Step inside and be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The space is a blend of modern and vintage, with repurposed furniture and artwork creating a unique and sophisticated ambiance. • Contemporary Canadian • Little Portugal / Dundas West

Bar Vendetta distinguishes itself in a space that had previously been a fairly iconic restaurant, The Black Hoof, with a beautiful (and imposing) Douglas fir ‘glass canopy’ and a completely different, 70s colour scheme, modelled (very loosely) on Jen's teen basement bedroom in Scarborough. Nothing says 70s like brown, orange and cream! We didn’t want it to scream ‘Italian restaurant’ because frankly it’s only Italian-ish, using the philosophies of Italian cooking with locally available ingredients and a strong devotion to seasonality. Our pastas all made in house, by long-time chef, Annalisa Latavo and our front of house team is simply a dream! The sort of secret treehouse-feeling back patio is hugely popular in the summer, but we think of it as the perfect restaurant for a colder evening, cozy for tucking into a beautiful plate of pasta, with one of your favourite songs playing while you have a very nice Italian red.

Excellent(48)
Price: Moderate
• Italian • Little Italy / College St.
Small, hidden and easy to miss, the Bella Vista Trattoria & Wine Bar gives a good dose of flavor in its food, ensuring that diners have a pleasant evening together. The cozy atmosphere in the cafŽ and the outdoor patio seating area give Bella Vista Trattoria & Wine Bar a rather intimate, casual vibe. The menu offers various daily specials and is also full of various Italian dishes that are popular such as the penne arrabbiate, gnocchi Bella Vista, fettuccini Bolognese, risotto and ravioli. There are also pizzas, steaks, salads and anti pasto that offer a mix of modern and contemporary Italian cuisines. The wine bar at the Bella Vista Trattoria & Wine Bar features a tasteful mix of martinis, bourbons, scotch whiskey (blended and single) as well as a small collection of beers too.

Opened in 2017. Michelin-recommended since 2022."We first imagined Aloette to be the perfect diner that we’d want to dine in – a menu with a great burger paired with a fantastic and fun wine list, a long row of bar stools facing the bar and the kitchen, and an energetic atmosphere accented with an old school hip hop playlist. The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s kind-of-a-bistro and kind-of-a-diner with an internationally inspired menu which is representative of the diverse cultures in Toronto.Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees. Gateau Ghost's humble beginnings trace back to the pandemic when founder Jayden Park perfected his madeleines in his home kitchen. This is where crowd favourite Madeline flavours like Matcha-Pistachio, Black Sesame, Strawberry, and Miso were first created. The space is a 3-in-1 masterpiece: a bakery, a small storefront stocked with products from local businesses, and a bistro-style restaurant with an open kitchen. We're serving coffee, pastries, brunch, lunch, and dinner from our location at College & Dovercourt in Toronto. Our cafe is open 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.Brunch waitlist available from 10:00am-3:30pm, Tuesday - Sunday.Dinner reservations 6:00pm - late, Thursday - Sunday. General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Somehow these two halves make perfect sense, and complement each other in a seamless conversation, where neither wins the argument, but you really do have to see it! See you soon!
