The marquee area is just right for this time of year, open to the fresh air but sheltered from the Sun and any passing rain shower. The bamboo planted at one side gives it a tropical illusion, and the pleasant open lawn with shrubs is well shielded from winds by well tended high hedges.

We had an excellent meal, celebrating my partner’s birthday. It’s been a while since we’ve been to the Bird in Hand - and the food was really excellent - we had a particularly lovely seafood platter - delicious, creative dishes, presented beautifully. The serving staff are attentive, helpful, and more than happy to advise. The restaurant has a really good open and spacious atmosphere - but the decor is now just starting to look a little tired - but still a very comfortable space to enjoy the excellent food. We must remember to come back more often!

We started with a drink in their beautifully tranquil garden overlooking a lovely water feature and a fish-filled pond. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The menu was, whilst not extensive, varied and well thought through. With just ten tables the staff were able to very attentive. Overall, a wonderful evening.
