower the volume (hooray! I personally detest having music in the background, but thankfully, the volume was lowered within less than a minute). The food was delicious — and prepared as we requested. I attend performances frequently at the Public Theater and always want to have a meal before the show. No stress, no worries about timing, what a pleasant place to dine.
