    Food was quite good. Sitting on the lighted patio was very inviting. Server was very friendly, however, we waited exceptionally long periods of time for the server to come by after the appetizer, waiting for a dessert menu, obtaining the check. I would still return and give them another chance.

    Great food options for the tapas menu. We were a group of three and requested outdoors but they gave us a high table. Noticed a few tables available but was not offered to us. The live music outside on the patio made the ambiance great. Next time definitely will bring the door as we were not aware it was dog friendly. Wish they shared that on the website.

    My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and had a memorable experience. We loved the food, staff and ambiance so much, we returned the next evening so that we could try more dishes. Every dish was delicious, using super fresh produce and ingredients. The staff is extremely attentive. Excellent wine as well. This restaurant offers unique, flavorful and innovative dishes. We enjoyed both meals on the outdoor patio, which is comfortable, beautiful and relaxing. The live spanish guitar was another special feature of this amazing gem. We will be back every time we are in town. Would make a special trip just to dine here again.

    This was my first time at this restaurant. The ambience was warm and sophisticated. The food was exceptional. I ordered two topas to sample a couple of things, I was not disappointed. I will be going back next time I'm in Monterey!

    The food was very good and priced appropriately. Where I was disappointed was the server not paying attention - why drop dessert menus while I am still eating my dinner and then drop the tab while we’re eating dessert. We hadn’t lingered and exceeded our time and there was not crush of people pushing them to turn the table. It was just a lack of awareness.

    I live in the area and never had the chance to eat at Esteban Restaurant. Family of mine were coming into town and were going to be staying at the Casa Munras Garden Hotel. I made reservations at the restaurant. The service was excellent. Our waiter Byron was attentive and personable. The food was delicious. The ambiance was wonderful. An all around lovely experience. We will definitely return.

    Always have great experiences! The nicest servers and the best food. The new outside area with the live music was amazing (just the right loudness to provide background ambiance without ever intruding on our conversation) Highly recommended.

    My friend and I had the Wagyu beef and it was delicious. Our desserts were also outstanding. Prices for dinner were acceptable, and the service was topnotch. I would definitely return.

    So sorry to give a poor review. Two of my party found their food nearly inedible. Roast chicken that needed a steak knife, and slathered with sauce -- no indication of that on the menu or any offer to serve it on the side. Overcooked fish lacking all flavor, simply because my friend requested that the original sauce be withheld due to allergies (she could find *nothing* on the menu that did not contain either peppers, dairy, squash or seeds); a bit of olive oil and some seasoning would have helped. The water servers were diligent; our main server was sweet and lovely but may have been the only one in the restaurant and therefore often disappeared or else we struggled to make eye contact. Prices weren't crazy but it was by no means a bargain. Tapas were approx. $22-32 each; main dishes around $40. Nobody wanted dessert; we couldn't risk it! The room itself was without charm. Again, sorry. Oh! and "tapas" or no tapas, this is in no way a Spanish restaurant. Wacky menu.

    This Restaraunt in the lobby of hotel, but the food is very good. The dishes are innovative and very tasty. The seating and ambiance is average. Service is quite good. Go here for food and baba which are priced reasonably (for Monterrey and tapas Restaurants )

    We booked on the basis of having read previous reviews and we’re not disappointed. The food was good, portion sizes were decent, better than in the UK for tapas, therefore enough to easily share between three adults. I’ve never had Brussels as part of a tapas meal before and as I detest them was a bit apprehensive but was won over. All the dishes had flavour and were brought out in stages not all at once which helped. Very happy with the meal and service.

    I believe our servers name was Jessica. She had given us absolute excellent service, fun & engaging. 5 stars for her. Restaurant is attached to hotel & we had some mild reservations but absolutely exceeded our expectations. I order the octopus, cooked perfectly & ate every bite. My mom ordered the vegetarian paella . She vegetarian & allergic to seafood. Server was able to provide options for her & duly noted. My son ordered the chicken & he loved it. Rose sangria was delicious not to sweet just right. The bar was stocked with a good selection of liquor (which is hard to find in hotels). Especially tequila, they had casamigos, azul & even codigo which made for a delicious espresso martini. Service staff was on point, refilling waters, clearing plates & constant surveillance. This was the best food we had experienced during our weekend trip to Monterey. We will definitely return & stay at this hotel.

    We were pleased with the good options and service when we celebrated my daughters birthday. Everything was perfectly seasoned and as described. We knew we had to order the chocolate chip cookies for dessert but the crème brûlée and berry cobbler were amazing as well; highly recommend.

    I brought my mom here for Mother's Day brunch and it was excellent! The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. My omelette was enormous and full of flavor, definitely an excellent value. I love that they had Ad Astra bread on the menu, it's great to see restaurants supporting local bakeries. This was my first time at Esteban's and I will definitely be returning to try their lunch or dinner!

    The chef's creations are very exciting. We love all the tapas offerings starting with patatas bravas and the Spanish ham and cheese plate. The new to us Moroccan lamb was super. The vegetable dishes such as the baked/roasted carrots and seasonal Brussel sprouts and asparagus were all hits. Our table had assorted food tastes and we were all quite happy. We did leave enough room for desserts which also got high praise from local and travelling companions. The room does not have the best acoustics so we look forward to the reopening of the patio this coming summer.

    The Tapas at Estebans are consistently great. A must when we visit Monterey. This time we enjoyed them so, that we came back the next evening. The waitress was very sweet, friendly and attentive. Great service. We enjoyed the CHAMPIONE COCA FLATBREAD with oyster mushrooms, the VERDURAS A LA BRASA, the COASTAL VIEW FARMS ROASTED ORGANIC ASPARAGUS, the GAMBAS AL PLANCHA, the GRILLED MORROCAN SPICED LAMB, the DONNA DIRT FARMS CRISPY BRUSSEL SPROUTS, the ZANAHORIAS and the PULPO FRITO.
