Nice atmosphere. Good food but limited during nights when serving prime rib.
This was the most disappointing meal I’ve had in a long time. We saved going to Duke’s for our last night in town to have a proper send off. I’ve been to many other Duke’s locations (Maui, Waikiki, Malibu) and always had a great experience. Last night was anything but that. We showed up on a Friday night for an 8:15 reservation, only to have the live music stop promptly 10 minutes after getting there - mind you the restaurant doesn’t close until 9. Our waitress (who never told us her name but according to the receipt it was Angelie) didn’t tell us the specials or even so much as take our drink order. After 15 minutes, she just came over and said “do you have any questions or are you ready to order?”. The food was decent, but she did the absolute bare minimum in terms of service. Our appetizer plates sat on our table for the entirety of the meal, she never asked us if we wanted to order another drink even though our cups sat there clearly empty and didn’t even check on us to see how things were tasting. There was someone seated near us who the staff knew and our waitress was clearly more interested in spending time with them than working. We looked for a manager to talk to on our way out, but there was no one to be found. There wasn’t even a hostess at the stand as we were leaving. This is not a cheap place, but certainly felt like one. People pay good money to eat here and have an experience, but this this was a truly disappointing meal. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.
Your mai tai s are not as good as in years past
Server and buffet staff were kind and did a great job. Food was very expensive, and tasted like Applebee’s quality.
Great food great service
Went here for our last night in Kauai for our honeymoon. Love music on a Thursday was great and we even got a free Hula Pie for celebrating our honeymoon! Our server Kaylin was great.
What a beautiful view from Dukes! Food was really good too. And service was perfect!!!
Disappointed that there was not a salad bar unless you ordered the Prime Rib buffet. I had raved about the salad bar to my daughter and she was looking forward to it along with her fresh fish entree.
Perfect, service was excellent and view was beautiful.
Wonderful live music, great food, wonderful service, incredible location!
That was are first time there and it was fabulous. We loved the live music too. Thank you
Overall, we had a good experience. Ordered the prime rib, which was very tasty. Dinner included vegetable and mashed potatoes. Asked if we could skip the mashed potatoes and just have more of the vegetables. They did it, but when the bill came, we noticed we charged an additional cost for doing so. Really???? The vegetable was kale.
Our server was very nice. We were seated at a lovely table.
Nice venue. Beautiful setting.
We ordered BBQ chicken and ribs. We were disappointed with both. The ribs were short ribs and very dry and tasteless! The chicken had a weird taste. We make better BBQ chicken on our grill! We have another reservation there for the end of the week and plan to go elsewhere!
Service was great, and the selection of food for the Sunday brunch was outstanding.
We tried the Prime Rib Buffet and everything we got off the buffet line was amazing. The drinks were fun, especially La Piña with the carved out pineapple cup.
We love Duke’s! It is a must every time we are in Hawaii. Food is great. Portions are a little small for what you pay.
Portions were small, food was just ok. Prices were high.
We ordered and went to the salad bar. Before we finished our salad the entrees showed up. Felt we were rushed. I ordered the Ahi. It was a bit salty for me.
Birthday dinner for my wife. The staff did a wonderful job making sure our experience was great and her time there was memorable. Our waitress was wonderful. Of all the restaurants we have been to on this trip so far, Duke’s appears to be well ahead of the rest in being ready for the return of tourists.
Service at the salad bar was difficult with the covid panels up.
Food was ok , just ok , service ok just Ik
Drinks were not as good as at the barefoot bar
Service was great, food even better. We always come to Dukes when visiting Kauai. Just love this place. Mahalo!
Good Good and good service. Though not much of a wine selection
What An amazing restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was marvelous. The food was delicious. And the service was outstanding.
It’s was good but I don’t get how they can overcook the veggie so badly.
Been here many times. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Kauai. Food is delicious & service is always greAt.
Outstanding service, good food, drinks were great, and the view and breeze in outside dining was perfect. Overall, it was a great start to our Kauai vacation.
caesar salad had no flavor, but the fish and chips were good. service was awesome!
Duke's is worth a visit each trip to an island. Great setting and lively staff. This time, though, two of us had the Baked Fish of the day (ono), that was delivered with the wrong texture, neither fresh nor baked well. Maybe it sat around too long over the holiday weekend.
Enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. Only negative was due to the restrictions we were unable to get a reasonable dinner hour, we had settle for a real early dinner due to tier restrictions.
Overall would recommend. Valet service was welcoming and warm. Hostess was a little frosty. Fried shrimp and calamari were excellent. Service was great. Macadamia crusted fish was world class. Fish tacos were very good. Great ambiance with ocean view and waterfall behind us.
Very fun atmosphere and the food was delicious. We had great waitstaff and food came out quickly.
Seems like it would be better to go early in the day as all the desserts and beers were tan out by dinner time.
Good food, great service and the salad bar is open.
Beautiful location, great service, mediocre food. Duke’s has always had great dinners- but $40/pp (drinks not included) for barely average, very limited brunch selections? Never again.
The menu on open table had no info on Saturday night prime rib and salad bar only. I asked to just have a slice of prime rib and was told ,no . you must have rib and salad bar. all you can eat, I"m not a big eater. OK I,ll have Fillet minion, I would like some green vegs with it , creamed corn is not green. I said 'ask the chef to go to the salad bar and grab some veges.' The dinner showed up with kale on the corn and mashed potatoes. Every one was happy with the dinner, the meat was good, thats the main thing. No happy birthday song.
Had a wonderful Lava Flow drink to start. So good! Found new yummy dinner, Teriyaki Kabobs with chicken & steak & veggies served with very tasty rice dish. Frank had his favorite mac crusted Mahi-Mahi and loved every bite. Salad bar delicious as always.
Excellent service, excellent food
Excellent salad bar. They served you this time (covid). We go at least a few times per year. A highlight every trip.
