The restaurant has a unique mission; to eat well and do good. Founded in 2007, the mission of EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute is to instill leadership skills in formerly incarcerated men and women through an education in the culinary arts.
Our aim is to change the face of re-entry through food and hospitality.
Best French food in Cleveland. Great place. Outstanding in every way.
Everything about this restaurant was fabulous. Can’t wait to go back. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Service and food were excellent
Pleasant. However due to restaurant week it was noisier than usual and the food was not quite as good. One got the feeling things were too busy and rushed. Not as pleasant as usual.
Very good experience and food. My Steak was more rare than I requested but sauce and side was excellent. Server was very good but he kept forgetting my wine. My oldest son had never had steak tartare, rabbit or frog legs before. He was absolutely raving about everything. Foie gras was my favorite. Will return again and again.
Top to bottom from food to ambiance, Edwin’s delivers.
Food was excellent as always. Service was what you come to expect at Edwin’s, very enthusiastic and accepting of your help. We all tried dishes we had not had before and everyone was happy, though I would take my wife’s pasta next time over the salmon that I chose.
Our experience at Edwin’s exceeded our high expectations. We had confidence the food would be great. What we didn’t expect was the intimate yet vibrant ambiance. We walked in the door and thought to myself “I want to stay here all night!” The architecture, the lighting, the table positions, the background music, the fireplace, the stone, etc etc...fantastique! The menu was awesome, the service cheerful and the food absolutely delicious!
It’s just such a wonderful overall experience. The staff is so friendly and polite. The concept of this restaurant is truly amazing and the food was outstanding!
In addition to having some of the best food in Cleveland-- and the high end is, happily, hotly contested here-- Edwin's may be the most stylish dining experience in town. It's served really well to ebullient and discerning diners.
Excellent food, fine service and a powerful missions, which moved us deeply and left us regarding this as one of our best dining experiences.
Really great food and service. The cheese cart is a must and should not be missed.
This was one of the most delicious and decadent meals my friends and I have ever eaten. We loved the table-side preparations for our table and those throughout the restaurant. The oysters (special) were so fresh and didn’t have any grit or brininess...wonderful and authentic French cuisine.
Beautiful restaurant. Very caring staff. A truly great experience!
Great service. Very attentive staff. The food was not only delicious but was a beautiful work of art. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to all of my friends.
This is a place to have a lovely dinner and to feel good about it. This was my 3rd visit to Edwins, and I am not from Cleveland. I continue to tell people about this restaurant and what a difference it makes in peoples' lives.
And, it is a fantastic French menu, all the classics.
Service was excellent food was exceptional
It was great. Fantastic service, delicious food and the best cheese cart !
It was the perfect conclusion to a day out with my daughter.
Very welcoming and a warm atmosphere throughout our time there. The food was terrific and everything went very smoothly. The creme brûlée was great!
We love EDWINS because the service is great, there are delicious vegan entrees, and a very nice wine list.
Excellent food. All apps and entries delivered. Too bad I live 7 hours away in NJ and only came for a visit. I would have been a regular there
I had the most amazing three dishes ever - The horseradish crusted salmon was fantastic. I never ever had seafood sausage stuffed with shrimp, lobster, whitefish and scallops before and it was superb. The escargot was excellent. The servers were very attentive and clearly focusing on French style responsive friendly service. I can't wait to go back again.
We began with amazing starter salads, moved onto the charcuterie platter as an appetizer to share and split the Le Burger...and then had the cheese cart for dessert! All servers are amazingly attentive...we both drink water like we are camels and yet our glasses were always full! The amazing ladies working both the burger cart and cheeses cart really took our experience to a very special place...my mom felt so spoiled and pampered by all of the great attention and interaction...thanks to Brandon and his amazing team for another epic dining event!!!
This was our 2nd visit to Edwin's and the 1st for our out-of-town visitor from MN. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, food and service. Despite the tables being close to each other, the noise level was not problematic at all. Our visitor said that he had never had service as good as this ... anywhere. Every staff member was very professional and knowledgable about the restaurant, food and beverages. We'd highly recommend this restaurant not only for their staff, food and beverages but also for the concept they espouse. More restaurants and businesses ought to use this concept of hiring and training individuals who might not otherwise be given a chance to learn and grow and improve their lives. Kudos to Edwin's!
The food is well prepared and in the traditional French fashion with a some enjoyable new twists. My dining partner said that the LeBurger, which is freshly ground (filet mignon and short ribs) and prepared tableside Diane-style, was the best burger that he’s ever had. The trout is one of my favorites. Service can be a little slow on weekends but the restaurant also serves as a teaching kitchen so be patient with the staff.
This was one of the nicest French meals we've had. The service was professional and amiable. We enjoyed everything from start to finish.
I went to Edwin’s for my birthday. The staff and servers were unbelievably welcoming and friendly. They catered to our every need both asked and unasked; going above and beyond to ensure that we were enjoying our experience. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Also, it feels wonderful to support a business with such a great cause.
Terrific first time experience at Edwins! Very attentive service where the owner, Branden, seemed to be among the hardest workers on the floor. Menu items off the special daily menu was a little pricey, but was superbly prepared and delicious. Looking forward to the patio this summer.
We were out for a belated Valentine's dinner, and told our server we were in no hurry. He adapted his pace and we had a lovely three-hour dinner experience. The place was packed, even the bar, yet we felt we got very relaxed and personal service. Our server helped us with our wine selection, offering history of the Argentinian Malbec we selected. We shared the Shirred egg (perfect yolk!) entree and the poached pear salad. Both excellent. Main dishes: I went for different, and was pleased with the venison, medium rare with a tart/sweet side of red cabbage and almond spaetzle - the crispy spaetzle was good enough to have been its own dish! My wife got the grouper, which was wrapped in paper-thin slices of crispy potato on a buerre blanc that was to die for -- we soaked up all the buttery sauce with our bread, so as not to waste a drop. Then, dessert. Since we had time we opted to wait 25 mins for the Grand Marnier Souffle. While waiting, we got to see the made-at-the-table sirloin burger performance at the next table, as well as a bananas foster made on the other side of the room. Food as entertainment! Finally, the souffle arrived, along w/ coffee and an order of the apple Bread Pudding. Both desserts were amazing; the souffle was light and sugary, a perfect complement to the heavier pudding. By far the highlight was the vanilla cream - intended to pour over the souffle, we ended up using it all over the pudding, too. Because heavy cream!
Overall, it was a rare complete dining experience -- the staff were gracious, friendly, and professional, the pacing and ambiance were perfect, and EVERY SINGLE COURSE was delicious.
Always a pleasurable experience dining at Edwin’s. Staff was fantastic and their recommendations were spot on for the cheese selection. The venison was tender and the trout- soon to be permanently on the menu- was excellent!
The food was spot on the service was great and the staff was very attentive. My only complaint is when we asked what something on the menu was, our server responded with “I don’t know”. He didn’t offer to find out or ask anyone. I had to look it up on my phone. But seriously..... this place and their mission is amazing. My wife and I have been to their medina location and it was awesome as well.
the food was mostly great but a few things were under-seasoned and the sauce on the salmon was bland. We loved the atmosphere and the bar staff (we ate at the bar) was so incredibly friendly and nice.
Love the food and service!!!!!
Ambiance was romantic and cozy. We had the pressed duck for two! The meal was terrific and the service impeccable! The blood sauce was prepared tableside-what an unforgettable experience.
The food was excellent but there was so much more that made our evening so enjoyable. The staff was attentive and friendly. They were not overbearing.
We also really appreciated the acoustics. The dining room and bar were full and we could actually have a conversation at our table with having to shout. This is rare as the noise level in so many restaurant is near deafening.
Lovely meal with interesting cocktails. Incredible desserts!
Edwins provides an elegant dining room with a very attentive wait staff. The venison we had was done perfectly though the side of spaetzel was drier then I was hoping for . . . The cabbage was very good. We were very flattered to have the owner come and chat with us. We had an exceptional dining experience!
Beautiful place, great service, wonderful mission -- but minor problems with the food kept me from fully enjoying the visit. Dessert souffle was too scrambled eggs in taste, lobster bisque was bitter, too many air bubbles in the bread. Likewise, noise level was a bit much for me & my guest.
