Food was over priced and lacking flavor. The only saving grace for this place was the good service and nice location/ambience.
Excellent food and the fusion between Spain and Cuban cuisine is great.
Ambient is nice, excellent service.
Best paella in Houston
I took good friends there from France, who are used to great food, wine and ambiance. They loved it! We were with 2 small kids as well, and the hosts were so gracious and attentive - we departed as good friends
Delicious tapas and paella in a relaxed environment and a nice selection of wines. Waiters with personality! Only a few parking spots in front for $5.
Very pleased with all aspects of the restaurant, so much so that I did not ask for a list of charges for the items order. If you have such please send on.

The food was very good! My friend and I sampled a variety of tapas, my favorite was the bacon-wrapped dates! Next, and there will be a next time, I'll be sure to try the entrees...
Our go to place for easy dining, good food and reasonably priced. Love it there.
Greatly enjoyed the food at El Meson. The bread was the best that I tasted in a long time. The tapas and paella were all excellent. I will definitely make a return visit.
Our third visit for tapas and they were quite good as usual. Service was excellent.
Absolutely love this Restaurant! We have been eating here over 20 years. Great menu but kind of pricey!
Always a great meal..... great service
Service was excellent! Enjoyed most of the tapas we ordered. Was disappointed in the white asparagus as it was jarred not fresh! Also, the potatoes with roasted pepper sauce was poor. The shrimp with mushrooms, beef with mushrooms and foie gras were outstanding. We will be back!
Great choices from tapas to entrées. The wine selection will amaze a true wine lover.
AMAZING FOOD & GREAT SERVICE!! The paella is the best in Houston!
Great neighborhood spot, with cooked to order food. The Paella was A+ , the carne aside was A+, the Aguacate salad was A+. Great service and charming atmosphere.
Went on Mother’s Day and we were greeted by the friendliest people ever! The octopus and red snapper ceviche was excellent.
We had a good time, enjoyed the food, which, while not exceptional, was good. The egg drop soup, the spinach, the salad, was excellent. The pork tapas was overcooked, the mashed potatoes was a terrible disappointment. Their entrees figured impossible 16 oz pork chops. Who eats like that these days. So we stuck with ordering different tapas, which was sufficient.
All in all a very enjoyable evening with good atmosphere and good food.
Great food, and great service. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for Tapas or Fusion food.
The Paella is delicious!
20 years since my last meal there and not only was it as good as the last time, it was even better than I remembered. Great service, nice selection of tapas, great ambiance, and delicious food. Ordered two entrees because I couldn’t decide what I wanted. Everything was delicious. Hopefully I’ll make it back to Houston before another 20 years goes by.
Great place for a Latin Lunch with friends
Great service by our waiter, Jesus. The food was delicious. Still one of my favorite restaurants.
Food was different but tasty, but a good change from usual pace. No complimentary chips and salsa. Music level was low. When we walked in, the crowd resembled more of an upper class Luby's; we did have a 6pm reservation though. It was not super kid friendly either--no kid menu. As a side note, we were seated next to the back bar, which doubled as the "office" when a manager stood while working on the computer, and break room as the staff gathered to sit on the floor and chat while we were having our dinner...was weird. I liked the food, and our server, but will not be back.
Their tapas were excellent, great portions and had a lot of great flavor. Our favorite was probably the octopus
One of our favorite places for the last 20 years! Best Mojito in town. Cuban dishes are always amazing.
Hostess and waiter were not friendly at all , barely a smile , very forced to give adequate service , that being said , 1st time that this has happened , excellent food and ambience
Everything was excellent - as usual.
Best Frozen Margaritas in Houston, TX !!
Lovely as always. Food was very good. Very nice ambiance.
Service was great and the food wonderful. The scallop & asparagus tapas was perfect as was the steak. We split our entree for a reasonable split fee. The rice and plantain were perfect companions to the steak.
It was too expensive for the quality and authenticity of the food
Food and service in a family friendly environment is always guaranteed.
Start your meal with a tapas of croquetas and finish off with a capucino and flan
We are frequent diners. We love it. Great wine list. Ask for Jessica to help with your wine selection. We have had everything on the menu and it is all great. Food, service...it's all great and neighborhood atmosphere.
Second time to dine and the food and service was excellent.
Love this resto , great food , wine list , atmosphere , service
Rad tapas and good scotch
Like always great food n service. Great job and keep it up! See you soon ! Thank you
Definitely a more relaxed atmosphere. Food is fantastic, but be patient for paella. It takes 40 min to make and the cost is not reflected on the menu. Paella for one person is 30, but you are required to buy 2 servings. I don’t get that if I go alone.
Service was great, not as friendly as I’d have liked specially providing more knowledge on their food. It was more of an inconvenience to ask. My friend ordered beer and the beer selection was minimal, but the server didn’t provide him with what’s available. Again, service needs training on courtesy.
I’d definitely recommend the place. It’s amazing. I ordered black paella and nothing from a heavenly meal. The tapas are super small, so expect to order at least 4.
