Fantastic food and service, quick and very quiet! Couldn’t be more pleased!

Best filet steaks that we have had in a long time. They were cooked perfectly with a good sear. Good ambience but the light is way too dim. Had trouble reading the menu and could just barely see our food. The waiters all had flashlights. We tried the bacon as an appetizer, which as tasty but had lots of fat. We couldn’t see the fat to cut off (wish we had). It would have been much better without all of that chunky fat and in fact was muchbetter the next day as leftovers when we could see the fat to cut off.

We had a fabulous Father’s Day brunch Sunday. Starting with the Independent crab dip with house made rosemary focaccia bread. Then the chef sent out complimentary deviled eggs w/smoked trout roe. PERFECTION. Next we got our entry’s. A perfectly cooked smash burger with crispy French fries and the special which was grilled flat iron steak and eggs. The steak was ordered medium rare and was cooked perfectly and very tender. I loved the house made B-2 steak sauce. We concluded our very enjoyable meal with their famous mile high key lime pie with the table side torching of the meringue. Finally our server Ruthie gave us wonderful personal attention. We enjoyed talking with her a couple of times and what stood out was how much she enjoyed working at the Independent.

Everything was perfect as always. Food, atmosphere and service were wonderful.

The short rib gnocchi and the tuna appetizer were both delicious! The cookie skillet was a great end to our dinner!
