Emerald Loop Bar and Grill
We had a blast here! My mom loved dancing to the music. We ordered the wings, the fish and chips, the mac and cheese, and the greek chicken wrap. All were excellent!!
Used to be a solid lunch spot but quality and service was a bit lacking.
Enjoyed our visit and we would definitely go
We were visiting Chicago for our anniversary. The restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel and we were able to get a reservation. It’s an attractive establishment. A bit of a sports bar ambience but the noise level was not overwhelming. The food was not the typical sports bar food. The food was excellent and the menu diverse. I have celiac and had no problem finding something to eat.
This is definitely a restaurant We would recommend and will frequent anytime we are in Chicago.
Food was terrible, server was on her 2nd week which she was fine but very slow and took over an hour to get food. The appetizer and all of our entrees were absolutely terrible
Food and drinks were okay, but service was not good as expected.
Had reservations and got seated quickly. Drinks ordered and delivered fairly quickly and that’s where it stopped. Beer glasses were dirty and cloth napkin had food still stuck to it. After drinks were delivered we waited about 25 minutes and our server never came back to get our food order. Flagged down a guy who was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt (nothing identifying him as someone employed by the restaurant) who was going to tables asking how the service was. I told him we had been waiting almost 30 minutes for our server to return. Ends up he was the owner so he took our order and left. Our server came back after a few minutes and re-took our order. Food arrived about 10 minutes later was just so-so. A little over priced for “bar food”. Not the best experience but being it was a last minute booking on Sunday night on Memorial Day weekend it is what it is. Won’t be returning.
Great find! Delicious food and friendly staff!
Never had a bad experience in my 10+ visits here.
Good food, fast service, prices were pretty good, except for the $2 tiny cup of guacamole
Mixed bag - my husbands meal was excellent he said, my salad was very blah, hummus plate was great, daughters wrap was so/so. Service was not good but not horrible. Below average for sure - many times drinks were empty with no one offering to refill.
The Emerald is one of our favorite within walking distance of our house. We almost always order the nachos, with brisket, which is very tasty. The menu has a good variety, and the list of Scotch whiskeys is excellent.
Fun, upbeat atmosphere! The food was great and nice variety of beer/drinks. Our waiter, however, seemed to have forgotten about us. Luckily, we weren’t pressed for time.
Isra, our server was amazing. He gave fantastic recommendations on food and drinks. Will be back!
Took way too long for food to come to the table.
I would only recommend Emerald Loop for the food because it was delicious. However, the service was poor. I had to ask for refills on my tables’ drinks and when I was paying electronically from the table, the waitress didn’t inform me of my total nor did she give me a receipt. I was told “card please” with her hand open for the card. I’ve never experienced something like this before, it was strange. I won’t know what the total is until the bank statement comes in.
I loved our waitress I believe her name was Gracie. She was so sweet and made us so comfortable
Waiter was amazing and the food was incredible. This place was one of my favorite food stops in our trip to Chicago!
Fun happy hour drink options, the wedge salad is fulfilling, and the french onion soup is divine!
The server never came back to our table after he took drinks and appetizers order. We had to go to the bar to get another drink
My sons and I were in town from out of state to check out some exhibits and look at a college my son is planning on attending and saw Emerald Loop on Open Table and thought, why not? They did not miss- not once. Everything was amazing and their Shepherds Pie was a religious experience. I will come here again... and again... and again... you get the picture.
Fairly disappointed for myriad reasons. The biggest issue was the service. Our server looked like he didn't care very much and was generally clueless. What was on tap? What would you recommend? How about stopping by once every 50 minutes? Little to nothing. We asked for him to get someone to change the channel right in front of us (some idiotic drama was on when the NCAA tournament was in full swing). Nothing. Asked another totally different server who got a manager to change the channel. FINALLY. Then two minutes later--it goes back to the same ridiculous drama. We gave up. Our server then brings our food--oh wait..no. He brings us a random appetizer which we didn't order. Then INSISTED to my wife that she had ordered it. Really? Upon telling him directly we didn't order an appetizer for three times, he then double checks his ticket, and we see him deliver the order to a table three tables over. No apologies, nothing. Astounding! Our meal was *meh* at best. Brisket grilled cheese might have had potential, but was delivered cold. The cheese wasn't even melted anymore but had solidified into something plasticky. It was like they wwere waiting on an order of fries--which were scalding hot but not even cooked through. P.S. Meal was delivered. Zero silverware. Zero napkins. I had to actually get up and snag them from a work station by the bar. My wife and I are rarely able to go out, and this was a huge disappointment as we are always up for an awesome Irish pub. Service and quality destroyed any chance we would even think about coming back here with a thousand other better options out there.
Awesome food and atmosphere along with the service.
Love this place. Always have. Awesome food and drinks per usual. Of course I will be back
Great food in a fun, authentic Irish pub setting. We had the corned beef sandwich and Guinness beef stew. The stew was fantastic! We didn’t drink, but they seemed to serve up a fun cocktail menu as well. Great little stop in the Loop if you are looking for that Irish pub vibe.
Emerald Loop always makes my Irish eyes smile! Great food - seriously, the brisket grilled cheese with the tomato bisque soup is possibly the best dish in the city. Great service, clean, friendly - a taste of the motherland right here in Chicago.
The pickles don’t taste like pickles 😂 that was a waste but everything else was amazing. Loved my server, tall dark slim guy, he kept checking up on us, he was polite, paid attention in terms of refills etc. he did great.
Service was excellent and when me mask strap broke, the waiter brought me a replacement mask. Loved that!
Great place for drinks and food. Would recommend again!
First time trying an Irish Pub. Decided on the fish, pretty good with the malt vinegar. Restaurant is a little noisy but not unbearable. It became very crowded fast so the server was not available or attentive.
Slow service, mediocre food, overpriced, and they don't serve tap water.... you only can buy water bottles. Add to all that a customer that got hostile and loud (so the police were called), and it is needless to say we will not go back.
Great place for drinks! Would recommend to anyone!
Service was fantastic but the food was not at all worth the price.
Great service. Distanced. Masks! Reasonable prices
Just stopped by for lunch on way home after being at the gym. Comfortable vibe - food was tasty, service very good. I’ll probably go back.
Good comfort food and lots of beer on tap. nice big and roomy dining with high tops and tables. always have the games on.
This place was awesome! The service was excellent the drinks were amazing.
We were provided with excellent customer service from the gentleman that took our order and our food was delicious! We will be eating here every time we visit Chicago. Thank you! 10/10 recommend visiting this gem!
Fun seating outside on NYE!
Great friendly service!
not the best experience
I wouldnt go back a second time
