Edison - Omni Grove Park Inn
We ate lunch there on the first day of Gingerbread houses display. Beautiful view of mountains, friendly server, fast service, delicious foods. Hamburgers were delicious, grilled cheese sandwich-salad-and tomato soup (served in a cute coffee cup) were yummy, and salmon and salad were scrumptious. Shared delightful deviled eggs. Decorated for Christmas. Memorable time!
Great ambiance and excellent service. Food was delicious and the portions were generous!
My wife and I had a wonderful late lunch there this week. The service and food was great!
Food was great. Bar service was prompt and courteous. Wait staff member was fine. My objection comes from very poor service from the two individuals seating people. We made our reservations way in advance, arrived early and checked in, got a drink while waiting, then were never texted to say our table was ready. We waited and waited. Meanwhile, plenty of tables for two or more were vacated and cleaned off, and still it was not our turn. When I went to the check-in desk to ask how far down the waiting list we were (there were no more people waiting), they acted like they had never heard our name before, as if we were new people walking up. They said, "Oh, we can seat you right now." No explanation of the long wait, no apology. That's because the two people were busy chatting with each and were oblivious to the job at hand. Wake up, people! Anyway, I didn't appreciate it.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is not the hospitality for which we are truly known, and we sincerely apologize. Our guest experience is of the highest priority, and should you choose to dine with us again, we have shared your feedback with the Food & Beverage management team to better our operation for all future guests.
Had a great lunch with perfect views.
From arrival to departure this was a definite “do again”. Our server was terrific, food delicious with beautiful presentation. Our table overlooked a panoramic view of the beautiful blue ridge mountains.
This is a great place for a fun time with friends and sharing a great meal.
Wonderful view of the mountains watched the sunset, great service and the trout was outstanding, but especially enjoyed the bok Choy and brocolli rabi...we had drinks afterwards in the lounge in front of the fire
Thank you for choosing to dine at EDISON, craft ales + kitchen. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your meal and drinks and hope you will continue to join us in the future.
Very very overpriced and limited menu. Service was just OK. Nothing special for the price.
Bartender forgot an appetizer. She was apologetic an comped it.
Once seated it took a while to be Greeted. Server was friendly, but not too attentive.
Thank you for sharing. This is not the guest experience we aim to deliver, and we sincerely apologize for the service as indicated by the comp'ed appetizer. Should you choose to dine with us again, we look forward to the opportunity of showing you the hospitality for which we are truly known.
Simple, solid menu. Done well. Excellent service. Trout special was amazing. Our server was Becca (or maybe Emma...so sorry I cannot get it 100% in recollection), and her pace of service and "read" of us was impeccable. Great job; really made the experience great. Views cannot be beat. Early reservation timed well for big game and sunset.
Thank you for your kind words towards our staff, especially Becca. She is a valued member of the Omni family, and we appreciate that your dining experience was truly made better by her service. We look forward to welcoming you back to Edison, craft ales + kitchen on any future trips to The Omni Grove Park Inn.
David was our server and he was super!
Thank you for sharing. David is an excellent server, and we hope you will return to EDISON, craft ales + kitchen to not only experience his super service once again but also our culinary delights.
Great service and excellent food! The best burger I have ever had!
Thank you for joining us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the service and food, especially your burger, and we hope to welcome you back for many delicious meals in the future.
Casual dining at its best!
We love the Grove Park Inn but chose not to sit out on the terrace this time just thought it might be too cold. This was our second time to the Edison, the first time last year. The food was excellent. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive.
Thank you for joining us. Due to the weather, Sunset Terrace will be closing for the season on Sunday, November 10 and more dining hours at EDISON, craft ales + kitchen will become available to our guests. We appreciate that you have already enjoyed your first two visits with us and hope you will continue to visit here during the winter months.
Amazing service from Nicky , he went over menu and beer selections w ease and excellent service . Will be back soon
Awesome view. Unique dish.
I have recommended this restaurant in the past, but after this visit, I would recommend venturing out into Asheville. It may still be at the Grove Park Inn, but the quality of this restaurant is currently well below what we have enjoyed here before! Someone needs to wake up and bring The Edison back up to (at least) par. A real disappointment this weekend!!
Menu prices are growing......on a regular basis.......so perhaps soon only those who have very large sums to spend on food will eat here. Of all the restaurants in the Grove Park Inn, I had hoped that this one might maintain a reasonable price structure. ($28. for a plate of broiled salmon with a vegetable side is not really reasonable, is it?)
I will return to the Inn on occasion, as long as there is still 3 hours of free parking, but the idea of paying $400 minimum to stay overnight? Outrageous.
I checked "yes" above because the food is good, but there are lots of places in Asheville where the working class can eat good food......for a lot less.
Again, not disappointed. It is a lovely spot to dine. I had out of town guests and the Edison seems to be the go to spot for visitors. The dining was inside and very warm and casual. There were many others dining but the level of noise was minimal. Service was terrific, satisfied all food tastes from 13 to 58 year olds. Prices are very reasonable for the atmosphere and delicious food choices.
Thank you for choosing to dine at EDISON, craft ales + kitchen. We are thrilled that so many age groups felt comfortable enjoying their meals with us, and we hope you and your out-of-town guests will choose to dine with us again whenever you all are together in Asheville, NC.
We completely enjoyed ourselves.
The view from the restaurant is amazing. The food was good. Server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Really amazing hotel!
The only trouble we had was the AC was still on. 80 in the day and 52 at night so the draft was a little much to take. We asked our server at the beginning but they couldn’t shut it off. The dining room is ready for a little furniture face lift. The chairs are about 1-2” too short for the tables. So you feel like a kid at the adults table. High tops were that way too. Just uncomfortable.
It is always a lovely time when we visit. We live in Johnson City, TN and enjoy coming from time to time.
Thank you for making the journey from Johnson City, TN! We are truly touched that EDISON, craft ales + kitchen has become such a special stop on your trips to Asheville, NC, and we look forward to welcoming you back whenever you choose to visit.
charcuterie plate was not terrific but the burgers were delicious! wait staff was great.
Such a great atmosphere, deliciously satisfying dishes!
I opted for the comfort food dish, the grilled cheese with tomato soup. It was delicious. The view, as always, is magnificent.
Awesome experience. Jason, our waiter, was the best! Beautiful view. Great food.
We were told originally we had outside seating even up to the morning of our reservations. When we got there they said there was no dining outside. Our 2nd choice was to be seated near the fireplace. They didn’t do either for us. It was an extremely special occasion. My first time meeting my new-found niece if 50 years past. The parking was horrendous! It was pouring outside and the shuttles made us 30 minutes later to meet up. Never go on a rainy night but we made reservations a month in advance.
Thank you for reaching out. We apologize for any miscommunication regarding our seating. Edison, craft ales + kitchen does offer expansive indoor and outdoor dining areas with fireplaces, however these are made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Should you choose to dine with us again, we look forward to the opportunity of better serving you.
All four of us were very disappointed in the food. We did not like anything we got, including the nightly special, except the cup of fish chowder. There are several places in Asheville with much better food such as The Chestnut, Curate, The Blackbird, Corner Kitchen, etc. We will not go back but I do have to say the aviance was very good with the exception of the noise level and the service was superb. I can not speak to the food at any of the other restaurants on site but the building was definitely worth seeing.
As locals we often bring our out of town guests to the Grove Park Inn and enjoy dining at the Sunset Terrace. The ambience of the Inn is unmatched. This evening we made reservations at Edison as no reasonable dinner slots were available at Sunset Terrace. We arrived on time with our out of state and out of country guests. We were seated with a nice view of the sunset from inside. David was polite however the amount of time we had to wait for our dinner was unacceptable. We were sitting for an hour and ten minutes before our meals finally arrived. He apologized once saying that the bar had numerous orders go in at once. No other apologies were offered and the bar area did not seem overly crowded. When the food finally arrived it was mediocre at best. The smashed burger and cuban sandwich were both below average by Asheville standards. Before our check arrived I shared my displeasure with the hostess and asked the she be sure to share our experience with whoever needed to know. What was to be a special occasion was sorely lacking (other than the beautiful sunset and nice conversation). I will not return to Edison nor will I recommend it to others. In the future, if we are unable to get seating at Sunset Terrace, we will simply take our guests to the Grove Park Inn for a drink and have dinner elsewhere in Asheville.
Thank you for choosing to dine at Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen. This is not the guest experience we aim to deliver and apologize for the lack of promptness. We have shared your concerns with our Food & Beverage management team and will use your feedback as an opportunity to improve. We sincerely appreciate your business and hope you will continue to join us at The Omni Grove Park Inn, whether it be here or Sunset Terrace.
We had a wonderful first time dinner at the Edison. We were sat outside (covered patio area) right along the railing where we were able to enjoy the beautiful views. The food and drinks were excellent. We were adventurous and tried the sauteed octopus starter and it was superb! Two in our party needed gluten free and this was easily accommodated. We would highly recommend taking the time to eat at Edison.
Food was awesome, service was great. Everyone in our group loved it!
Thank you for visiting us. We are thrilled to hear that the food was awesome and service was great, and we hope you will choose to dine at Edison, craft ales + kitchen again soon.
Our server Alex was GREAT !
Thank you for your kind words towards Alex. A valued member of the Omni family, Alex embodies what it truly means to be a hospitality professional, and we hope you will continue to dine at Edison, craft ales + kitchen for its outstanding service and culinary delights.
Amazing service! Our waiter was more than accommodating and made sure we were seated with food in time for the sunset! Couldn’t say more about the service! We had the goat cheese balls, grilled cheese and a smash burger. All was great except the goat cheese balls were a bit bland. We put some salt on them and they much improved! Thanks for a great experience!
Thank you for dining at Edison, craft ales + kitchen. From the excellent service to our grilled cheese and smash burgers, we are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meal. We look forward to welcoming you back for many great experiences in the future.
Enjoyed it. We’ll be back.
Loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing!
Best Mountain View’s ever.
We arrived in time for sunset. We had comfortable banquette seating. My burger special was delicious. Great service. Fabulous atmosphere.
Thank you for sharing. We are thrilled to hear that you were able to enjoy the sunset from Edison Craft Ales + Kitchen, and even more so that your burger special and service were nothing short of spectacular. We hope you will choose to visit us again soon.
Love the atmosphere but the chair was terrible. Metal, hard and off balance. If I leaned back I would slide off. Someone in my party snuck and switched my chair for one with a cushion. So uncomfortable I wanted to leave.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we sincerely apologize that you felt the need to sneak the chair. Table selection is made on a first-come, first-served basis, however we certainly do not wish any of our guests to be uncomfortable and would have assisted you directly had the issue been known at the time of service. We hope you will choose to dine at Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen again soon when we may better show you the hospitality for which we are truly known.
I really like the grove park inn. Would recommend for dinner. The views are terrific and it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere. A little pricey and the hotel itself has gotten outrageous in terms of room rates and all added extras including a resort fee and a daily parking fee.
Absolutely beautiful views at sunset and the food was tremendous. Even for the more “casual” spot at Grove Park, each dish was world class. We especially loved the charred octopus, fried green tomatoes, seasonal scallop dish and the bison meatloaf! Each was packed with unique flavor and made a statement. Don’t sleep on the dessert menu! The cheesecake was presented in such a neat way as a little globe with the roasted peaches inside and it wasn’t too heavy so we left feeling satisfied not overstuffed! Our drinks were absolutely fantastic - very fresh ingredients and spot-on flavors - even the virgin mule for our pregnant guest was mixed with some additional flavors to really make it special!
Thank you for sharing. Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen has recently updated the menu, and from the charred octopus to the bison meatloaf, we are very pleased to learn that so many of our newer offerings are being appreciated by our guests. We hope you will dine with us again soon, perhaps in celebration of the newest member of the family.
