Ernie's Food & Spirits
The crossroads of cultivation, connection, and creativity. We strive to connect our craft of creating unique, locally inspired, and seasonally curated food with emotionally invested service.
The relationships we have created with local farmers, cultivators, brewers, and distillers, share the core ideals of our emotional investment. We are proud of our centralized location with seven major highways or interstate routes within twenty minutes of our front door. As we conceived our identity, we became fond of connecting our guests to the highest quality food and beverage our area had to offer. We have diligently partnered with local farmers to raise our own plots of fruits and vegetables, cheese makers to provide farmstead cheese, distillers who utilize the bounty around us, and brewers that strive to create the highest quality crafted product as we do in our restaurant. We look forward to connecting you to our ideals.

Ernie’s has a beautiful menu and the food was delicious! The portions were extremely generous and our server was very patient with us while we visited before ordering. There were a few blips. Everyone’s drink but mine was served (there were four of us). Mine was still at the bar. That was kind of weird. They took my husband’s napkin and said they would bring a new one but never did. We ended up sharing a napkin (yes we could of asked again but didn’t want to bother them). She forgot to bring my coffee to go with my dessert, so it was gone when I finally got it. All of this being said, truly it was fantastic and always a wonderful treat. We appreciate everything and understand the staff may be short handed. Nothing kept us from a great evening. Thank you!
Loved the service and intimate booth. Presentation outstanding. Our anniversary acknowledged !
Nice waitress. My husband’s meal was out of the starch so the waitress offered a substitute and then was charged $22 for the substitute. She did correct it when the bill came.
My meal tasted good but the puréed squash on the bottom of the plate was cold. Guess that was for color. Two meal choices, one coke and two desserts cost)152.74. A bit pricey considering the noise level. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. I would dine here again but would request a different table. It costs money to dine out. The quality of meat was excellent. We tipped our waitress above the recommended 20%. She did her best and we had a nice time.
Their homemade soups were wonderful and filling; the sea bass was a complex medley of flavors that were to die for.
The king salmon had great flavor and was so light it seemed to disappear in the mouth
Best hidden gem love this place . Cocktails were also amazing
The noise level was too much. The overall evening was wonderful, but being able to visit was next to impossible.
At an establishment as classy as Ernie's, you can expect high prices, but you always get very high value and excellent service. when I can afford it, I shall definitely return!!
Great dining experience. Very good food.
Our second time to Earnies since we moved to Calaveras county. We invited friends this time. I have not found a similarly elegant place with this type of ambiance, service and fine dining in the surrounding area of where we now live. We really had a good time. Our guests asked how we found such a place in this area!
Naomi went out of her way to help us move our reservations last minute to a different time due to a funeral my husband attended. I know this cannot always be done, but she managed to pull it off! The employees really care about the customers experience. Rare to find these days.
If you want a really enjoyable evening out, this is the place: fantastic ambiance, decor, service, food and overall atmosphere. Don't let the casino next door and outside appearance scare you off. Once you get inside it's a whole different world!
Food was delicious, service amazing, would recommend any day of the week.
Excellent food and great service. The setting and location are a disappointing look for such a great restaurant. We felt the prices were way too expensive - $72. for the rack of lamb with no side dishes served with it for that price. Mashed potatoes cost an extra $12. Dinner for two with cocktails and wine set us back $300.
Took my daughter who was visiting from England. Service is excellent - friendly staff and first class food. Not cheap but could not fault anything - highly recommend fir a special occasion.
It was a great experience, but it is expensive.
Ernie's is my "go to" restaurant when I want the best of dining in a radius of 100 miles.
Everything is Class A.
Our 3 year wedding anniversary was amazing at this restaurant. Perfectly cooked steaks and tasty side dishes. Very attentive staff. Great atmosphere.
Everything was satisfactory!
If you're looking for a special meal, this is your place. The cuisine was excellent and the service outstanding. The ambience was beautiful.
Good for the hour we made reservations for. It is odd that is says masks are required on their website, yet upon arrival no one (staff included) except me and my guest were wearing a mask.
New fall menu was amazing!! Thanks for the great service. Clearly must be doing something right, very attentive staff
Ernie’s is a wonderful place. The service is impeccable and the food…can beat most SF restaurants. The chef is incredibly creative and a master at preparing a fantastic steak.
We try to eat at Ernie’s as often as we can. It is the best restaurant in the Valley.
Cool place. We spilled a dessert and they replaced it for free. Wine recommendation was spot on. Top two restaurant for close to 100 miles radius.
It took over 15 minutes to get our cocktails way to long. And they don't blend Margaritas which is a non starter for me and my guests. Gotta get that blender going folks you cannot tell me it's to loud to have a blender when it was louder with people talking at other tables. The food was good however. Also I was told I couldn't wear my last Vegas Raiders ball cap and to me that is another non starter. I spent over 400 dollars and to not have blended Margaritas and told to take off my hat are a deal breaker and won't come back.
The servers were great! the food was amazing! wonderful experience.
Thank you to Gerrardo and Susan, everything was excellent.
We have been there many times this time we had a very loud group next to us using foul language the whole dining room could hear loud and clear. Kinda took away from the experience of a nice restaurant. Servers may have rushed through the courses a little more than normal. What used to be about a 3 hour relaxed meal we were out the door in 2 and were not offered the dessert menu.
Most amazing food in the Area!!
If you want to treat someone I highly recommend it
Well worth the money
The food is always excellent, service is great. the prices are like eating in San Francisco or any Fine Dining Restaurant.
Susan gave us the best service!
The food was great, the wine list amazing. It was really warm in the restaurant though.
This was our second time going to Ernie’s. The first time was great. Good, service and timelines were all on point. This time the food was great and the servers were amazing people. The problem this time was the almost two hours it took to get our food. The kept giving us bread and they asked if we wanted a second round of drinks, two people said yes and the other two said they would wait. They ended up bringing drinks for everyone. We were charged for those. When we asked about our food which was around 9pm and we arrived at 715pm they finally said it was almost ready. Then they asked if we would like a complimentary round of drinks. That was very nice of them. I just think they should have kept us updated about the time it was taking for our meal. Communication makes all the difference.
This was by far the most exquisite fine dining in the 209!
The Best place for a date ! Service, food was great !
- Wonderful environment
- Clean and comfortable
- Good appetizers and main course
- EXTREMELY overpriced
- Wait staff seem confused/scattered
- Desserts were mediocre
This is the only "upscale" restaurant in Manteca and although I would love to visit again, I won't. The biggest turn off is that the food is OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced. If the food was unique or extremely rare, I could understand the prices, but the food isn't unique (save for a meal or two). Overall, if you want to obliterate your bank account for just good food, this is the place for you. Otherwise, make the drive to larger cities for a better meal for a reasonable price.
My husband and I decided to try Ernie’s for the first time. I’m highly upset we haven’t been sooner. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. The service was incredible. Everyone helped each other on the floor. One waitress grabbed our drinks and one waiter took our order. He literally came up to us and said, “I should put in your order before the party of 18 orders. Or else you’ll be here forever!” I absolutely appreciated him for thinking of us. I couldn’t even describe how delicious the food was. We both ordered the Australian Wagyu. We got an order of the crab cakes. Sheesh! I wish I could have Ernie’s again tonight! We will be back for every special occasion. Ernie’s really made our anniversary special. Thanks guy!
Ernies is a hidden gem!! Service and food are amazing!!!
Our first upscale meal in 18 months and worth the wait.
Food was good, was disappointed by the lack of service. I have eaten here before and have usually had a great experience.
Rosa did another amazing job. Food was amazing as always.
As always, the food, service, space......everything about Ernie's just screamed class. It's the best eatery in the valley.
