Eastland Cafe Ratings and Reviews
We have been here many times and have always loved it. But the New Years menu was overpriced and underwhelming. The portions were small, and the sauce on the duck was WAY too sweet. At $50 per person without drinks you don't want to leave hungry. We will still go here for happy hour and the occasional dinner, but will never go for a special menu again.
Enjoyed a nice meal at Eastland. It was Tuesday so $20 wine night, which is a good value. My guest had the bouilibaisse and loved it. Very interesting version of this dish. I had the pork chop. Surprised by how small and thin it was. Came cool as did the vegetable on the plate. Would not order the pork chop again. The winner for me was the spicy mac and cheese. That came hot and was fabulous.
A friend and I went for Happy Hour and stayed for a light nosh. Be began with specialty cocktails from the Happy Hour menu. I had a tasty bourbon splash. We asked what was gluten free on the Happy Hour tastings and the kitchen prepared us hummus and pimento cheese with celery and carrot sticks ... which was just perfect! We were not rushed and our waiter was very attentive. It was a Wednesday night and although a large party was at the other end of the room, it was quiet enough to talk and not be bothered by noise. After the openers I switched to onion soup and beet salad, both of which were excellent. I had not been to the Eastland Cafe in a long time and not at the holiday time. The lovely wood table and chairs, banquette, and mirror gave the room a very warm ambiance. Also we were seated nearer to the kitchen partition than the front door which helped. Our waiter was knowledgeable and accommodating. I have always liked this place and this visit did not change my opinion. I will come back.
Eastland Cafe was extraordinary. Our server, Madeleine, was so sweet and efficient. The food is delicious with a huge selection of outstanding starters. We started with fried pickles, more than enough for four people. The main menu is small plates although a light eater would be satisfied with just one without a side or salad.
We will definitely return on our next Nashville visit.
I really wanted to love this place. It's in our neighborhood and could be a "go-to favorite". But, service was very slow; food was mediocre but expensive; and, it was so loud we couldn't talk. The tables were so close that the wait staff could reach our table. We felt shoved and poked and not valued. So disappointed.
My wife and I had an excellent dinner and dining experience at Eastland Cafe. I like the casual venue. Our waiter was much more than just a server. He told us all about the dishes and make good recommendations. For starters, the French Onion Soup would make the French drool and the Fried Green Tomato was the best ever. My wife had Shrimp and Grits that are on a par with anything in Charleston and I had a fantastic Pork Chop. We finished off by sharing a Sticky Pudding. The wine list is short but adequate and very reasonable. Overall, a place I want to go back to very soon.
The Eastland Cafe is the gem of East Nashville. The food was absolutely delicious and plated artfully. Our server Joe was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu items and adorable! Where do they find pomegranates at this time of the year:). The next time we are back in Music City we will definitely visit this delightful restaurant.
This was a fantastic find for an out of towner looking for good food with smaller portion options. The server was a little distracted but the everything was a solid 5. Foot was off the chain. Try the green chili Mac, gnocchi and the fried green tomatos with pimento cheese and pepper jam!
Was a last minute choice but we are sure glad we were able to get reservations.. 3 adults, a 16 year old and an 11 year old. Made it for the happy hour menu so were able to order from both. Joe, the server, was such happy person, he made us all happy. My granddaughter commented on it several times. And finally, great deserts... To quote Arnold. "I'll be back"
