EATS Kitchen & Bar @ Hotel Irvine Ratings and Reviews
We had an all-around great experience here. The menu is varied and everything we tried was delicious. The wines were nice, the live entertainment was well-suited to the environment, and the service was friendly and timely. The best feature, though, was the value. Each dish was as carefully prepared and beautifully presented as in a much fancier place, yet the prices were more what you'd expect at a pub. We will definitely return!
Let's get real here folks! I am very prudish when it comes to dishing out five stars but this place earned it! And it was definitely because of the exceptional and quality customer service that our server Colton provided. This lovely restaurant is located in the Irvine Hotel but don't let that sway or discourage you! There was a cocktail reception and a good-sized crowd and a lot of noise. Colton benevolently sat us outside. To start, I enjoyed a Cranberry Mule, off the menu. As we did check in on Yelp, we dined on a Sicilian pizza and Garlic Parmesan fries - the pizza was succulent and the fries were crisp and flavorful! I ordered the Pasta Pomodoro with the Bolognese meat sauce, at the recommendation of our server. And my boyfriend ordered the Red Wine Braised Short Ribs. We culminated our date night dinner with their Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie dessert. The service was impeccable, the food was incredible and the aforementioned are the solid reasons why I reviewed this restaurant with five stars! Go eat here! Meet up with your friends! Take your love here for a night out! Whatever you do - if you're reading this - don't hesitate to enjoy a culinary experience! I also hope Colton is working on the day/night of your visit. Bravo! A job very well done!!!
It’s very loud Inside due to it being in an open area near the lobby of the hotel. Area had a faint smell of wet rag/puke when you first walked in (not the most pleasant of smells), Food was good but nothing spectacular and considering the prices I would have expected better. Service was ok - our waitress got our drink order wrong (brought us sparkling wine instead offer wine) and forgot about us when it came time to close out the tab.
Unfortunately, our experience was not great. The restaurant was not even busy but it took almost half an hour for our server to show up. Next, once our server showed up, she only took our drinks and almost took 20 minutes for the drinks to show up. On top of that, after the 20 minutes, we order the appetizers. But then our server never bothered to come back. We had to ask for another server and that person did serve us well. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant because of the poor service. The restaurant was not even that busy so there is no excuse.
My husband and I dined here on New Year's Eve around 5:30pm. We had never been here before and really liked the place. The space had a large open dining area and a separate bar area. We started with the pork buns. It came with 2 nicely filled buns. My husband had the Branzino. He is still raving about it. Beautiful white fish, very tender and not a single bone. The best he's ever had. I had the ribs. It was a nice portion, meaty but a little dry. We were a little surprised to not see a specialty cocktail menu. We asked but our server just said the bartender could make anything we asked for. Overall, a very good dinner, noise level was okay and service was very excellent. We will be back.
Not bad but not great. Met a friend for a weeknight dinner. Bar was busy, dining room only 1/3 full. Service was pleasant and slow - our food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. My cocktail was light on alcohol and not balanced. 3 out of 4 dishes we had were good but basic. Self-parking was a bit of a walk but free with validation. With all the great options in the area, I probably won’t make a return visit.
Pleasantly surprised to find modern vibrant hotel with reasonable priced American comfort food.
Great Happy Hour bar swelling with people, yet we
could eat in nearby dining area and enjoy outdoor patio. Definitely will return to this hotel gem off 405 freeway in Irvine.
The hostess was cold and not professional! She did not let the wait staffs know that we were seated and need to be served. I was there with two 80+ senior citizens and a Old companion Shih Tzu,and we waited for 15 minutes till a very kind busboy noticed and tried to help us out. I called earlier before we book the reservation is the companion emotion support dog allowed to be there or not. The answer was surprisingly kind and cheerful. I was told not only the patio, the din8ng room is also allowed to have dog with us. Unfortunately when we showed up with the 4 legged family member, the hostess was very hasty and not happy to see the dog, even it’s a well groomed friendly quiet dog! She just said anywhere in the patio is fine, but absolutely not in the dining room, then we had to seat ourselves, then followed with the 15 minutes waiting experience that I stated earlier. After we had this nice young man taking cared of us,everything went super nice! He was very caring and kind. The timing for all service was perfect. The quality and presentation of the food is just fantastic, and the quantity of all of the dishes are just more than you can imagine.
I think it’s a great place to dine, only that certain hostess should be retrained.
Dinner with the family. Super loud inside the restaurant, glad we were seated outside. Service was slow (she gave us a free dessert to compensate, but then proceeded to continue with slow service). Food was room temp, but my daughter said her burger was good. I wouldn’t recommend unless you were going solely for drinks or Happy Hour.
We celebrated my cousin's birthday with lunch at EATS. We enjoyed the food and the mimosa flight. Service was excellent, and it's great that the restaurant validates valet parking. We spent the afternoon reminiscing and did not feel pressured to give up our table. Will definitely be back!
Courteous service. Ambiance is relaxed but a bit loud next to the bar. The tables seemed a bit close to each other. Parking is a walk to the back lot. The food is good blend of fusion and fresh. I had the crab meat cabbage wrap and dumplings, both are appetizers. The scallops with potatoes were fresh and tasty too. Next time I will try the $ oysters on Wednesday and happy hour drinks.
We landed on Taco Tuesday. The tacos were good, and like street tacos they were small. Not sure they were worth $2 each. Our server was nice but confused us by saying they only had steak and shrimp tacos. I ordered steak tacos and got chicken. Oh yeah, we only have chicken and shrimp...Their wine list is pretty short just as an FYI...
Surprisingly enjoyable. Simple menu with a reasonable variety of choices. The musician (Saturday nights) provided an ambiance that upgraded this from a mere hotel restaurant. Servers were very enthusiastic and actually worked as a team, keeping water glasses filled, drinks refreshed and used tableware removed at the appropriate time. Never felt rushed, merely attended to. Glad we tried it.
great food for this restaurant located inside Hotel Irvine. comfortable seating, but nothing really fancy. I ordered the baby back ribs...so tender that the meat comes off the bone easily. came with excellent cornbread and coleslaw. My friend had the butcher steak...cooked just right. If you check in to yelp, you get a free pizza. only complaint was the noise level...very high. there was a live band playing on top of recorded hotel music and noise from the nearby bar...too much at one time.
We've been to Eats Kitchen before but this was the first time we dined during Happy Hour. We tried the Mini Mac with bacon (good but tiny portion), Smoked Salmon salad (so-so) and the House Fries with basil ailoi (very tasty). Our favorite small plate was the Grilled Shrimp with corn, asparagus and bacon -- from the regular menu. The Orchard Margarita was lacking the fresh peaches as described on the menu, but what do you expect for 4 bucks?
