Ernest’s Orleans Restaurant in keeping with tradition of it’s “Old World Charm” has been serving it’s own unique style and flavors of “The Finest” US Prime Beef, Seafood, and Italian cuisine for over 60 years. It will be the pleasure of our formally trained wait staff to vocalize the exquisite “Chef Features” that are available throughout the week. Our wait staff is also knowledgeable in pairing wines that will accommodate your dining experience. Many accolades, movie stars, and dignitaries are presented in the foyer that tells the tales of many years of it’s very unique and historical “Old World Charm” in serving “The Finest” New Orleans style cuisine.

Sat at the bar and the bartender was great! My Mom and I truly enjoyed the experience and his stories about his days in Salzburg. Delicious dinner as always!

First of all, let me say that the food is always very good. We had the marinated crab claws, followed by fillet mignon with a baked potato and the snapper Shreve. Very, very good. However, with dinner also came a show. Our server was clearly intoxicated. Somehow, he kept it together enough to do a good enough job and paid enough attention to us that it really wasn’t a detriment. Apparently, the substance abuse didn’t stop there. Another employee ended up being escorted out by police after doing cocaine off the floor of the bathroom and defecating herself (no, I am not joking). I only knew this happened because my fiancé was in the restroom when the police were coming in to get her. Finally, the restaurant apparently has a policy that all allows for small toy dogs to sit in dining chairs as long as they have an “emotional support” vest on. I’m a dog person, so this didn’t really bother me, but it was strange to be in a place with $50 entrées and have a small toy dog staring at you. All in all, the night was very entertaining to say the least. The food was great. I’ll be back. But be aware you might see some shenanigans!

Always excellent food and top notch service . I go about once or twice a year for about 10 years. The place is heavily outdated but with the excellent food and service you forget about it, at least I do.

It’s unfortunate all the bad reviews! This place is iconic and the food is out of this world. We had a fantastic waiter Ronald or Donald. Mr. Ernest was seen here and there greeting guests between cooking his delicious food including us. He said I had a great Son. That’s a mom’s greatest compliment! If you don’t want to wait visit on Thursday. I sure hope more people will review better. Seems the only people piping up these days are the ones with a bad experience. Given how much business this place does it doesn’t come close!!

I wasn’t able to try the food since they never seated us so it should receive an N/A but everything else deserves a zero. Our reservation was for 730. We arrived at 720, stood in line to check in (at 730) and then waited till 810, at which time I asked how much longer and was told 45 minutes longer and we left. People were packed in the waiting area like sardines, all with 730 reservations. To say they overbooked would be an understatement. Terrible management. Won’t be back.

My boyfriend and I went to Ernest’s for Valentine’s Day dinner. Pulling up, we were greeted by the most tacky decorations reminiscent of junkyard. There was a fabric arm chair and a “Welcome” yard sign flanking the door. We were greeted by the host and he kindly offered us white wine while we waited. They were very backed up due to the Valentine’s Day. Very understandable. However, the live music made the wait unbearable. The Peanuts and The Flintstones theme song played as we waited for our bread. The garlic bread was delicious despite the wait, my tequila sunrise was strong, but that kind of sums up the highlights. We both ordered ribeyes and shared marinated crab claws. The crab claws were underwhelming and the marinade detracted from the taste of the crab meat. Our ribeyes were not cooked well and there was some sort of A1-like sauce it came drenched in. The ribeyes were also plated with a peach, a lemon, onion rings, a baby tomato, and some spinach. It was *different* and we won’t be back.

I did not enjoy this restaurant the first time and the last time. We arrived early and we were seated at the back of the restaurant our table was by a filthy dirty dusty vent. Our waiter was nice but wasn't very attentive to us. We ate more bread than an actual meal. We didn't receive menus We had to ask for them. The ambiance of the restaurant was very dark and quiet. The waiter didn't even ask to refresh my drink. The filet mignon was tender and because it was so dark I don't even know if it's cooked. Overall it was not enjoyable I don't know if was because they were busy or what but will not come again.

Was seated immediately and the service was excellent. Was a busy Valentine’s Day but they were very attentive. Excellent meal. A bit pricey but no more than expected. Our first time there but will not be our last.
