Opened in October 2023, Tavolena is a tribute to Chef Michael Rolchigo's grandmother, Lena Bello. The restaurants name combines tavolo (Italian for table) with Lena, honoring the kitchen table where Michael’s love for cooking was born. Surrounded by family photographs spanning decades, Lena’s original kitchen table serves as the focal point of TAVOLENA’S private dining room inviting guests into the Rolchigo family story.The menu features elevated takes on Italian classics, many drawn directly from Lena’s recipes such as Pork Spedinis, Meatballs and Sunday Sauce. Chef Michael reflects a balance of tradition and innovation learned from both Lena and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.
