The restaurant has a unique mission; to eat well and do good. Founded in 2007, the mission of EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute is to instill leadership skills in formerly incarcerated men and women through an education in the culinary arts.
Our aim is to change the face of re-entry through food and hospitality.

Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service!! We look forward to coming here again on future dates!
Fabulous grouper dish and decadent dark chocolate pyramid for dessert.
We ate outside and it was great. The service and food were outstanding! I highly recommend the bananas Foster.
We had an incredible meal. Everything was prepared to perfection. Wonderful, attentive staff. It could not have been a better experience.
This was our second visit to Edwins. The food, wine, service were impeccable. Every staff member is friendly and helpful. This place is a gem!
The service was very good and the staff are incredibly friendly and have a great positive attitude. The cocktails were very good, flavorful and creative. The food however was disappointing especially after reading all the glowing reviews online we expected a much higher standard and sadly we were disappointed. The lamb chops were tasty but a bit tough and fatty. The escargot was okay. The duck was very flavorful but really tough eat and that made the meal disappointing. I did mention this to our server and one of the managers and they just seemed surprised. The soufflé was very light and airy but had an overpowering egg flavor that even the Grand Marnier topping couldn't mask. Edwin's is consistently ranked among the best restaurants in Cleveland and it certainly is not cheap. I would consider giving it another chance but our first experience here has left us sadly disappointed.
It was our first time there. Our meals were wonderful and service was great. We will go back!
First, and foremost, the service was impeccable.
Certainly the best since postCOVID and one of the best ever.
The dinner was superb. I’m considering canceling tomorrow’s reservation to return to Edwin’s tomorrow.
The Institute’s mission is even more of a reason to enjoy and support this restaurant.
A wonderful experience! Service, food and ambiance all come together to give us a memorable and delicious experience. We love the restaurant and their phenomenal mission.
My wife ordered the lobster bisque, and i ordered the grilled seafood sausage in homage to David Waltuck. There was lobster white fish, scallops, shrimp and pine nutswith a shallot beurre blanc. As the famous chef Mr Zimmerman came to Cleveland in 2019 said it was to die for. For the Main dish we ordered the pressed duck for two.(We gave our 24 hour notice for this,as it was prepared tableside. The entire staff from the valet for our car to the wait staff were incredible.
My wife I went to Edwin’s restaurant in Shaker Square recently.
The place is relatively small and laid out comfortably. Tables aren’t too close and it’s fairly quiet. Our server has been at Edwin’s for only one month, and it showed. He regularly had to check with others on the staff before he could answer our questions. However, he was pleasant and very friendly. He was accurate and timely in his serving duties.
We each started with a salad. One was a spinach salad with strawberries, glazed pecans, and an orange vinaigrette. The other was a combination of greens, warm goat cheese, pears, and champagne vinaigrette. It was delicious.
We chose 6 cheeses from their cheese cart and shared them. All were good and fresh, with a guava jam to accompany the cheese. Very good.
For our main dishes, one was filet mignon, while the other was scallops. The beef was fork tender and flavorful. It was nestled in a wine reduction sauce that complimented the meat perfectly. The dish came with roasted potatoes and asparagus. The sea scallops were seared with morel mushrooms and placed on a mound of Parmesan risotto with spring peas. It was outstanding, with the scallops plump, flavorful, tender, and free of any sand, which I’ve experienced elsewhere in the past.
I would be remiss to not mention the fresh-baked bread, which is made in Edwin’s bakery, a separate building open for breakfast and pastries during the day. The bread was dense and had a slight chew to it.
We were too full to have dessert, but we did bring two home with us. The first, strawberry and rhubarb bread pudding was terrific. We shared it when we arrived home. We also brought home a chocolate pyramid, which will remain in the refrigerator until another time.
All in all, Erwin’s was worth our visit.
We had a wonderful time! Every person was incredibly friendly, and the food was amazing.
Food was good. Not spectacular, but very classically prepared French dishes and done well. The service was atrocious. Our waiter spent 10 minutes collecting drink orders alone, asking each of us over 3 times what we wanted and struggling to write the orders down. After 25 minutes, and inquiring where our drinks were, he stated he forget to put them in!!!
Ambience was very nice. Decent selection of aperitif’s.
If it weren’t for our waiter it would have been a fine evening. Will be tough to try again though considering the experience.
We were celebrating a friends retirement with a special dinner at Edwins. Our server did a great job and the rest of the team was there to refill bread, water anything else. Two of us had the grouper and two of us had the salmon. All dishes were perfect and delicious. Always a lovely dining experience at Edwins.
Absolutely excellent experience. We had a wonderful evening. Food was spectacular as was the service
Yet again the staff hit our dinner out of the park. Service was great! Food amazing!
My new favorite restaurant, hands down! Exceptional food, fantastic service, and perfect ambience! The foie gras entree was awesome. The rabbit with dijon sauce was perfectly cooked, and then the bananas foster, prepared table side was a perfect end to a perfect dinner.
Best French food in Cleveland!
Fantastic wine list
Edwins is always a favorite of ours. The cheese trolly is to die for. We love the artichokes and the grouper wrapped in potatoes. The mission Of edwins is one of the big draws in addition to the great food.
We have been looking forward to dining here for quite awhile and we’re not disappointed! Everyone was attentive and professional, helpful with menu options , and made it a wonderful evening.
Combines incredible food, a wonderful dining experience, and a fantastic way of improving and supporting society! Despite their menu being primarily fine French cuisine (all of which is delicious), I recommend ordering the burger because they bring out the beef cubes and grind it in front of you!
Great food, wonderful presentation, friendly service, easy valet parking.
Absolutely wonderful! The food was outstanding as always and love the socially conscious mission. If we could all have the same conscience and purpose the world would be a better place.
Sat outside and enjoyed a warm summer breeze. Waiters and waitresses were very attentive as always. Food and drink was great!
Great food , service and atmosphere . Loved it
This is one of my favorite restaurants. I love their cheese cart with amazing cheese and knowledgeable staff. The banana foster is a show and indulgent.
every dish was well prepared and the ingredients were high quality. the menu is varied and imaginative. the service is friendly and efficient.
Excellence everywhere from the initial greeting, ambiance, server and food. And Brandon making sure that everything was perfect.
Had a wonderful time dining at Edwin’s. The bartender was quite knowledgeable and engaging. Our waiter was attentive and personable.
Dined at Edwins for a nice birthday dinner. The staff was very prompt and attentive during the entire visit. The time between soup/salad and the main entree was a little slower than I would have liked, but the wait was well worth it. The food was excellent. My wife had the scallops and I had the Grouper. Both the taste and display were superb. We will definitely return in the future.
If you have not taken your loved one or heart-felt friend to Edwin's Restaurant yet, you are doing yourself and them a true disservice. From the moment we walked in, to the monent we sat down to fresh delicious bread, to the moment we were drinking our memorable after dinner coffee and every moment in between was spectacular. Every taste was cooked, seasoned and present remarkably. We met the owner and many other very pleasant people. We enjoyed the space for nearly 3 hours and every moment was unforgetable.
A fantastic meal and fantastic service. We always look forward to our visit there.
Excellent night out with my wife! The grouper entree was phenomenal. Blood orange cosmos were expertly mixed.
Great service with a great meal to remember. Party included a handicapped individual and was handled beautifully.
One of my favorite restaurants in Cleveland! Amazing French cuisine and great ambience!
This was our second trip to Edwins and it was, again, a delightful experience. Staff is very attentive and friendly and food is excellent.
This was the first visit to a French restaurant for my wife and 2 children and it was amazing! Staff was great and the food left us wanting more. We felt the value of the whole experience was way worth the price.
A favorite spot in the CLE. Classically prepared dishes - exquisitely done - and unique menu items with a French flair. Extensive wine list, appreciate the offerings from France and all over the world to complement the meal. Wine prices range from by the glass affordable to special celebration splurges. We had the pan seared grouper encased in crispy potato slices with a delectable buerre rouge sauce (butter and red wine) - delectable ! Topped off the meal with incredible creme brûlée. Don’t miss the cart of fromage - a lesson in cheese. Service was friendly and accommodating to special requests (my partner has dietary restrictions), which we so appreciated. Enjoyed sitting on their patio on a lovely summer evening. Love the mission of this restaurant and can’t wait to go back !
Fabulous meal and service, as always. We highly recommend Edwins!
