Eddie V's - Dallas
Book your next event with us
I have dined at Eddie V's in Austin (both locations), Dallas, Houston & Orlando. I love this restaurant. I always have a great experience. I have to say on this one night in Dallas the service with a little under par. They must have been short handed this one night. We dined at a table in the bar area and we were always waiting on drinks. I am sure this was a one night short staff event. I would highly recommend Eddie V's for any occasion.
This is our go to place for great food!!!
It was a team effort from the manager to the busboys -- flawless service, perfect food, gracious culinary surprises because of a birthday celebration, they decorated the table. I think they have THE BEST filet mignon anywhere and the Flaming Bananas Foster is my favorite dessert anywhere. I am a BIG fan of Eddie V's.
We had an awesome time. The food and drinks were spot on!
I always love eating here. Great place for a first date. Wait staff is excellent along with great food.
Food was amazing, so delicious. Service was good, although occasionally overkill.
The restaurant was way too dark. It was impossible to read the menu without using a phone flashlight.
Still a very good seafood restaurant, but I think it has slipped a bit. The dishes we had this time were not quite as spot on as in the past, and the service was unexpectedly slow. Still, a very pretty and elegant place to dine, and worthy of trying if you haven't been. They also have a fairly extensive steak menu, which we haven't tried.
Great atmosphere and service
It was a great experience, only small issue was there was a long time between courses for what was a slow night.
But other than that the service was great !!!!
Rico our waiter was very attentive and accommodating.
He made up for the slow kitchen.
My wife and i sat at the bar, we have been here before but it had been awhile. The service at the bar was good but not great, we had to flag down a bar tender to be served however once we did the gentleman was super professional and nice. We started with an appetizer of the frab cake which was outstanding and more crab than anywhere we have been. We finished and then had to beckon the bartender after 15 minutes or so to put in our order. My wife ordered the seabass and i ordered the 12oz filet. A couple of accompanying sides, after waiting 41 minutes according to the manager who was brought out by the bartender as he thought the wait for our food was unacceptable. The manager came out apologized for the excessive wait and stated he was on it, we voiced our concerns with him but he seemed to be dismissive and said other than cooking it himself this was all he could do. After a few more minutes the food arrived only for my steak to be warm and cooked to incorrect temperature. I sent the steak back asking just to cook longer and they did but at this point im no longer hungry and my wife has finished her meal as i am starting. Her meal was great and she thoroughly enjoyed it had it not been so late. The bill came with me not finishing my steak, and there was absolutely no comps nor any apologies. I paid the full bill and tipped 25% and we left. We wwre planning a large event on the upcoming 10th but decided another place would be better as we didnt want to risk it. Cool place, good music, and decent service...but not top 10.
Wonderful food and as always, fantastic service. Can't say a bad thing about this place. It delivers every single time. Note to the restaurant if they ever read reviews: there are many good steakhouse places in Dallas. What sets yours apart and will keep bringing us back over and over again is the service. Please make sure that you continue emphasizing that and also appreciate your servers at the same time. Thank you!
Great ambiance, delicious food and they really made us feel special
Great experience and food was amazing as always!
Everything was excellent!
Unfortunately we had a terrible server. She was spacey and no where to be found majority of the night. We had to ask for water glasses to be refilled and she never refilled our wine from the bottle we bought. She spilled a glass of sparkling wine all over my friend and didn't even compensate us for it. She then rambled on to tell us she was wasted as of 10 minutes prior. I understand it was New Years Eve but we paid over $400 for dinner and I would expect the service to reflect that. It took her over 30 minutes to pick up our bill which was frustrating since we were trying to get Ubers before the prices surged. Another server finally took pity on us and ran our cards as she saw how long we were waiting while ours was chitchatting at another table for 30 minutes. By the time we got out of there, my Uber was over $50 which was very frustrating. I probably won't go back since we have several other high quality steakhouses in Dallas. Very disappointed and put a damper on our NYE...
New Year’s Eve dinner. Overall great experience. Food was fantastic. Steak cut like butter. Wine was fantastic as well. We had 3 bottles of Austin Hope.
Love going to Eddie V's to celebrate birthdays and because we love hearing Don Morgan's group play in the Lounge where we like to sit on Sunday evenings!! Food always excellent and so is the service!! Thanks!!
We were celebrating our 38th anniversary, arrived 10 minutes early and were seated almost immediately. Our table was adorned with red rose petals and a card signed by the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. After our waitress took our drink orders, the restaurant manager introduced himself and brought us a complementary appetizer the chef prepared for us. The drinks and our meals arrived promptly. My wife's Ahi tuna was excellent and my sea bass was wonderful as well. When the check arrived the floor manager told us they compete us our drinks for our anniversary. In short, the service and food quality was flawless
Great food amazing service!
We hadn’t eaten there in a while so we tried it again. Same issue as before. Food good, service infuriating. It took twice as long to eat as it should have. It’s not the quality of the servers I think as much as the quantity, plus they don’t have a “team ball” culture - other servers give you that blank stare and look right through you. Not clearing plates, not bringing food in a timely manner, water glasses empty for over 15 mins.
We were frustrated by the time we left, vowing to never come again. No comparison to Al Biernat’s for example, where they get the service and food quality right, always.
Christmas eve dinner
No respetaron la reservación, llegamos al lugar y no les importó la reserva que se hizo, nos comentaron que teníamos que esperar una hora más!
We had made reservations weeks ago, for a special Christmas Eve dinner. We had made them for later in the evening, we arrived on time, we were then told that we wouldn’t be seated for another hour thirty to hour forty five minutes. When asked why we were told that they were busy, and when asked about my reservation, they told if I didn’t want to wait they told me I should go elsewhere. This was now at 9 on Christmas Eve. They told numerous reservation holders same thing. I will never go to any Eddie v restaurant in the future and strongly express this to anybody thinking of going there. I understand being busy, but I had received a call confirming my reservation only to be rudely told they were to busy!! Disgusting
Reservations were at 8pm. We weren't seated until 9:30, with no where to wait. The bar and entry way was packed. Went outside but there was smokers. Dinner was ordered gluten free due to celiac. Steak tartare served on bread crostinis, redfish was breaded and by the time it was recooked I was done with my dinner. We left at 11pm. I would have thought the manager would have comped some of it as he delivered the second redfish with an apology. Good restaurants with customer service wouldn't have charged for that. The redfish that had to be redone didn't come with the chunk of crab meat as was ordered and charged for. Very unpleasant experience.
Horrible experience!!!! Totally overbooked, told Kitchen was swamped....waited 2 hrs for our food. Ruined a Christmas Eve and let me tell you NOBODY will put up with that in Dallas Texas with the great restaurants available, management should be put on notice that your clock is ticking before you shut down!
Unfortunately it was a rather hectic night, being Xmas eve and all. We had to wait to be seated past our reservation time about 20 minutes or so, not bad. But the service was slow. Waiter told us in advance that we would be waiting but we weren’t prepared to be waiting for cocktails as well as dinner. Food was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. We were just getting nervous of the time between courses as we had planned accordingly to attend church. A rather harried evening. No time to sit and relax or order coffee.
We made a reservation for Christmas dinner at 7:45 and were not seated until 8:30. The waitress took our drink order and did not return until 30 min after with the drinks. We knew it was busy so we ordered our appetizers along with our main entree’s do to how long our drinks arrived. When our food arrived we ordered our dessert to get on time after our dinner and it still took another 20 min after our dinner for our dessert. We did notice they didn’t have enough waiters/waitresses so I think that was one of the problems. Other than that the food was excellent but we didn’t plan on spending three hours at dinner since we ended up leaving almost at 11 pm do to the slow service.
The entire experience was disappointing. We waited over an hour to be seated for our reservation, another 90 minutes for our food. The reception desk was manned w inexperienced or just a surly young woman. The Branzino was so overcooked, it looked as if it had been pulled from the trash. It was clear something was systemically wrong at the restaurant, management wasnt present on the floor nor finding a way to fix the overwhelming disappointment of this expensive evening for us and the many other grumpy customers wishing they were somewhere else.
We come to Eddie V’s all the time for happy hour and sit in the bar. We’ve also celebrated Christmas Eve there for 4 years in a row. This was our worst experience dining in Dallas. Our reservation was at 7:30pm. They were very busy so we had a drink in the bar awaiting our table. After 45 minutes, they told me they thought they sat us 20 minutes ago. They gave our table to some other party and then made us wait longer. Once sat, service was mediocre at best. He was rude, inattentive and slow, even though we informed him of a family party that we were already late for. We asked for dishes to be split, asked for extra sauce and nothing was served correctly. Usually when restaurants in Dallas screw up, they make it up in some way, to ensure your experience is positive and memorable.
Super crowded for Christmas Eve so it was louder than usual. We had a great time and the food was superb, as always. Our waiter was attentive though I know he was super busy!
Food good as always. Crab cakes are the best in town.
Service was average and usually is outstanding. Also placed in back dining room after reservation 4 weeks out?
Have been a frequent customer and love the food but not as great of an experience as in past.
The service was extremely slow. We had a reservation at 6 and order and got our apps. It was going great. Then they rushed to get our app plates. Then we waited over 45 minutes to get our entrees. Manager came by but we kept looking around for food and the servers knew that.
Overall it was a wonderful experience. Our waiter tried hard but the kitchen was very slow. But it was Christmas eve, so we weren't surprised. Food was great and we loved the jazz band!
We had an early dinner at EddieVs. The service and food were excellent. I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience we had there!
We had such a fabulous dinner. I had the bone in filet he had the salmon with sautéed spinach and baby carrots I also ordered a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes. But the top of the line was the shrimp cocktail with extra special hot horseradish and the crab cake which is always my favorite and best in town. Look forward to our next visit at Eddie V’s
I love Eddie V’s. The crab cake and truffle mac and cheese are among the best I’ve ever had. Service is top notch.
Excellent service, food and drinks are great.
Meal service and atmosphere
Family holiday dinner. Every meal was delicious and the service was impeccable!
