Good food and service!! Beware if you sit by the window the sun will cook you during brunch.

Great ambience, service and proximity to city attractions (we went to Theatre Royal) and the food was good but it was not hot when it reached us. I think that the relatively shortened 'breakfast' menu meant that some of the more usual choices were not coming out 'cooked to order'. A pity as everything else about 'The Grounds' is great. Nice for a post-work catch-up with a friend. Had some wine (great happy hour price) and a variety of little things to nibble on. Olives, brussel sprouts, butter lettuce salad, arancini were all great. I think the salad might have been my favourite (great dressing, nice & fresh) my friend loved the sprouts (& generous portion). Unfortunately the focaccia was a bit disappointing, just a bit dry/tasteless, odd texture? The staff/service was very friendly, helpful and attentive.

Food is the best I had in entire Australia, amazing ambience, lovely owner. There’s so many superficial places in Sydney, good to have found the one refuge for quality.

Bills never disappoints. Great ambience, consistently good food (though portion size on some menu items has reduced). Wine chosen was different to the one on the menu (a Riesling) but still delicious. Perfect spot for a family celebration (30th). We’ll continue to frequent Bilks, Surry Hills. Double Bay is our local and tend to go there but prefer the Surry Hills vibe.
