Food, service, value etc all excellent. However, our meal was marred such that we left our table before dessert, was the arrival at the next table of a diner with a pet dog on her lap. The dog proceeded to snuffle and sniff and lick the table cloth and plates. We did not wait to witness the dog being fed titbits from the table. Maybe that didn't happen maybe it did. Speaking to our waiter when we paid the bill we were informed that the hotel allowed dogs in such circumstances. Other than hearing or guide dogs they should not be permitted within dining areas and certainly not on the diner's lap. Bear in mind this was inside the building, not at one of the outside tables where perhaps a pet dog could be as long as it remained on the ground.

We had a fabulous time at The Hollybush. We had two dogs with us that were made welcome. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly. The cheesecake was indeed incredible! We're not local but when we return to the area we will be back.

The venue is beautiful, the food was delicious and great atmosphere. Staff were very hospitable
