Convenient while staying at Quail Lodge. Indifferent service. Average faire. Expensive.
I visited on my birthday so I wanted a memorable experience (which it was). My husband loved the garlic fries so much that he went back the next day just for them.
Emerson was the best server!
Great old fashions! Definitely can't wait to go back
Wonderful experience at Quail Lodge and Golf Club. We’ll be back for sure. Have been sharing experience with others to make a visit at Quail!
A low-keyed, relaxing scene with great food at realistic prices. Nice place to dine with friends and family when audible conversation is desired.
I wish I lived near this restaurant. The customer service was better than most restaurants.
The new menu is great. We ate in three nights in a row and enjoyed ordering different items each night. Everything was wonderful. Wine list needs upgrading next, but the corkage fee is reasonable so we brought our own wine.
Enjoyed Edgar’s before heading to the Jazz Weekender concert. Good place to have a relaxing meal. Pleasant surroundings. Good service. Decent food!
Ver friendly staff. Outstanding service and not to mention it but the food was delicious. The portions are generous the servers very attentive and what can I say it's at the Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley so the expectations were high and they delivered. New place to add to out restaurant list when we visit.
Great food with the best service = superb experience.
Edgar’s was offering a three-course featured dinner for $29.99. It included an appetizer, salad and entree. Each course was excellent and beautifully presented. The entree, roasted Alaskan Halibut, was superb. We had homemade blueberry pie and a scoop of homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert.
Service was slow. The oysters were not fully shucked, and the entree proteins were placed with the incorrect side dishes. The food itself was good. Just a bummer about the waitstaff and the final plates/ presentation of food.
Farm to table, whether your craving a burger with fries, local seafood, flatbreads, or surf n turf it’s consistently great food.
A nice dinner from a reliable spot.
I was disappointed with the service for the Brunch , I ordered hot tea and sever brought hot water only thinking that choices of tea will follow and been waiting for a long time so I asked for the tea and that was the time only that he brought the box of tea . we had waited for a long time to be served of what we ordered ( just wondering if they were short of staff) but our next bta let were served right away with almost same order ,just slight disappointed coz expectations are high for this kind of venue.
first seating was poor, heavy traffic path, changed tables & everything fine
Our waiter, Emerson, was very personable and helpful. Mom and I had a bottle of wine and two appetizers: roasted brussel sprouts and friso misto. Both were AWESOME and we couldn't finish! We took the rest home in a small carton provided by Emerson! As well as the rest of the wine bottle! Great place (and I have on good authority that the Sand Dabs are great!!) We will return.
The food and service was great and the clam chowder is to die for!
We often sit outside but this time inside. However it was really cold inside. Told the waitperson who turned it up s little.
Great ambiance and wonderful to take friends for dinner knowing one always gets a good meal. Plenty of time to relax and talk and not feel rushed. Never have to be concerned about parking.
Decor is really dated, food was good and the service was attentive if not very professional.
Had our Thanksgiving/Birthday dinner at Edgar's. First of all, I like the fact that they not only did they have Thanksgiving dishes (turkey, etc.) but offered dishes from their regular menus. Being vegetarian, that was a plus. I didn't just want to have a choice of Salmon.
It was not crowded, very relaxing and the noise level was perfect. The food was excellent with generous portions. I'm sure if it was light outside, the view would have been very nice.
The staff was very friendly and had great service. Would definitely recommend Edgar's and go back!
I realize it was Thanksgiving and that you were very busy on the holiday, but the service was very slow- both the bartender and waiter needed more help. I was very pleased with the meal- your prime rib was properly cooked (rare) and the size of the portion was incredible. It just took too long to get our drinks and have our order taken. It appeared that a young man who was maybe a manager stepped in midway and helped out the
waiter. I have had previous experiences at Edgars and the bar service is almost always too slow. You might consider ways to speed up the bartender- more people or??- so it is consistent with the fine quality restaurant that you are.
A fall evening dinner on the patio warmed by the flames from the firepit was outstanding. The lamb and mushroom ravioli were sublime... best lamb in years!
Dined on a Sunday night where you can bring your own wine and waive the corkage fee. This makes dinner a great value. Our food was also very tasty and the service prompt and friendly. An excellent restaurant.
The food and ambience was nice. We set outside with our family and dog. The service was slow and once we got food we were forgotten. Normally the service is excellent, it was just not to be !
I made reservations with open table, received an email later saying Points were not eligible with this reservation
We all felt that more care to the food needed to be looked at. The Garden Salad which has great ingredients (blue cheese, bacon, apples and grapes) but the underlying lettuce was not fresh. Three of us had the ribs. A generous portion but served lukewarm and buried in an overpowering barbecue sauce that we should have ordered on the side.
We eat here about 3-4 times a year and I am taking time to thank the wait staff who are so very attentive and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxing and a great way to wind down from work, wine tasting, a visit to the Refuge or other excursions. The food is consistently tasty and fresh and we love (love) the menu variety. Keep up the great work!
Very clean and staff very friendly. Love the setting.
Love that the menu is organic, mostly locally sourced and very fresh. Great salads, many vegetarian options. We always especially enjoy the Farmer's Market salad, flatbread pizzas, vegetarian tacos and sweet potato fries. Dining room is attractive and comfortable, setting is beautiful, views of the hills and golf course are lovely. Service is very gracious and you don't feel rushed. Patio is wonderful on a nice day, and sitting inside by the fireplace on a cold day with a bowl of Edgar's soup is just as good or better.
The Chef must have been off for the night, poor taste to all 4 different main dishes.
Edgar's is what I would call "sporty and understated". The cuisine is seasonal, organic and delicious. The desserts are made by a Pastry Chef . . . homemade ice cream, seasonal pies, etc. , in addition to something special. We eat there often and have never had a negative experience. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and polite.
Edgar’s is a delightful place to have lunch. We sat on the outdoor patio. The menu options were wonderful. Something for everybody. Food was great! Prices are reasonable.
We went for cioppino night on Friday and it was amazingly good. The service was very friendly and attentive.
Entrées were excellent. Avocado
toast appetizer is to be avoided—bread was untoasted wheat. The net effect was a semi-
soggy tasteless item. Sand dab entrée was very well
done. Surf n turf was mediocre—over cooked prawns. Desserts pleased all
four of us.
Small quiet dining room. The chef forgot the salad dressing on our salad. Clams with linguini was great.
We finished our round of golf early and were ready to eat well ahead of our reservation. We were accommodated immediately and the service throughout was excellent. Two different soups, a flatbread and ravioli all great.
