Food was wonderful. Service great. It was a wonderful brunch.
First time at Elm. Great food and the wait staff was very helpful.
We were taken immediately , the Service was speedy, and the food was excellent, even though the restaurant was lively and full.
Great food, excellent service and nice environment. We tried and enjoyed quite a number of dishes. Lobster Cobb salad was my favorite for this particular visit.
Lovely ambience Attentive wait staff great safety partitions in DR Immaculate wine glasses and wine perfectly chilled
The Elm is so consistent. The quality and service is always friendly, professional and relaxed at the same time. Soft music in the background and great tasting food. We had the kale salad, side of fries and the grilled Branzino. It was perfect for a late night meal.
We always make sure to stop by when we visit New Cannan. We can’t wait to return!
Combines stellar service with spectacular cuisine.
Great service, great food. I have an allergy and the staff and kitchen were very accommodating.
The tandoori chicken liver mouse was fantastic and great value. Service was great and nice ambiance
We enjoyed Friday afternoon tea at Elm and it was sublime. Everything from the scones to the savories to the sweets were excellent. Our server was attentive and quick, yet the experience was not rushed. Highly recommend!
Consistently good quality over the years. Can't go wrong here. Menu was missing a few things that showed up online, but that's nitpicking.
Best restaurant in New Canaan. Food, service and ambience cannot be beat. not cheap but you get what you pay for. Favorites Mains are the bass, lumache and chopped salad with a protein of choice. Mussels are a great app. Burger is awesome too.
Terrific brunch menu. Great service. Will definitely go back.
Great date night spot! Fun atmosphere for cocktails or dinner
We sat outside and it was a gorgeous night. The food was great - the service was a little off - the good news is the restaurant was really busy! The menu is eclectic but all really good
Great food and courteous staff!
This was our first trip to Elm, and we loved it. Food was exceptional, as was the service.
So good!!! We love Elm. The staff is so friendly and the food delicious.
Sat outside on lovely Sept day for lunch. Clean, lovely atmosphere. Cheerful and attentive service. Food came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautiful. Looking forward to returning!
Great food/attention to our table. Restrooms definitely need some attention though.
Wonderful lunch at elm
Afternoon tea was festive and fun. Creative interpretation of a traditional tea—we were wowed by the food and presentation. Service, as always at Elm, was spot-on.
Such an amazing lunch, service was impeccable! Great food, excellent service, perfect atmosphere! Will highly recommend to others!
This place never disappoints! The menu is fun, the dishes impeccably prepared and beautifully plated, and the service is excellent (if not always cheerful). The only issue with our amply-sized outdoor table on a lovely Tuesday afternoon was the din of the garbage and delivery trucks passing by.
Afternoon Tea outside was such a relaxing treat watching the world stroll by….I highly recommend.
Service here is always meh. The staff has zero training, we always wait at least 30 min to place our order, and it’s just consistently bad.
It was a double date for my husband s birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, topped by our waiter who went above and beyond, he made our night with seamless service and happy vibes and little surprise candle and cookies at the end of our dinner.
Had a great lunch.
Really looked forward to coming here, so definitely let down by the overall quality of food. I had the Branzino, my husband had the Smoked Chicken Bowl, and we shared the Pork Bao Buns to start.
Nearly everything described was ok, not great and definitely not exceptional. I have no problem paying a premium, but expect high quality and can honestly only rate this meal as middle of the pack. Won’t be going back as there are much better places for the price point.
We were told that we could only get an 11:30 table for lunch and when we arrived awe were the only people in the restaurant. The music was blaring and after half an hour of sitting there we had to get up and ask for a waiter to come. The waiter came to take our food order, before anyone had asked offered us drinks. After lunch they offered us coffee, without asking if we would like dessert. We asked for the dessert menu, and they brought the coffee first. The staff was disinterested and disorganized and the restaurant interior looked tired and worn. I would not go back. Elm used to be excellent and stylish. This was not
I got together with an old friend from out of town for lunch. The food and setting was great.
Wonderful happy staff and delicious
Everything was great; due to the crowds, it was pretty loud for a regular conversation - that was a negative, and initially we sat for a good 30 min before we got a menu. But the food was terrific and overall it was a very good experience!
This was our second dinner at Elm in a week. Both times our water glasses were never refilled during the meal. In addition, Our empty pre-dinner cocktail glasses sat on the edge of the table throughout our dinner. Many servers and bus staff walked past our table several times and not one of them noticed the empty glasses lined up along the edge of the table. Elm has elevated the dining scene in New Canaan with the food they put out. The wait staff needs to be trained to match the excellent cuisine. We appreciated the complementary birthday dessert. One other observation is likely out of the restaurant's control is that many of the patrons looked like they just rolled out of bed and came to dinner. Ratty t-shirts and sweatpants were the chosen articles of clothing to wear to arguably the most expensive, nicest restaurant in New Canaan. This is just unfortunate. But we'll be back!
The first courses were amazing. Grilled little gem salad was indeed a gem. Grilled artichoke was good too. I like the way the tables are separated by glass. You feel socially distanced but still part of the whole scene. I recommend Elm St to all.
Amazing food as always! So nice to sit outside and people watch and enjoy the food.
Honestly the food is always great and the service is even better! It’s a very sophisticated restaurant that makes you feel welcome and comfortable without being snobby or stuffy. Very cool chic plates and the room just has a great vibe.
It’s always great for friends, date or families. It’s feel like a NYC restaurant but without all the drama.
Major disappointment at the start of my birthday weekend! Our waitress was very kind and sweet to start off with but then grew absent and we barely saw her. Every question we asked was like asking her to some major activity. The tea was nice but while nice was not enough food at all and not worth the value. I’d go back and try regular menu items bur don’t come here for afternoon tea. It was a major disappointment to start my birthday weekend.
