Always wonderful. We make a trip from Oklahoma City to Fearing for special occasions! Food is creative and always changing! The best. I highly recommend.
Wonderful dinner and evening celebrating my wife’s birthday. Dean stopped by the table twice.
Exceptional!! Always great food and great service!!
The Strip was excellent!!! Cooked to perfection!!
We visited Fearing's for a yummy dinner with friends. We thought it was good - the service was very attentive, but knew the balance between letting us enjoy our conversation and being there when needed to keep the dinner on pace. We weren't rushed, we enjoyed our meal. I don't know that I would go for the sampler again - that seemed beyond overpriced for what was provided. Believe it or not, there was a couple of taste 'misses', but fortunately, nothing that really had us disappointed in the meal overall. We had a lovely time and when the occasion calls for a nicer restaurant - Fearing's will continue to be an option.
3 friends ate at Fearing's in celebration of a 70th birthday. We all loved our food, wine, and the restaurant environment, but two things brought the experience down a notch. First, the staff wasn't well trained in the food they were serving. One of my friends asked a question about an item on the menu. In a restaurant such as Fearing's, the staff should be able to give a very clear description of the preparation and presentation of any item on the menu. It's part of what we pay for when we go there. But he couldn't. His explanation was very vague. His accent was also somewhat difficult to understand, but the main issue was that he wasn't able to explain the entree and answer a guest's basic questions. Fearing's, please train your servers! Second, the bathrooms. One of the women refused to use the bathrooms because they were unisex. She believed that men are simply not as clean in the bathroom as women are, and she didn't want that experience. As she put it, in a place as upscale as this, they should have separate bathrooms. There were also not enough of them. We had to wait for stalls to become available.
Dinner at Fearing’s was one of the best meals I have ever had. Each course we had was amazing, but I must say the side dishes were some of the most flavorful items I have ever had. Wish we lived closer to Dallas so we could patronize Fearing’s on a regular basis.
We were seated in a timely fashion. Our dining room was beautiful. Service was great, not overbearing or absent. Food was fresh, beautiful to look at, and delicious!
Excellent all around. Highly recommend.
Wow. We love the flavorful recipes that may not impress the cognoscenti, but taste fu**ing great! As Dean says, “I make food people want to eat”. Treat yourself and save room for dessert.
Outstanding could not describe this restaraunt enough. The cruisine was amazing with each bite going off in your mouth with wonderful flavors. The service was stellar.
It was very nice for a birthday Dinner. Will visit again
Great from start to finish!
Wonderful food, wonderful service, Chef Fearing came over twice to be sure all was well, lovely outside bar.., best experience so far in Uptown
As usual, wonderful service and great food. Dean came by and talked to us, making us feel welcome! Always terrific for a special occasion. The wine was excellent as well.
This was a stunning experience! You can tell that the staff enjoys their place of work and believes in the product. The chef turns out remarkable food at the highest level of integrity. The wine list is remarkable. The New York strip maybe one of the best steaks I’ve had. There appetizers are jaw-dropping. Perfect!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Our server was attentive and thoughtfully brought over a small portion of an appetizer to a person in our party who had not ordered one, so that she would not be the only person without that course. The food was delicious--tortilla soup, shrimp tacos, scallops and pasta, buffalo tenderloin, and the vegetarian sampler were all well seasoned and prepared. Desserts--one person said her dessert was so good she abandoned her three-bite rule--ha! Atmosphere was inviting--noise level was moderate and made it easy to have a conversation.
One of the "go to" high end fine dining restaurants for my money!
Have eaten there several times. Food was very good as always. Service was very spotty. Probably took 15 minutes after seating to have waiter ask for drinks. Overall beautiful spot but something off this night.
A little slow on the start but once it got going it was terrific.
Love Fearing’s!!! Best in Dallas!!! Had the tenderloin. Amazing. The service is always spot on perfection.
2nd time dining here. Good atmosphere and drinks. It was a Thursday night so the restaurant was slower which is normal. Had a party of 3 people and all 3 of us stated that our food was decent but overpriced. $62 for a Filet and a fried lobster tail was not out of the norm but the lobster tail tasted like chicken due to the batter and fry method. The menu tends to be a little too exotic. It's nice to have a dish with elk sausage and quail but the entire menu seemed to be this way. Our personal feeling is that they should have specials that have these features and perhaps some more traditional foods on the menu. We had a great experience the first time and the 2nd time was ok. I won't be rushing to come back but I'm not recommending to stay away either.
Very nice. Great touch to have Chef Fearing come visit our table.
Chef's personal touches, like visiting each table and sending out special amuse bouche and pre-dessert spiced hot chocolate shooter, were nice. Food was good. Everything a bit expensive, but the neighborhood is high-rent. Very classy place. Service was excellent.
They had nice vegan options available. The waiter seemed confused a bit about what was gluten free as well as vegan. Brought me some supposedly gf naan bread and later came back to say it was vegan but not gf. Good thing I hadn't eaten it!
I don’t have much to say negatively except my server kept disappearing and the apple dessert that he highly recommended wasn’t very good. It tasted like a deconstructed apple pie that wasn’t executed very well. I wasn’t very happy with having to pay for a dessert that did not get eaten, even after the complaint was brought up to the server and manager. The noise level in the dining area was too high to really have a conversation with someone sitting directly next to you.
Aside from that, everything else was exceptional.
I highly recommend the quail starter, the fried oyster starter, the scallops and linguine entree, and the key lime ice cream sandwiches; these were all so incredibly delicious.
Exceptional service, food and ambiance! Definitely not a great place if you're a vegetarian or watching your calorie intake, but a definite treat for someone looking to have a special meal. I do wish there were a couple more lighter options (not from the gulf...) Wild salmon for instance would have been a nice addition. However, loved our experience and will definitely be back!
Really good service. Started out in the rattlesnake bar, great wine and service. Our bar server took care of whisking us to our table and bringing our wine glasses so we could just easily get to our table. The food was perfectly prepared. An enjoyable evening. Recommend this restaurant and bar.
We came for our anniversary and loved it! All of the servers working in our room were knowledgeable about whT had gluten and what didn’t....which is extrmeleny important since I have an allergy. They even brought us individual desserts bc my boyfriend is not gluten free! Over all it was amazing!
Very nice service - not pretentious at all. Friendly, professional and attentive.
Food was delicious.
It has taken me 11 years to make my way back to Fearing's and it is still as great as it was when Dean Fearing first opened! There is something on the menu for all food preferences and the staff is very professional. They offer great recommendations. Don't miss this if you are in Dallas!
Food was outstanding. We were greeted by the owner, so that was nice. Service marvelous. Pricier than I anticipated.
This is the top restaurant in DFW. Always delicious with very creative food. If you are not from Dallas or if you are from Dallas and have business associates, friends or family coming in from out of town, this is one of the places you must take them to in Dallas. An absolute treasure. Dean Fearing is a magician-dining at Fearing's is always a thrill and the specials at Fearing's are truly SPECIAL.
Still the best dining experience in Dallas! Dean Fearing and his staff never miss with perfectly prepared and creative menu options. Fearing's Wine Director, Paul Botamer, always delivers with unique wines and great stories behind them. Don't pass up the opportunity for wine pairings selected by Paul and the fun conversation that goes along with it. My wife and I have been dining with Dean for 25 years, the most recent for our anniversary. As usual, it was an amazing experience. Dean always makes us feel like family, in this instance sharing a glass of champagne with us to start our meal. What's not to like a about a restaurant with superb food, great ambiance and a warm and talented staff? We'll be back...often!
As always, the food was exceptional. How fun it was to have Dean Fearing himself visit with us several times throughout the night as offer suggestions!
Martin was our waiter again andbhe is excellent. Love tbe new uniforms! Ambiance is perfect, food out of this world. Chef Dean Fearing is one of the most personable people I have ever met. And now onto Paul, the sommelier. He is a rare gem, he is funny, kind and an asset to Fearings. He always picks great wines to pour for us. Anyone from out of town or even locals should all be dining at Fearings! We will be back
Fearings continues to set the standard for all other Dallas fine dining. Everything about the experience is five stars: service, food, presentation.
Fearing's is a required stop every time we are in Dallas.
It is always terrific.
Amazing food and service- great place to go for our anniversary! The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about wine. We had an appetizer, special steaks from a rotating menu, and a melt in your mouth dessert and coffee that was strong and delicious. Enjoyed it very much and will return for another special occasion!
Excellent as always. Seamless service. They make it look easy!
Always at the top of my list since he opened. Dean's positive nature is such a plus!!!
