Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Historic District - South

The upstairs had a large group that was incredibly noisy, but the host did a great job of reseating us downstairs. The waiter was very bossy and at some points I felt like we were getting scolded. It took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine served. Food was delicious, but not as expected (creamy linguine with clams vs traditional oil & garlic Italian style) and chicken piccata wasn’t the traditional style we’re used to in NY, but very tasty. Normally Parmesan cheese is offered when certain dishes are served, but we had to request it.

An unforgettable dining experience at Common! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance and service at Common were exceptional. The real standout of the evening, though, was the short rib dish—absolutely divine. Perfectly braised, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and paired with rich, flavorful sides that brought the whole plate together beautifully. Every bite was comforting, elegant, and full of depth. This dish alone is reason enough to return! Highly recommend Common for anyone looking for a refined yet approachable dining experience in Savannah.

Ambiance, food quality and service are all superb. Chef made sure food was tasty from appetizers to main course and dessert. Perfect Mushroom side dish paired with filet mignon grilled to perfection.
