Her ability to adapt, to make the most out of limited resources, and to stay creative while projecting warmth and brightness is the guiding force behind Oma’s Hideaway.Born during the pandemic as a pop-up in the Gado Gado parking lot, Oma’s became a permanent beacon of iridescent light in Portland’s Richmond neighborhood in 2021. The menu draws from Tina’s life story, taking influence from the craveable, soul-satisfying hawker food of Singapore and Malaysia and “turning up the volume” with exaggerated yet balanced flavors in Chef Tom’s signature style. Oma’s serves dinner accompanied by a seasonal list of hand-crafted cocktails and zero-proof drinks.

My girlfriend and I went to Screen Door on Juneteenth this year and had a fantastic experience. We made reservations through OpenTable — even with a short wait, we were seated quickly and comfortably. We started with the cinnamon roll, which was absolutely incredible — rich, warm, and perfectly gooey. I ordered the chicken and biscuit, and she had the Cajun scramble. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. The flavors, the portions, the quality — everything was spot on. As we were eating, we both realized we don’t come to Screen Door nearly enough. The food is phenomenal, the service is attentive and friendly, and the whole experience reminds you why this place is so special. It’s priced like your typical brunch spot, but the food quality is easily 10x better than most places we go. Screen Door never misses. Highly recommend.

Love patio season at OK Omens! The spring menu is fresh and clean, with lots of beautiful seafood dishes. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable - the right balance of easeful and professional. And it should go without saying that the wine list is full of treasures - with incredible menu descriptions to help you navigate and decide. Thank you for being consistently wonderful, OK Omens!
