Elizabeth and I were very excited to open our restaurant in Downtown Stuart. After years of visiting our parents our hearts led us back here each time we considered a different location. Our son Taylor (our Executive Chef) and I, both have a culinary education and all three of us are extremely passionate about quality food,drinks and hospitality. We thoroughly enjoy taking great care of our guests. “the Gafford” is named after my grandparents who taught us how to enjoy life, have fun and laugh (especially at ourselves). My grandfather was in the Air Force and hospitality business all of his life and taught me so much about business, cooking and hospitality. I can remember when I was young visiting my grandparents on their farm. My grandfather used to teach me how to grill. My favorite dish to cook together was a giant Ribeye steak. On our menu, that is our signature item and we call it “the Gafford.” Welcome to the Gafford where casual meets upscale.

All three meals were over the top excellent. Our server was top notch. The only thing I can say that is negative is that the menu states, in small print in the lower right corner that they offer a 3% discount for paying cash. When the bill came, I had forgotten so after paying in cash I haled my server and asked about it. She said they only offer if of the customer asks for it. I got it and gave it back to her as part of her tip but it just left a little slimy feel to an otherwise great evening.

As always, Kyle G’s was a delight. Julia was our waitress and we were able to sit at a high top near the bar with a saxophone player playing to us, which was so wonderful. I had the lobster special. My husband had the fried lobster tail and some clams on the half shell. Bread basket was delicious . Lobster could’ve been a little warmer, but it was delicious. Unfortunately I left some of it in the bag on the table when we went home. Why do I always do that? I got distracted.

Food is always delicious. We sampled the meatball and garlic knot appetizers. Meatballs were excellent. Knots were slightly overdone but still tasty. We had the chicken parmigiana and eggplant parmigiana entrees and they were both delicious. Cocktails and wine were great and our server was so pleasant and helpful. Nonna’s is a great choice for dinner.
