The Seven Stars is a 16th century country inn situated in the heart of Surrey, close to both Dorking and Reigate, with Gatwick airport seven miles away. The sunshine helped of course, but we had a lovely lunch-time experience at the Plough at Effingham. It has been newly refurbished inside, with a smart ladies loo, including Bramley soap and hand lotion. There is new wooden furniture at the front and the back garden is calm and sunny with trees and shrubs. I understand that cushions will soon be supplied for the seats. The food was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and we felt very welcome and relaxed.
