Best Kid Friendly Restaurants in Magor

An enjoyable meal in the historic town of Usk. Good steaks from a local supplier along with local beer and cider. Good to see a venue honouring a great scientist who was born in the town.

We had a lovely welcome when we arrived with our dog and were able to sit at our booked table a bit earlier and order easily and quickly. Lots of staff working, all happy and friendly. The bar was busy, as was the restaurant, so some large groups, but all in good humour and lovely to see a pub busy and successful. Our food was really delicious - we did the sharing platter as a starter and it was amazing. Then one chicken dish and one steak, which was very nicely cooked and very tasty. Enjoyed our meal and the pub in general. We have a motorhome and were able to stay overnight in the car park (prior agreed) which was quiet and a good night.

I ordered the veggie main with my roast dinner (pumpkin and Feta Wellington) and it was amazing. The whole meal was beautiful. We were there for Mother’s Day and all the lamb, chicken and beef mains looked great too. The staff were chatty and polite. I didn’t give the top score as I had to chase up my Prosecco as it was forgotten - on Mother’s Day!- but that was literally the only fault I could find with the whole experience. We come back for the Sunday roasts whenever we can, they are such good value for money.
