First. I don’t write bad reviews especially for a place as lovely as Edison. I have been here many times.
I made reservations weeks in advance and got there early. Hostess would not give me open table by edge. Sat next party there. Then waitress was very slow to help us. Drinks and water were empty several times. Served other tables seated after us first. Food was good. Took forever to get help from her and endless wait for check. On walk out pasted her. Looked at us didnt say bye or anything.
Wish they would take key lime pie off menu during fall. I’m from Florida. Just seems wrong lol. Pumpkin or something else. Sunset was gorgeous as usual.
Great atmosphere. Food is pretty much what I would expect from a resort
Spectacular sunset view. Over-priced for the food quality because of the view.
Our experience at Edison was fine, just fine. That seems like a low bar for the price you pay to stay at the Omni. The service was definitely subpar (very slow, not very friendly) and the food was average at best but extremely overpriced. It was impossible to get a reservation and overall a very frustrating experience for staying at such a “top-notch location.” Would recommend for cocktails and the sunset view but definitely light apps vs. a nice dinner.
Great view...food just average. Expensive for quality.
Great lunch experience. Service excellent and food delicious.
and of course the view is outstanding!!!
First visit to Grove Park Inn and it lived up to the hype! Gorgeous fall day, delicious meal, view for miles!!!
Would have received a GREAT rating but the Edison reported a cancellation of the reservation despite our being there ... getting the open table "points" required several shifts among persons answering ... ultimately the Open Table Rep 'squared me away'.
The Edison staff appeared 'overwhelmed' with their 'reporting in' procedures ...
The food and the views were both amazing!
Waiter was slow and it wasn't even that busy. Husband got salmon that was good he said. I got the lobster mac and cheese. Don't. Big mistake. Hunt for overdone lobster in less than cheesy sauce. Big disappointment. The beet salad was excellent. Should have just gotten that. View of course fabulous. Always is. Would recommend great place for drinks. $40 for lobster mac and cheese was huge disappointment.
Edison's was a true delight! We were seated on the patio overlooking the mountains painted in fall leaves. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the wonderful cocktail menu and admired the charcuterie board ordered by others around us. Our food was fresh, generous, and full of flavor. The service was wonderful and the ambiance cozy and welcoming. It was a wonderful way to end our visit to Asheville, NC in the fall.
Wonderful place to eat with amazing food. The view is outstanding! Just bring a jacket if it is cooler as you will want to eat outside!
Everything was amazing and you can’t beat that view! So glad we finally made it here!
Great destination to share a fine meal with intimate friends and family. Food, hospitality and ambience make for a great experience.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely late afternoon dinner while visiting Asheville. It was our first time at Edison’s. The wait staff, the food, atmosphere, wine and beer were all excellent. We would definitely go again!
Our sever was not articulate or timely. Lots of potential in the food but execution is lacking. Too much too pay for above average food. View is great
The service was outstanding and the food was even better
The food was good. Craft beer selection was good and mostly local. Service was a little slow but it seemed they were a little under staffed so maybe it was a fluke. The view and ambiance was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
Decent food and great service. We’ll be back.
Food was excellent. Service was outstanding. View was beyond expectations.
Always outstanding ... and that’s why we keep coming back. Fresh, healthy food at great prices. Outdoor seating has unbearable views of the mountains and property.
Nice restaurant. A bit pricey!
Great dinner here to celebrate my daughters birthday. Our server , Kimberly, was wonderful!! So attentive and helpful! They gave us a table overlooking the courtyard outside with a great view! It was perfect. The food was great. Shrimp & grits and salmon entrees. We would definitely recommend eating here and go back next time we stay there.
Our waitress was congenial, prompt, and courteous. Our food was delivered expeditiously, hot, and delicious. Ambience was perfect! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Upon arriving we were greeted so warm and friendly, our server Owen was professional, warm and sweet. He did everything to make our dining on the sunset patio perfect. (From turning off a squeaky fan and turning on the beautiful fireplace by us). Owen is a true asset to Grove Park Inn.
Our only let down was the food. I ordered shrimp and grits, which was described as grits flavored by smoky Gouda cheese. Grits were very mushy (it didn’t even look like grits-I’m raised southern and know what grits should look like) in a cream sauce, shrimp were on the side of the plate also layered in the cream sauce. It had zero presentation- a white bowl of white mush served luke warm. Had the chef added a touch of thinly shredded green and yellow squash on top and lightly browned the shrimp instead of everything in the white cream sauce it would of had a better presentation.
My girlfriend had the Salmon asking to have the pesto on the side, it arrived as ordered, she said it was absolutely delicious, cooked perfect and the pesto had a delicious flavor, she put all the pesto on top of the Salmon.
Adding warm bread and butter to our dinner would of been a nice touch.
Truly Grove Park is one of the most beautiful resorts in North Carolina.
Edison was AMAZING. We went here for our birthday dinner and the restaurant was breathtaking. They sat us at a table near the edge of the Terrace which is a great view. We started off with a couple apps (get the fingerlings!!!) and cocktails. We all got their specialty cocktails and they were all great! We all ordered entrees, Bison meatloaf, Salmon, Tuna and Lobster Mac and Cheese which were all FANTASTIC. And to end the night we had a couple of desserts, the shortbread cookies were out of this world. Seriously get them. Owen was our server and was so polite and helpful. Thank you Edison for a great night, we WILL be back again.
Being at the Omni Grove Park was so amazing but unfortunately this restaurant was like a strip mall sports bar. The floors appeared to be dirty and very unpleasing to the eye. How could this hotel have such a poor choice of restaurants looking at the beauty that surrounds it?
Our Waiter - Micheal P was not friendly or engaging in any way, shape of form. He acted as if we were bothering him with our requests. Very disappointed as we were celebrating a friends birthday.
Great EVERYTHING!!! Great view service and food was delicious!
Great food! Great atmosphere! Staff was super friendly!
Service was excellent and everyone’s food was delicious! Would highly recommend going.
Service and food were excellent. It was a little on the expensive side. But that was expected at a location like Grove Park Inn.
Everything was awesome except when the outdoor heater was turned on and was extremely annoying. Sounded like it was being cranked up. But it was nice to have a complementary champagne for our anniversary. Thank you!
Service and atmosphere very nice. Food OK and would stay away from the pork belly.
Dan our server was awesome!!! The meal was just delightful!
Amazing views, really good food, great service and so relaxing!
Good food, reasonably priced and beautiful views.
Nique was our server. She was wonderful! The food was amazing!
Limited menu even for a bar and grill. It’s either “burgers” or basic fare
Great food! Delicious cocktails and beautiful views!
Yummy with an amazing view!
