From the heart of Michelin-starred Chef/Owner Johnny Curiel comes Alteño. Curiel’s newest creation pays homage to his Jaliscan Highland roots and traditions, incorporating a mix of heritage flavors and rustic preparations that spotlight the cuisine and culture of the iconic Los Altos de Jalisco. The spirit of Johnny’s restaurateur father, the original Alteño, is felt in the very soul of the restaurant.The campestre influence woven throughout Alteño is inspired by Johnny’s childhood spent in the mountainous region of Los Altos, known for its rolling hills, historic colonial architecture, and wild, untamed land. Chef Johnny and his partner and wife, Kasie, developed the beverage program balancing top-shelf, native Mexican flavors and agave spirits like raicilla and mezcal, with classic cocktails and a wine list that includes a selection of Mexican, European and American wines overseen by Alteño’s in-house sommelier.

Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. The more traditional Japanese offerings include sashimi and nigiri, sourced from daily fish shipments from around the globe, along with dumplings and noodle dishes. The global cuisine experiments with a bevy of different flavors including unique items such as Grilled Panzanella Salad (jumbo lump crab, toasted focaccia, local goat cheese, pistachios, plum wine vinaigrette), Kobe Beef Sliders (seared foie gras, pomme frittes).     We were so excited to try Alteño after eating at Alma Fonda Fina a few months ago. It absolutely did not disappoint! The food was just as incredible as we expected, Colleen was so lovely, and we had the best time!

    Gorgeous restaurant- I’ve been before but my pal had not. It is a must try! Service friendly and impeccable. Only complaint is the “line up” of tables in a row. Just so awful to have a convo and so close to other tables that you can hear their convos. We asked to be seated elsewhere (we were first and only diners at time) so we’re seated at first table in the line up. Yuck. Overhead fans make it very very chilly. Apparently cannot turn down. Design flaw.

    Our annual Birthday Dinner at Barolo Grill was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Missy and the entire Barolo Grill team were lovely, personable, and professional, making sure our dining experience was top-notch.
