En Sushi - Los Feliz Ratings and Reviews
We had a FAB experience at this location on a Sat night but we went on a weekday night before a show at the Greek and the food was not as fresh and some of the same dishes ordered on a previous visit were not made the same way and were not as good.
Overall we like En Sushi in Santa Monica and was happy to discover this location for when we are on this side of town. We'd give it another try but disappointed this last time. (wasn't 'bad" but was only average vs the prior visit where it was a perfect 10)
We went on Labor Day when many were closed. This place was busy but we fortunately had a reservation and host was genial. Tuna sashimi was a bit pricey but excellent. Mixed appetizer plate would get mixed review. Roll was really good. Service, though affable, could use some work. It was a bit disorganized.
We come here a few times a month and are never disappointed. The quality of the fish is good and consistent. Which is really what I want in a neighborhood spot. Speciality rolls are well done. Great cucumber and seaweed salad.
Service is very Japanese. Efficient and just enough.
Great neighborhood spot
We're on holidays from Vancouver, BC and were having sushi withdrawl. We arrived at 5:30PM and were the first diners and decided to try dishes that were new and standard to us. The first was the appetizer sampler. Very nice combination of textures, colors and flavours. The tuna was especially fresh and tasty. Next was the Kakiage tempura. Wow! I've never seen this on the menu in Vancouver. Then the caterpiller roll and salmon skin roll. These were on the average side of familiar. We were pretty full after this and decided this was enough. One suggestion would be that the restaruant should not use break away chop sticks. Service was excellent. Very friendly and proficient. We'll be back to try other items.
Went there for my birthday, as it was close to my girlfriends house and I didn't want to drive. We sat at the sushi bar, food was great as I love sushi and the GF was a trooper as I choose food for her and she had not tried sushi before. A fun evening with great food...
The place doesn't look like much from the street and parking is tough, but the food is excellent and the sushi is fresh and the fish/rice ratio is way to the fish side. The rice is lighter than most sushi restaurants, the rolls are delicate and delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the restaurant.
Service was par at best. Which would be acceptable if the food made up for it but sadly no. The sushi was par, the cooked food was a little better, and the sake was sake. I would not recommend this for anyone that really enjoys sushi unless you like your sushi on the rubbery side. There are just too many great sushi places in LA and this is not one of them.
The cooked food was better but nothing fantastic.
Over all the place was "eh"
The Sushi Chefs were really good. However, the servers were awful, especially the tall asian man. We ask the tall asian man for water multiple times, and he brought a glass instead of 2. The latin busboy helped us out and brought another glass of water. The latin busboys were good, and constantly cleaning up. The asian guy and the female hostess had attitude issues. Maybe they own the restaurant??? They definitely do not know what the word "service" means. I told the hostess to check me into opentable, and she said she will. I had a feeling that she wouldn't. I found this out when opentable sent me an inquiry email.
The food were good, but very pricy.
Valet parking was great.
En Sushi is the best sushi in Los Feliz. The quality of the fish is ichiban! The service is great. I love the saki sampler and kama hamachi. We always take guests there and they have all loved the place.I impressed my wife and her girlfreind with the flowers already on the table.
Very good food for sushi lovers and haters alike. If you live in Los Feliz, there's no reason to travel for sushi- En Sushi gets it done at a very high level. All of my LA and NY sushi snobs have had nothing but good things to say. And since I don't eat sushi, I can vouch for the quality of the ginger rib eye, chicken dishes, and hot appetizers. Beautiful presentation as well.
I had been to the West LA location several times, but going to the Los Feliz location was a first. As I've come to know on the Westside, the sushi here is always consistently delicious and reasonably priced. The service was just as excellent and everything was very nice. The fish here is fresh and their specialities are innovative and creative with flavor. We kept it simple this time and had mostly sushi and sashimi. En Sushi has been my go-to sushi place for a long time. Love it!
Found En Sushi on Open Table while searching for open restaurants on Xmas day after a movie at the ArcLight Hollywood. This was a great find. They have a great selection of Sake and Special Sushi Rolls. Service was friendly and attentive. Price a little on the high side as are many sushi restaurants.
We especially liked the Caterpillar roll, because usually the eel at other sushi restaurants seems to either be REALLY overly salty or has a fishy aftertaste, but the Caterpillar roll at En Sushi was mild with no fishy aftertaste whatsoever. We came on a Saturday night during peak dinner hours and were seated right away by a friendly host, who also seemed like he was the manager or owner. The menu selection was vast and the specials inventive.Service was attentive and expeditious as well. If there was anything for the "cons" section for our dining experience, it would be to increase the portion for the sashimi (by just a little) and to make the sake a little more affordable...$15 for a small bottle of Nagori Sake seems just a tad overpriced.
The waiters are short staffed. Service was poor. They didn't even greet me Happy Birthday even thought my online reservation had a note telling the Maitre'd of the reason for the event. Also, I'm dissatisfied that they are no longer a member of the dining rewards network. Now there is no incentive for me to return there.
