The restaurant has a unique mission; to eat well and do good. Founded in 2007, the mission of EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute is to instill leadership skills in formerly incarcerated men and women through an education in the culinary arts.
Our aim is to change the face of re-entry through food and hospitality.
Dinner: Monday - Wednesday: 4:00pm - 10:00pm, Thursday - Saturday: 4:00pm - 11:30pm. Closed Sunday.
Would prefer the music dining outside to be a little quieter
Relaxed upscale atmosphere, delicious French inspired food and, most importantly, great cause. Our main course did take a little bit of time to arrive, but the staff kept coming around to check on us and provide more bread and butter. The owner was out on the floor checking on guests and helping servers. Nice guy, authentic air about him. Enjoyed it lots!
We went there for the first time, celebrating my husband’s birthday. We had a good time and would go back again.
The food was great - he ordered the wild boar chops special and I had the tomato linguine with clams for entree. We also had appetizers and dessert. Overall a great dining experience. Joseph and George were great - professional, helpful and very friendly.
Creative Classic French cuisine in a beautiful, comfortable environment served by a warm and caring staff. EDWINS provides inspiration as well as gastronomic delights.
Another great dining experience with the Girls and a Birthday Celebration! Dinner was excellent. We all enjoyed our meals. Cannot wait to dine again in the fall to experience the interior part of the restaurant. Thanks for everything!
The team did a good job. Our waitress Brenda was excellent and fun. Thank you for a special birthday celebration for our mom.
Love the mission. The food was delicious. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s worth it. Praying for great success
Arlen was a great waiter and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this exceptional french restaurant. From the chilled artichoke soup to the elderflower bread budding with blueberry ice cream-- everything from the service to the food to the knowledge of the employees was exceptional. Thank You.
Pefect birthday celebration!
Edwin's never disappointed. After eating here on multiple occasions ( including a fairly big birthday party) we always felt satisfied and wanted to come back the first chance we have.
Took my Husband there for his birthday! Food and atmosphere was FABULOUS! Can't wait to go back.
We love eating here.
From the server to the host, you are discreetly tented to; the food is of amazing quality and tastes are down to earth and original. The menu is no-frill and real; appetizers are few but mouthwatering. Best place to have the duck entree. We had Le Burger, assembled in front of us and the sauce was put together right by the table. An original, real restaurant, worth revisiting again and again.
This was our 4th visit over a few years. Incredible service, innovative menu, wonderful experience. Every request promptly and kindly responded too. Really cool renovated space.
don't miss this experience !!
Edwin's excellent reputation preceded our dinner and it certainly lived up to it! Two of us had their pressed duck (ordered 24 hours in advance) and loved the presentation at the table, the wonderful rich sauce and the perfectly done fowl. We did think that it could easily serve 3/4 diners rather than the recommended 2.
We appreciated the attentive service, the reasonably priced wine list as well as many other beautifully prepared dishes.
Everyone was very pleasant and attentive. Our servers were outstanding. We enjoyed the food and the ambiance.
We had a table near the kitchen so there was a lot of noise and traffic around us. Waiter was very nice and attentive. The food was mediocre at best. Service was uneven.
The food was fantastic and the service was great! We would definitely return. The restaurant is nicely decorated and it is popular and the place was full. We very much enjoyed the experience.
Brought two friends who had never been to Edwin's before. They loved it so much that one of them was going to bring her husband the next time and the other friend was going to bring a friend the next night!!! A wonder French culinary experience. My husband and I have been there for our anniversary and his birthday. Food selections are interesting and delicious and the waiters are wonderful!
We went to Edwin's to celebrate my boyfriend getting a job. It was the perfect place. The food was outstanding. The meats are so fresh and had such good flavor. The server knew exactly how to time our appetizer and entrees. Everyone on the staff was welcoming and genuine. We lucked out with perfect weather and sat on the peaceful patio. Thank you to everyone at Edwin's for making our dinner a special one we will remember for ever.
We were seated immediately. The ambiance was excellent. We especially enjoyed our waiter, George.
Amazing food for a fair price. Awesome service and, by eating at Edwin's you are supporting a good cause! 100% would recommend.
Fantastic restaurant, and the staff couldn’t have been better. I’ll be back!
Edwin’s offers a taste of and a look at CLE. The mission at Edwin’s is worthy of a visit and the food options are unique and dilectable. Bring a friend or group and feel good for all the right reasons.
Went with friends who have been here a few times --and recommended the restaurant. We live in Chicago but are from Cleveland. I read about the restaurant -- and the owner, who has a very interesting background. I applaud him for hiring/training people who are trying to reintegrate into society after being released from jail/prison. That being said, here are my comments.
The menu (mostly traditional French cuisine) is broad and interesting. Wines are overpriced and needs more selections by the glass. There are staff everywhere. Our server was polite and attentive -- but clueless. My guess is that he was new and still in training. He struggled -- but there were support people right there. What the service staff lacks in polish, the kitchen more than compensates for. The food is outstanding! Beautifully presented and delicious, portion sizes are appropriate. Execution is first rate.
My only serious criticism is the music. It was a combination of Michael Jackson and other very upbeat (and loud) artists. I mentioned this to Edwin when he walked by, while complimenting him on the food. His somewhat arrogant reply was "this is our music." Perhaps that is true -- but it is not his guest's music.
I enjoyed my visit. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Food was delicious. Everything was spot on.
Edwin's motto, "Eat Well. Do Good", is perfect for their restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service very good, and the after-dinner tour of the restaurant fun and informative. Our waiter, Jevon, seemed a bit shy in the beginning, but warmed up quickly and showed his personality. He and the rest of the wait staff were very attentive -- our water glasses were filled after almost every sip, and our bread plates were never allowed to go empty. The lobster bisque I started with was excellent, with lumps of lobster. and my husband's cold potato and leek soup was interesting. I greatly enjoyed my seared sea scallops, and he loved his bouillasbaise. He exclaimed several times throughout the meal, "This makes me so happy." The atmosphere and character of the place was what really made it special. We loved that so many servers and managers came by to check on us. For those who don't know, Edwin's was founded to "give formerly incarcerated adults a foundation in the culinary and hospitality industry while providing a support network necessary for their long-term success. Our mission three-fold: is to teach a skilled and in-demand trade in the culinary arts, empower willing minds through passion for hospitality management, and prepare students for a successful transition home." Check out their website for more information on their mission and to view the menu and photos.
From the moment we entered, we were greeted in a friendly manner, and seated guickly. Our waiter was new, but very courteous and took care of any needs. Dinner was above our expectations, from soup and salad to dessert!! There was no rush through the experience. It was very nice, and unusual for today's restaurants, not to be referred to as "you guys." We will be back to explore other dishes as well as for the friendly and competent service!
What an experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the decor is one of kind. While we didn't sit inside, we did take some time to look around and enjoy the ambiance of a gorgeous restaurant. The outside seating was lovely as well. There is a large 2 section patio that sit quaintly under a tree and views of the bustling circle and neighborhood.
We were treated like gold the entire meal, our server was fantastic and the maitre d' was knowledgable and welcoming. Our meal was exceptional. Classic french food done perfectly. I can't say enough about the saucisse fruit de mer or the rabbit. Both were exceptional and exquisitely executed. The dessert was wonderful as well.
Any wine lover is sure to appreciate the extensive selection and varietals. As a novice, I was appreciative that the maitre d' took the time to suggest and nail and perfect bottle for us. Both of the cocktails we had were delicious.
We had a great time here and will absolutely return the next time we visit the city. If you are someone who likes to dine and not simply be fed, put this on your list.
Dinner was very nice and the waiter, who was new, tried very hard to please us. Very polite. Asked for support when not sure of our questions. We like the concept of the restaurant and training people to help them have positive futures.
Outstanding meal and supporting a great mission. Great evening on the patio.
Our second visit was as wonderful as the first! If we lived nearby, we would probably dine here at least once a week.
We came here for our anniversary and loved every moment! The service, food, drinks and overall ambience were wonderful. We especially enjoyed the table side service of making “le burger”! Thank you for a memorable night!
My favorite restaurant because wait staff is so pleasant and food is sooooo good.
Our first time having dinner at Edwin’s and they exceeded expectations by a mile. Easily our best dining experience since living in Cleveland.
We asked them to surprise us with entree selections and wine, which turned to even enhance the experience.
What a great place. We will be back.
The service at Edwins is excellent. I have always thoroughly enjoyed all the staff. I don't normally do French food due to the high caloric load, but Edwins does it well. I would say that occasionally an entree is a bit oversalted, so if that is not your thing, you might want to mention low salt.
This is a fabulous restaurant - wonderful service - a really great menu!- potato encrusted grouper was perfectly cooked - loved sitting outside except for the helicopter mom and her little girl next to us - not much you can do about loud diners! Will definitely go back again!
servers were great and food outstanding. we would return when next return to cleveland.
I took an town friend trained in French cooking to Edwins. She greatly enjoyed both the food and the menu. Later that evening I showed her the documentary film, "Knife Skills". I have no doubt she will remember and tell her friends back in in Telluride and Durango CO about her special evening.
Excellent service. Great menu. A great opportunity for the employees.
