Server was the worst.. I was staring at my glass of wine when he said another server took it... No dude, you are busy, it's cool- but don't lie. The table next to us that ordered 20 minutes after us, got their food about 15 minutes before us. The food was AMAZING
The Eastland café delivered a very enjoyable evening outside on their patio. The food was delicious. David our waiter was informative helpful and considerate regarding our opportunity to enjoy the Eastland café. The tuna dish potentially could’ve been a little overcooked But otherwise was tasteful and enjoyable. When we visit our son in Nashville again we will be making reservations at the Eastland Café.
We arrived and the greeting was great, service very good and the food delicious. It was our first time there and we will go back.
Best mid-priced farm to table local restaurant in Nashville. Great patios and dog friendly. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Our party of four had a great dinner out prior to a show. We arrived at 5pm which allowed us to take advantage of the happy hour specials. I highly recommend the wings, watermelon salad and pot stickers. The cocktails were grand. We were in and out by 6:15pm which accommodated all our wishes. Thanks to Chase for fast, efficient and friendly service. We'll be back!
Great service Great food
We had a fantastic dinner at Eastland Cafe. The fish special was one of the most delicious salmon dishes we have ever eaten. It was paired with creamed corn, fried eggplant, and greens. It was perfectly balanced and we have continued talking about how wonderful it was. I would highly recommend and absolutely go back!
Tried and true neighborhood gem with excellent food. I mean, excellent. Surprised it wasn't packed on a Friday night. We had reservations and they put us in a booth at the bar. Odd. The bartender was our server? We were engaged in great conversation and it didn't matter. The appetizers; Napoleon Green Tomatoes and Beet Salad were WOW! So good that one of us reordered the Napoleon for dinner.
As loud as any restaurant in Nashville. What I love is that it wasn't OVERTAKEN by Bridal people in dresses and boots. I'm a Nashville gal of almost 30 years.
Always a great time there.
We were just coming through Nashville about dinner time and found this place on Open Table. It wasn't too far out of the way, so we thought we'd give it a shot. We aren't "chain restaurant or fast food people," so we are grateful to find places such as this. Our food was top notch, served quickly and everyone was friendly!
Always a solid go to! Best happy hour in Nashville!
Hummas pizza to die for.
Great time! Great service! Great food! Highly recommend.
Excellent food and atmosphere in the heart of East Nashville. Diverse menu and great happy hour deals. We had fried green tomatoes, light and delicious pan fried dumplings, scallops with a delicious white russian sauce on the side, and fantastic shrimp and grits. Will definitely be bringing back friends!
Very nice staff, ambiance and menu. I ordered the Lamb and the portion was terribly small. Thank goodness we had lots of Appetizers. I liked that they had Happy Hour on Saturdays & Sundays, with discounted drink & appetizer prices. I will definitely return and recommend, but would not order the lamb again even tough it was delicious, 3 tiny lamb chops just were not enough for me.
We celebrated our anniversary weekend in Nashville and dined here on one of the nights. Excellent restaurant in East Nashville! Great selection of choices, and the Shrimp and Grits were great!
Food was excellent. The noise level was at a comfortable level. Compared to other trendy restaurants, the quality and price was superior.
Food was excellant. My wife and I enjoyed the pork chop and the Mahi Mahi as well as the green fried tomatoes. Service was great also though a little slow.
Food is always excellent and the staff makes you feel so welcome!
Great atmosphere and everyone was friendly and kind.
It was our first visit. We enjoyed our food, but the flies
were very annoying. I’m not sure we would go back.
Average food, restaurant too cold from strong AC so chose to eat outside- we were seated in back patio - no one else was out there.
I hadn't been here in a while and was pleasantly surprised. I was with 3 others and we ordered a variety of things - everything was great. I particularly liked the shrimp and grits (there are a lot of good ones in this town, but theirs still stood out), broccoli appetizer and pork chop. And it's open on Monday! Will return for sure. Hope others follow suit.
This restaurant is consistent in food quality and service. Very nice atmosphere and wonderful Happy Hour offering.
We’ve developed a routine of having an early dinner after shopping at local farmers’ markets during the spring and summer. East Nashville is a short 15 minute drive from the market in Donelson, so we chose the Eastland Cafe. Its corner location is a little hectic, but there is plenty of parking between their own lot, the streets and a huge dirt lot across the street. Our visit started off on the wrong foot: although the bar area was hopping, the main dining room was pretty much empty. One would think the hostess would be relaxed and, God forbid, pleasant. She had a frown on face and truly uttered not one word during our interaction with her. She grabbed two menus and proceeded to seat us at arguably the worst table in the restaurant; adjacent to the main service station for the wait staff and a squeeze where every person delivering food or going to the restrooms had to traverse. I immediately and very politely asked if she could reseat us elsewhere. She stared down at a computer table map, said nothing, walked me back to the table, grabbed the menus, plopped them down on a table two removed and walked away. Not a word was spoken! Mind you, the restaurant was essentially empty. Not that it should matter, but we were well dressed.
On a happier note, the wait staff were pleasant and efficient.
As to the food; I’d describe it as ordinary. My wife had shrimp and grits: gummy and fairly bland. I had the pork chop. The sides of collard greens and mac/cheese were quite good, but the center of the pork chop was cold and undercooked. The saving grace was there was plenty of tasty and appropriately cooked meat around the periphery. My guess is the cook/chef is new to grilling bone-in meats, because there was a knife slit cut in the edge; presumably to test its safety for consumption.
Overall, this wasn’t really a pleasant experience. The management might want to have a sit-down with the staff and explain they’re part of a SERVICE industry and the customer can go elsewhere.
Very good food at good value. The bouillabaisse was delicious. Eating outside made for good conversation, less noise. The only problem with eating outside was, at times, getting the waiter's attention.
The food is always good but the bottle of red wine I ordered was warm and tasted like it hadn’t been stored properly. You may want to make sure you are storing wine correctly
It was great!
We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Eastland Cafe. We arrived early enough to take advantage of a happy hour cocktail at the bar. Our entrees (steak and gnocchi) were delicious and the portions were filling. Unfortunately, despite mentioning that it was a special occasion, we were seated in a booth next to the bar. Also, it tends to be a rather noisy restaurant. So not very romantic, but we still had a wonderful dinner.
We went for Happy Hour and sat on the front patio. The drinks and food were great and service was top notch. We will definitely be back to try new menu items.
Cafe was recommended by a friend who really liked it. Was celebrating my 70th birthday. I had the fish special, Mahi. It was overcooked. but the seasoning was tasty. Potato pancake was good, and there was a nice salad with it.
My partner ordered scallops which were also overcooked. He was going to order a Manhattan, but they were out of sweet Vermouth. He ordered a specialist bourbon drink which was really weak.
Service was good. Atmosphere was nice. Noise level was a bit high bc music was turned up a bit too loud to make conversation easy.
Excellent food, great service!
This was our first visit to Eastland Cafe. We had a fantastic time sitting on the patio. Our server was OUTSTANDING, and also every employee/manager we came in contact was Fantastic. We will be back for sure. Thanks so much.
We used to love coming here a few years ago, but found the menu to be a little bit underwhelming this time. We shared several small plates, sides, and an entree, the “chicken & biscuits.” The margherita pizza and wedge salad were good, other items were fine, but both agreed the chicken was a disappointment. The texture of the chicken was delicious, but it was coated and fried in something that was bland and vaguely burnt. The others elements on the plate were fine, but not standout. We weren’t expecting traditional chicken & biscuits, but didn’t expect a big, flat, brown, plain chicken schnitzel, either!
Enjoyed every minute! Great pasta and burger-love the Mosaic IPA
I didn’t have unrealistically high expectations but being a neighborhood staple for so long, I did expect better. The food was bland and average in every way. The quality of ingredients and presentation reminded me more of a greasy diner than a cafe. The grits were swimming in a watery tasteless sauce and the French onion soup tasted straight from a can. The service was barely acceptable as our food was delivered not by wait staff but by a hurried kitchen staff who nearly spilled the food on us. Nothing was special about this experience and there is certainly much better in Nashville.
The food was amazing. We had a party of 8 and everything we ordered was perfect and the price was really good for the quality of the food. The chef is incredible, the flavors were blended to perfection, service was really good and the entire evening could not have been better!
Lovely dinner on the patio of one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants
Food was great!
Incredible food and fast and friendly service made our 11th Anniversary dinner a meal to remember. Enjoyed the beautiful weather on their patio which had a great relaxed vibe with romantic lighting. Definitely a place to try if you want well prepared food that isn't ridiculously expensive.
