The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. the breakfast was very bland, no seasoning/flavouring. tomatoes had clearly been standing around a while. we were offered granary bread and white so we had one of each. the granary option was not granary bread, it was more like hovis 50/50 bread, definatly not granary, which was disappointing. these vice was very slow but, the atmosphere and location was perfect.

A lovely place to eat. Staff friendly. We had sunday roasts which were lovely. Of course the location, overlooking the sea, is amazing. We have been twice and will be back.
