Excellent dinner in the beautiful Ritz. This was my first time to Dallas and we ended our trip with an amazing dinner. I'm glad I found Fearing's this place got great reviews and it lived up to our exceptions.
Absolutely perfect. From the service to the food to everything in between. The best restaurant in Dallas.
Normally when we are there for a birthday it’s celebrated in some way...it was odd that I included that it was a birthday in my reservation and then it was never mentioned. Sad that A Fish Called Wanda cocktail was gone-definitely has been a reason we like to go...did prefer precious presentation of Dr. Pepper braised short ribs over the current sweet potato has. The bakery basket was fantastic. The pancakes, while delicious, need a side of eggs or something. Preferred when iced tea was served with mint, although this was produced upon request. It was good, fine for everyday dining, but this time it feel short for a special occasion. I’m going to assume this is a one off since normally everytime I’m there feels like an event.
Been here many times. Although it is always very good, I would like to highlight the exceptional customer service of the general manager as we dealt with a minor issue with one of the courses. Thank you Ki!
Lovely birthday dinner. The staff and service was supreme !
Everything was great! The service was phenomenal, as was the food. The only negative was they didn’t ask dietary restrictions and brought out bread with meat in it before checking that we are pescatarian. Great experience overall and will absolutely be back!
awesome to meet chef fearing
perfect atmosphere for date night
The team at Fearing’s were amazing for our anniversary dinner! They really went above and beyond and it was great to meet Dean!
Great ambiance & interior.
Service is satisfactory.
Servers have been alternating continuously through out our visit. It was confusing for us whom to stick on to when we have to call for assistance. Except that, it was a great experience overall.
They took all the notes upfront according to the plan.
A wonderful restaurant. Service was fast and efficient. A great for a romantic dinner or to celebrate any event. Mr. Fearing is personal and fantastic!
Love dean fearing!!!
Really good food and service. Nice wine list too.
We had a fabulous time!! Everything was fantastic, not one complaint!
The service is impeccable and the food is fun, inventive and definitely Texas! We really enjoyed how they have a separate steakhouse menu to accompany the inventive offerings giving options to diners. Never disappointed.
My first time coming here and it was a great experience. Even Mr, Dean himself came to our table and asked us if we had any questions on the menu.
Great food and atmosphere.
Upon arrival, we were quickly greeted and our table was ready for us as soon as we came it. Within minutes, a bread basket with sourdough and a jalapeño cornbread muffins were dropped off and devoured. We then order a bottle of the Mendel Malbec for our meal.
For our starters we went with Dean’s Tortilla Soup with South of the Border Flavors and the Wagyu Beef Tartare with Cured Egg Yolk, Pickled Yellow Beets, Jalapenos, Fried Capers on Black Truffle Aioli with a Pile of French Fries. These were spectacular!
After our first round of appetizers, the server brought out a complimentary salmon amuse bouche from the kitchen. The wife found it a little fishy, but I personally thought it was spot on.
For our main courses I had the Maple/Black Peppercorn Soaked Buffalo Tenderloin on Jalapeño Grits, Tangle of Greens and Butternut Squash Taquito with Smoky Chili Aioli. The buffalo was ok, nothing to rave about. Cooked perfectly, just not a lot of taste. The butternut squash side was absolutely delicious.
The wife had the Seared Dry Aged Pennsylvania Duck Breast on Braised Duck Leg/Profound Farms Baby Swiss Chard with White Asparagus, Scarlet Turnip Confit and Cherry Brandy Sauce, which was by far the best dish. The white asparagus are simply put the best asparagus I've ever had. This whole dish is so perfect!
Before our main dessert was delivered, the server brought another complimentary item from the kitchen, mango limeade shooters. Chilled mango juice with a warm limeade froth served in a shooter. These were so good.
For dessert we had the scrumptious Spiced Carrot Cake Layered with Cream Cheese Icing, Coconut Streusel and Yuzu-Pineapple Sorbet paired with the Royal Tokaji Wine Co. Tokaji Aszu as per our servers recommendation. Perfect dessert wine match! Dessert was so amazing!
After our dessert, the server brought another complimentary plate of cookies, fudge, and mini pecan pies. At this point, we were stuffed and had the rest boxed up.
THIS PLACE IS PERFECT!
Service and food was excellent! Definitely on our list to come back
Service was great! Very attentive without being obtrusive. Also delightful was the complimentary tasting of smoked salmon. The scallops were the best I ever had along with the basil/potato puree. I also appreciate the fresh ingredients used in the salad especially. Only complaint (very minor) would be the portion size. Could be a little more for the money paid, but would return.
Although this was a holiday occasion with a prix fixe menu, and we understood the limitations, we were disappointed with the overall experience. Fearing's is supposed to be among the top luxury dining locations in Dallas. We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar while we waited for our table ($48 for two drinks w/tip), and then when we were escorted to the table (quite a walk from the bar), we had to navigate the crowd and were not offered assistance to carry our drinks...definitely NOT luxury. Our table was situated in a cramped space, probably only used for special events, a circular room with tile floor with bad acoustics (we could hear, loudly, the conversations taking place on all sides of us). The atmosphere was nothing special, rather cold and lacking in the luxury queues you expect for $150 per person experience (not including beverages). The table service was rushed, with tables turning frequently and a constant flurry of activity around us, throughout. Lastly, the menu pairings were interesting but the preparation unspectacular. My wife and I tried two different first course options and entrees, which were satisfactory, but again, not memorable. Overall, we were disappointed in the experience, which was unjustifiably expensive, and not up to the standards one expects from a luxury restaurant in a luxury hotel. We won't be recommending Fearing's, and we won't be going back.
Valentine’s Day dinner. The room was way overpacked, felt like being in a fishbowl as opposed to an intimate romantic dinner. The service was a huge negative - servers could not describe the dishes (probably there to handle the hordes), had to wait a long time to get their attention, did not check if food was prepared to our liking. The meal was average, which equates to well below average for Fearing’s. Will never go back for a special event. Stick to evenings when the normal menu, service and ambience is present. Felt like the restaurant was trying to push as many tables thro8ugh as possible that night.
This place is always a treat. Great food and service.
Had the fixed menu on Valentine's Day. Several great choices of appetizer and entree. Chef fearing was making the rounds assuring everything was in order-which it was!
GREAT FOOD!! GREAT ATMOSPHERE!! GREAT SERVICE!!!
For a restaurant in the Ritz Carlton, the service was surprisingly sub par. We felt like there was several times where we were forgotten. Just sitting there after we were seated for almost 15 mins without anyone coming by started the lack luster service aspect. The food however was delicious and mad the dinner recoverable.
I expected a dining experience as I have had deans food at The mansion 6 times
Was dissaponted with the impersonal service.no attention to detail ans wine pricing is 25% higher than it should be,Opted for by the glass instead of ordering a bottle as it was my wifes birthday
food was good but not to the measure I have had in the past by this chef.runner team service needs work.
felt like food was dropped at the table not served.
My second visit was for brunch. The Jackson Campbell pancakes brought a tear to my eyes because tasted just like my grandma’s griddle crisco pancakes. The fried chicken was soooo southern homemade good! The mashed potatoes and green beans were tasty. The mini corn bread biscuits were just sweet enough. I love the food here. Too bad my student loans will not let me eat here as often as I would like.
It was not a particularly busy evening. Our server never introduced themselves, we had several different faces serving us--never knowing who our actual server was. I had also made noted in the reservation that the meal was an early Valentine's celebration, and no mention of the occasion was ever made, like I would normally expect from such an establishment. The wait time for our appetizer was over 20 minutes, our main course, over 45(The Antelope having gone cold by then). I waited 30 minutes for a drink that once I actually was able to get someone's attention, had been totally forgotten. Our wait time was so significant, that both of my guests requested that we leave on more than one occasion, but I stayed because I have been to Fearing's multiple times in the past, and have never had such a poor experience.
I cannot imagine spending that type of money on such abysmal customer service ever again.
I was extremely embarrassed, and I will not be returning to Fearing's. I feel I'd be more attended to at Wendy's.
Side note: The menu was new, bizarre, and delicious. It is a shame the staff could not meet the same standards as the food.
Fantastic! Delicious food and amazing vegetarian options.
Always a perfect evening here. Dean came by more than once to briefly talk thru the updated menu. Don't worry the "fan faves" always stay. Dean's margarita in that beautiful goblet is stunning in appearance and taste. Can't beat this place.
Dean fearing was off due to his birthday I wish OpenTable would have let me know that when I booked the night because it was my wife's birthday and we enjoy seeing Dean on our special occasions....the rattlesnake bar is usually pretty nice but it took 30 minutes to get a drink and they were not that busy at all... We were seated by the cashier stand which seemed a little odd... A round table would have been better for our party of six..since it was a slow night probably because Dean was not there...After the meal we are not offered any coffee service...
Fantastic dinner for a special date! We highly recommend the bbq oysters - they melt in hour mouth! The duck breast and the wagyu petite fillet were delicious and perfectly cooked! We loved the special touches and appreciated the bar manager helping us figure out our evening plans following dinner!
The Fearing Restaurant was the best choice to celebrate my husbands birthday. Food taste and looked good, the ambience was amazing definitely visiting again.
Service was really good but food is disappointing I didn’t feel anything special with the price, not tasty
Extremely original menu, with something for everyone (even my teen found something he loved).
The appetizer sampler is a must and my antelope dish was amazing.
The desserts were fantastic as well.
Service was too notch and Dean Fearing making rounds talking to patrons was a very classy touch.
P.s. do yourself a favor and order their famous Margarita
What a wonderful experience! This was a celebratory night out with family and the entire dinner was fabulous. From the delicious food to the waitstaff that was there to seamlessly bring out the next course so that you were not waiting, but also never felt rushed, it was great. The entire night was perfect and everyone enjoyed their time! Chef Dean Fearing also made his way around the restaurant for an extra-touch. We enjoyed the sampler starter, a mix of entrees, and the banana pudding and carrot cake to end. Would recommend as a nice meal for a special occasion!
