Espana is becoming our favorite restaurant. The never disappoint and the food and service is excellent.
Love everything about Espana. The Sea Bass special was my best meal of the week!
Food was excellent. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed all their appetizers and entrees. Unfortunately, our server's attitude and actions detracted from the otherwise wonderful experience. He was short, not friendly and seemed to act as if our group was a bother to him. Maybe he was having a bad night, but it definitely left a less than great impression on our evening as a whole, and that was disappointing.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. This is my second visit and I will return.
We love España! The Sangria is delicious, and we love ordering tapas and sharing. Everything is prepared perfectly and the service is always excellent.
When visiting Amelia Island we always make a reservation to assure that we will be able to dine there. You will never be disappointed always perfect.
Everything was good just would love an updated dining room, patio looked nice.
Great spot. The steaks were cooked perfectly & Omar was awesome!
Made this reservation for my parents, for their 35th wedding anniversary when they were visiting Amelia Island. They loved the food and the restaurant gave them prosecco (on the house) prior to their meal, in celebration of their anniversary. They raved about the food and restaurant as a whole - thank you, Espana!
Would have given 5 stars if we had the option of garden view. We were seated facing street, with curtain pulled due to sun. Reservation was at 530 so I would have thought they still had garden view available. Wait staff was superb!!
First time will be back!!
We had the seafood paella and it was outstanding and perfectly cooked. The service was also outstanding.
The restaurant was busy but not slammed on a Saturday night in June, we did have a reservation and were seated immediately. Unfortunately, the noise level was quite loud making any quiet, intimate conversations not possible. The patio and gardens are gorgeous.
Excellent dining experience. Food, service, price. So good we returned two days later. We can see why Espana is so highly rated on TripAdvisor.
Best restaurant in Fernandina Beach!
My husband and I were visiting Amelia Island. We love tapas and saw España was highly recommended. It did not disappoint! Dinner was delicious, we allowed Omar to recommend dishes (specials like spicy beef empeniatas and seafood paella) that were fabulous! The sangria was wonderful and not too sweet. Overall we would absolutely return to España and recommend it to anyone going to Amelia Island.
Amazing....As Usual! Everytime we come to vacation on Amelia Island we eat at Espana and they did not and have not disappointed. Top notch fresh and tasty food, great service and some amazing sangria keep us coming back again and again and again.
Amazing paella and sangria! We will definitely return during our next visit to Amelia Island!
Espana has Delicious food and good service at a reasonable price.
One of our local favorites, food is delicious and the service is fantastic!
We’ll be back.
I love visiting Espana when visiting Fernandina because the food is delicious! My husband and I enjoy the seafood paella. I think their homeade sangria is a wonderful treat too!
We have been to this restaurant a few times and love the food and wine selection. We have tried several of the tapas and have enjoyed all of them. The Paella is as great as the Paella we have had in Spain. Great place to take family and friends for a very nice dinner.
Awesome as always! Requested an earlier seating and they accommodated us. While eating a bad storm developed and we were told to take our time and not leave until it had calmed down. My husband’s favorite spot to dine. Thanks Espana! The food was excellent and service impeccable!
No matter what you order, the food is always cooked to perfection and the quality is consistent. From the small plates to the main dishes you will find something that you will enjoy. They also have chef specials, the bone in veal chop was GREAT! The servers are knowledgeable and attentive. This is our fav restaurant on AI.
We were looking for somewhere unique, local and authentic so we asked a lady working at Heron what fit the bill for that description in the Amelia Island area. Instantly she recommended Espana. She warned us to go early because it gets full quickly because it's such a popular place. Espana is a beautiful retreat tucked away off of Main Street of downtown Fernandina Beach. It was cozy with hints of Spanish and Mediterranean decor. The menu was an authentic Spanish tapas offering. I really had a hard time deciding which items to select as they all looked amazing. The garlic shrimp was outstanding and they light sauce. The marinated olives were spot-on, and the stuffed peppers with salmon were heavenly on a piece of buttery crisp bread. The Pattaya for one turned out to be enough for three and was full of the freshest seafood and flavors of saffron. Watch out for the incredible bread-and-butter they bring out at the beginning. It's some of the best I've ever had and it would have been easy to fill up on. The sangria looks amazing. You won't be disappointed if you go to Espana!
Shrimp Tapas are awesome.
We love Espana. We eat there every visit to Amelia! My grandchildren love to eat there too! Great food!
First visit to this area of Florida. The service was spot on and waitstaff were attentive and knowledgible of the menu. A bit noisy for being able to talk with your partner. Used Yelp to help us choose and it was not a disappointment. We had reservations and this is highly recommended. Food was fresh and well presented.
Not good, my fish wasn’t good at all I sent it back , yes they took it off the bill so I left hungry , they left items off the dish and when I question it the waiter said that’s not what I ordered the gentleman next to me ordered the same and his dish was quite different . And he turned and said he heard the waiter say that to me and he even spoke up saying we ordered the same. Won’t be back there .
great food - great service by Jonathan. The owners are very hands on and do a great job. the place was very busy both Sat and Sun nights of memorial day weekend. we took a late 9pm
res on Sat based on recommendations from our B&B lodging host that weekend - i left my credit card so we returned the 2nd only to see it was even more busy than Sat. great experience and well worth a wait or going late for a table.
Great food! A special place for those wanting something beyond the ordinary dining experience! The specials were fantastic! If you crave fresh seafood and Spanish cuisine you will not be disappointed.
Late Anniversary dinner. Seems like they have made changes to the some of the recipes. Our Gambas Mozambique had been sitting out & had formed a skin on the sauce. The Plancha was missing the capers but was otherwise delicious. The Caracoles were outstanding as usual. Overall enjoyed our meal & will be back.
Just loved It! Hadn’t been in for a while and after going again we can’t figure out why we didn’t. Took friends who had never been and they loved it. Omar was a pleasure and we will ask for him to take care of us on our next visit. We had snapper, grouper, shrimp, sangria and a great Steele Cabernet. Lovely looking out the windows at all the pretty flowers. Worth every penny which I cannot say about the other places on the island.
As always...... fantastic, authentic Spanish cuisine. Seafood stew and paella AMAZING!!!
Every bite was delectable! Excellent service. Lovely wine selections. A truly amazing dining experience.
Espana is consistently excellent. We live on the island and it's become one of our 'go to' places when we're looking for a good upscale dinner our as a couple or with out-of-town guests
We were greeted and led to our table right away. Drinks were served quickly and appetizers arrived shortly after ordering but dinner was held off a respectable time to allow spacing for the food. We were not rushed for dessert either but lingered over espresso first. Very enjoyable anniversary!
I will not recommend this place. The waiter Omar bring the food medium rare and we specifically told him that if we saw blood the plate will be returning to the kitchen for proper cook and he comed back to our table trying to give us lessons about the terms of cooking.
Medium well has small amount of pink in the center BUT not blood, we KNOW it!
We do not appreciate his condescend attitude.
Great food at a busy, fun spot! Paella very good as were the mussel a appetizer.
Great food and service....Portuguese seafood stew is phenomenal
