Wir verstehen uns nicht in erster Linie als Restaurant, sondern als Gast-Haus. In unserem Haus kann sich der Gast so wohl fühlen wie daheim und so gut speisen wie in Mutters Küche. Kaum ein Berliner, der uns nicht kennt. Kaum ein Gast, der nicht gerne immer wiederkommt - seit bald 20 Jahren. Denn wir sind eine Oase österreichischen Wohllebens inmitten preußischer Askese. Wir haben uns in den Kopf gesetzt, für Essen Zeit aufzuwenden, bei der Zubereitung wie beim Verzehr. Bei uns wird noch kompromisslos mit der Hand gekocht, nach den klassischen alpenländischen Rezepten. Schmeckt hier ein Schnitzel noch nach echter Butter? Eine Rindssuppe noch nach Rind? Ein Semmelknödel wie aus Omas Kochtopf? Dreimal Ja. Und auf einen edlen Tropfen Wein direkt vom österreichischen Winzer nicht verzichten. Velvet is a hyperseasonal cocktail bar (no food) in Berlin Neukölln. It’s weekly changing cocktail menu reflects the flavours available from Berlin’s surrounding at the time of the year and has earned the bar the title "Bar of the Year Germany" twice by Mixology Magazine & No.77 in the World's 50 Best Bars Top 100 in 2023.
