    We had the poached pear salad and it was lovely! The chowder was only warm.. wished it was hotter but nonetheless, it was a very lovely meal. We really enjoyed the live pianist playing and creating such a lovely atmosphere. Our server Ms Paulina was brilliant! Catered everything before we even asked and was such a lovely professional! Thank you for the wonderful brunch date!

    The staff were super friendly and prompt and the food was so flavorful and had unique flavors. We ordered huevos rancheros, smashed fingerling potatoes cornflake encrusted French toast and Apple beignets w/ caramel and everything was tasty and we had no complaints about any of the dishes.

    My friend and I meet yearly to celebrate our birthdays. This year we came to Fairview Dining room for dinner and Afternoon tea tte following day. We had Jasmine as our server both days. We had excellent service. Dinner was amazing with Poached pear salad and oysters as our appetizer. We shared the diver scallops and fresh drum. Jasmine arranged for a very special desert brought to our table. On Saturday afternoon we had the Tea Royale- very nice. First time in years we were able to secure a tea reservation b/c it’s so popular. Very much worth the wait! Thank you for making the weekend so memorable.

    It was the perfect place for our party of 8 to celebrate my father’s 97th birthday. Quiet enough, tasteful ambiance, great food (I can attest to how good the smoked salmon toast was), and excellent service. They even provided 5 of us with cushions to sit on (the chairs are very low). They brought my dad a beautiful chocolate dessert with a candle and a piece of chocolate with “Happy Birthday” written on it at the end of our meal. Note that if you go on a Saturday or Sunday during the daytime, they only offer a brunch menu.

    While the food was very good, the first impression we had of Fairhaven Dining Room was not. The “greeter” didn’t even look up, much less speak, and was sullen when she finally (reluctantly , it seems) seated us. There were three of us and the staff person tossed three menus on the table at one place and let seat ourselves and distribute the menus. The wait staff was better, and the food, enjoyable, so we will probably go there again. This was not our first visit to FDR, but this poor first impression is one we’ve experienced each time we’ve eaten there. The greeters seem unprepared, unfriendly, and untrained. It’s a shame, because the food is quite good and the setting, lovely.

    The Food was excellent, well prepared and served quickly. The beignets we not what i expected, and not of Cafe Du Monde quality. The Bloody Mary was exceptionally spicey but was quickly replaced. A top quality restaurant.

    We enjoyed my birthday lunch at Fairview Dining room, sitting outside. Service was excellent. the Cobb/chopped salad was delicious but the Cesar salad was very average - the dressing was tasteless and there were 2 anchovies - soon rectified by our waitstaff. They kindly gave me a lovely chocolate mousse slice for my birthday, with a candle and happy birthday message which made the lunch extra special. The mowers started up towards the end of our lunch on the 18th green and around, so it became very loud. Too loud. Other than that, we had a lovely time.

    Service was excellent. Food was good but a little disappointing. My pear salad tasted like it contained canned pears. The goat cheese was so sweet and mild that it tasted like cream cheese instead of goat cheese. The sauce for the shrimp cocktail was bland - both the remoulade and the cocktail sauce. Very pricy for what it was. My son ordered his burger medium rare and it was well done. My father, stepmother and my son’s girlfriend enjoyed their meals (crab cakes, soup, sweet potato hash, risotto, asparagus).

    Our server Johnathan was great! Very polite and made for an enjoyable dinner. We live close by and come here for dinner every few months and he was exceptional. This time we came for my birthday that’s next week and we really enjoyed the birthday dessert! Thanks again for a great evening!

    My rating says it all. A fine dining place with just the right amount of ambiance noise. Shrimp and grits was quite nice, but pop tart is a little lackluster. Our waitress Sara was attentive and considerate. Will be back another time.

    Both my wife and I ordered meats--wife a NY Strip; me a veal chop (special). The waitress left before asking how we wanted them cooked. We could not find her so we asked a waiter at the neighboring table to get her. He offered to help out and asked how we wanted the meats cooked. We said: NY strip Med Rare; Veal chop medium. Someone eventually brought the meats. (not our waitress). The NY Strip was medium and a bit dry. The Veal chop was too rare for me to eat. I kept looking around for a waitress/waiter. After 10 minutes of nothing, I finally walked to the hostess stand and told her that the veal chop was not properly prepared and I could not eat it; no one came to check on how are meats were done. The Hostess immediately took care of the problem but we never saw our waitress again until I asked for the check. My wife's french fries had to be sent back as they were cold. The hostess took care of that, too. Thank goodness for her. They offered to comp dessert but the meal had gone on long enough that we refused any dessert. They did take have of the price of the veal chop ($52) off the bill. Very disappointing meal for a 4 Diamond restaurant

    Reliably good food, perhaps need more variety in entrees. We missed the duck confit in the Internet menu. Very good crab cakes with succotash. Piano music very nice but at times a loud interference to conversations.

    Food was exceptional, could not be seated a moment early. Service started out well, but more delays as the meal went on. Team was good. Missed my coffee order at the end, but it wasn’t on the bill. Good value, pleasant surroundings, complimentary birthday desert was a very nice touch.

    We had dinner at 5:30pm and needed to be at DPAC for a 7:00pm show. Johnathon our server was very very attentive to this and we made our show on time :) The restaurant is beautiful and ambiance perfect for a romantic dinner. My wife had a glass of wine and we shared a burger and fries and a salad, it was my birthday and we were treated to a delicious chocolate dessert!! The only downside was that I felt it was overly expensive for what we ordered, but overall we had a very nice dinner and experience.

    Food was fine even though sugar crust of creme brulee was too thich and hard. My daughter goes Duke and her birthday was in early September, and they gave us a chocolate cake for free! That was amazing. I could have given 4 or 5 star for service if a female staff, who checked our reservation and showed us our table, wasn't unbelievably rude. When we arrived (on time for our reservation), she didn't say anything. No greeting. Not asking if you have a reservation. I told her our reservation details. Then her telephone rang, and she answered it and told us to stay away. Dumbfounded, but for her phonecall, we moved and waited for a while. After her phonecall, she didn't call us and greeted another people and showed them their table. More dumbfounded. She showed us iur table anyway, but her rude and appalling attitude already ruined the image of fairview restaurant. I will never visit fairview restaurant again if I have to be greeted by the female staff. Other staffs were smiley and kind.

    Loved the oyster appetizer. The short rib dinner was delicious. Loved the quiet table in the corner we had. Overall we were all really happy. Friends loved the steak. Wine was good too and enough choices by the glass. Even the coffee was excellent.
