The Michelin Starred, Fordwich Arms, located in the smallest town in England, dates as far back as 1828. Draped in ivory and wisteria in the most picturesque location over looking the Great River Stour, the perfect setting for an idyllic summers lunch. Boasting open fireplaces for the colder winter months, creating a cosy and welcoming ambiance. Daniel and Natasha Smith took over The Fordwich Arms in 2017 and were awarded a Michelin Star within the first year, as well as being in the top 100 gastro pubs in the UK, multiple culinary awards, notable wine awards and various other accredits, a testament to their hair work and talent. The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers. The Valiant Sailor is sat on top of the famous White Cliffs in Capel le Ferne, between Folkestone and Dover next to The Battle of Britain Memorial. It is a traditional family and dog friendly pub with a roaring open fire in the winter. The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner, serving delicious meals and snacks. We have a range beers plus a selection of fine wines, spirits and soft drinks. There is a large beer garden and a spacious car park. The pub is on the North Downs Way and is part of the Woodland Walk and we welcome ramblers and walkers. We also offer free overnight parking for motor homes on the condition that you eat with us; calling ahead to check for availability is advisable during peak season.

Marleys never ceases to provide excellent service and fantastic food. I went on this occasion for a date and the ambience was lovely, the food excellent and the staff were the perfect balance of attentive but respectful of our conversation. We both had the pork belly main (honestly the best thing you can eat in the whole of Folkestone IMO) and my date who hasn’t been to Marleys before was impressed and said he could see why Marleys is my favourite and why I recommended the pork belly. Thank you as always Team Marleys, you rock.
