Absolutely AWESOME! The ambiance was great, cool sunset, wonderful staff and an epic meal! First time there and it was for a special occasion; now our favorite place. The Ahi was great, but the fried chicken was even better!
Wonderful evening...mahalo. We will definitely be back. Hopefully things will return to normal.
Soo wonderful! Food as usually exceptional 😋
Would only go on a special occasion because on the pricey side for steak. Flavor & drinks are good. Service is always awesome. Don’t forget to tip your servers.
Excellent food and service at an affordable price! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be back!
Due to COVID-19, the restaurant had limited capacity which made for a wonderfully quiet experience. We made reservations and walked right on when we showed up. Food was delicious.
Our server was very helpful with what questions we had and also made our very late wedding anniversary dinner very enjoyable!
Took our boys to celebrate some huge accomplishments! Amazing food and service along with a gorgeous view. Always consistent!!
Our server and food runners were awesome gave good reccomendations
Good food but need more choices would be nice. Service is awesome
Server did not explain specials advertised on Instagram posts.
Terrific menu. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. Would definitely recommend.
What an amazing meal we had at eating house, celebrating our anniversary. Our server was excellent and very attentive. The was outstanding! So happy with this restaurant.
We were celebrating a birthday and they gave us a complimentary dessert with "Happy Birthday" written on the plate in chocolate. We also had the hot lava cake and ice cream and the malasadas. The butterfish hot pot did not disappoint. Absolutely no bones were in the fillet and we both enjoyed it. We had a view of the sunset on the lanai.
Always Wonderful! ❤️! I love the Ribs and Lava Cake!
Server was knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. Unfortunately half the meal was served raw. The chefs made an error on one of the entrees and rather than cooking it through served partially raw chicken. Once brought to the staffs attention they seemed uncomfortable, making the ending to an otherwise great meal was soured. Under cooked meals happen, totally understandable, but an immediate response would’ve been nice once it was brought to staffs attention rather than just ignoring us until a busser came to clean the table.
Roy Yamaguchi was in the house the night we dined at the eating House. I got the prefix meal which was paired with two different wines and sake. Each course was delicious. The only disappointment was they ran out of the priests fix dessert. Otherwise, everything was perfect. How do you say how do you spell
Food always exceptional, only wish the menu would add new dishes, as we are local and eat there all the time. Had the last fixed menu, which was 9.5/10. Main course was ordinary, could have used more imagination. The vegetable were outstanding, better then the meat part as the prep on the vegetables was simple but outstanding.
Got to meet Roy. A very special evening. Great place to eat on Kauai.
It was wonderful! Even had an opportunity to meet Roy Yamaguchi!!
Roy’s restaurants never disappoint. Food is beyond amazing and service is top notch. Highly highly recommend!!!!! I have traveled extensively and Roy’s restaurants have always been my favorite since his first restaurant opened in 1988 when I was living in Honolulu with my parents.
We got to meet Roy Yamaguchi. Our service was excellent and the food was tasty. What a fun place to go.
Ate here with a family of 5 (3 teenagers) menu had options for everyone, meals were excellent, open airy dining area, specialty drinks and wine were very good and at a good price point for Hawaii
Not much variety on the menu, especially for someone who doesn’t like spicy food. My full size Caesar salad was smaller than the half size ordered by another person in our party. Disappointed with the lack of fish options.
Last dinner on Kauai before leaving for home. Had been to Happy Hour the evening before and drinks and appetizers were all good. For dinner, the food was ok but the service was lousy. Server disappeared for long stretches and never asked us if we wanted another drink after our first. Table of four and half of the dinners came out 10 minutes after the first two.
The best Rainbow Poke!!!
Overall it was above average. Comparatively, Merriman’s was substantially better. As an example, we ordered a Mai Tai at both; Merriman’s was the best happy hour drink I’ve ever had. The cuisine was similar—ok but not amazing.
My new favorite restaurant in Poipu area. We dine on Crispy Fried Calamari, Lemongrass Sweet Chili Garlic Kauai Shrimp, Blackened Island Ahi over Chilled Soba Salad & Butterfish Hot Pot, Honaunau Cinnamon & Sugar Dusted Malasadas, Roy’s Signature Hot Dark Chocolate Soufflé with Raspberry Coulis & Vanilla Ice Cream. Food was awesome and service was great. Our Waiter Jesses was super friendly & helpful.
food was very good but overpriced. perhaps just Hawaii prices.
It was nice. Good food. I would say that the beers and spirits/list were a a little generic but otherwise, great experience.
Always an enjoyable experience
The food wasn't great, but the service was. When spending $150 for two, you would hope that both would be great.
Meals were very good, and service was even better. Portion sizes were just right and food was well prepared. Nice specialty drink menu. Only negatives, it was raining and therefore the restaurant was a bit cold and the menu is somewhat limited, not a lot of choices.
Food was delicious becky our server was awesome!
A good place for consistency in preparation and taste of food. Great service.
Seating by the glass enclosed kitchen was extremely noisy and made our dining experience less enjoyable.
Disappointed. Was excited to try Roy's new iteration on Poipu. Main course menu item choice pretty limited. Salad tasty but pricey. Calamari way too salty. Wanted to leave impressed - but fell short
Good drinks and cool decor. Small menu without many choices and food was average-fried chicken sub par
Everything was going great til I found a lady bug in the app salad we were sharing The waiter did nothing but take the plate away when I pointed it out to him. Not even an apology really ! & no compensation
