Duane's Prime Steaks & Seafood Restaurant
The warm amber tones, sophisticated décor and art compliment the steak & seafood restaurant's central masterpiece, the Charge Up San Juan Hill painting.
This significant painting of Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders measures almost eight feet tall by six feet wide and is one of the largest paintings located at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa.
Service from Annette and Adrian was outstanding!!
Great food in a beautiful location. Friendly service. Highly recommend. We will be back again soon.
As always, great service, good food and extraordinary environment
Dinner at Duane’s was wonderful. Went with friends to start Christmas celebrations and we couldn’t have been more pleased. The holiday decor, service, ambiance, food and attention we received were all A+. It is pricey but well worth it for a special evening out.
Catalina is a fantastic server. Followed his recommendations on a few items and was not disappointed.
Special girl’s night out to kick off the Christmas season… Duane’s is the best!!! We always feel like royalty. Thank you to Annette for making everything wonderful!
Our server, Catalino was fantastic. He was very attentive throughout our meal.
Had a beautiful evening starting with the Festival of Lights, drinks, sumptuous dinner with lovely carolers as well. Perfect Christmas evening!
Proposed to my girlfriend yesterday, the wait staff was excellent, the food was top notch. We got the fillet and a New York strip. Both were delicious, it’s definitely a special occasion type restaurant. Gonna run you anywhere from $200-300, but it was well worth it. The truffle mac and cheese!!!! OMG. sooooo freaking good.
I had made a reservation at 9pm and arrived 10min prior. The host made us wait an additional 25-30min because apparently the tables were not "set up yet." Then, they sat us right at the entrance of the restaurant when there was plenty of sitting elsewhere inside the restaurant. When I made this reservation I marked that I was celebrating my anniversary (apparently special occasions don't mean anything to them) when I informed the server that I was celebrating my anniversary and that we wanted to order a special dessert, he stated that "because of a new manager they no longer serve desserts unless requested and paid for" I said no problem, bring us a flan. So he did, but didn't even bother writing anything on the plate because "the main cook had left for the day." Price and Money were not an issue here. I am upset at the fact of how unatentive and unconsiderate they were. First time and last time I will come to this place.
On Thanksgiving, me and three others dined at Duane’s to celebrate the holiday and my birthday. There was a prix fixe menu. I ordered the Filet Mignon to be cooked medium.
In prior Duane’s visits, I have ordered Filet Mignon that was cooked a perfect medium. Imagine my surprise when I cut into a steak that was rare. I notified wait staff who sent it back to the kitchen. When the wait staff returned the steak, they asked that I “check the steak”. I sliced into the opposite side of the steak and the middle was still rare. At that point, the steak was sent back to the kitchen a second time. This time I asked that they butterfly the steak.
By the time I received the corrected steak, the other three at the table had finished their main course and their plates had been removed. I took a few bites of steak and asked that the rest be boxed to go. Soon after, dessert was served. No mention of my birthday.
When the bill arrived, I received another surprise. There was no adjustment or concession for the twice returned Steak. $115. per person prix fixe menu charge ($460 + tax) and zero adjustment. The bill was paid as to not cause a scene in front of the other guests at the table.
As we were leaving the restaurant, I approached Mr. Mark Lamb, who was at the host stand, to privately discuss the matter. He advised that they do not make concessions for ‘under’ cooked steaks only ‘over’ cooked steaks. “Even if it is twice returned?”, I asked. He said, “Yes.”
Mr. Lamb made no effort to make it right either that evening or for a future visit as I asked that he would. He advised there was no way to provide a certificate for a future visit. Needless to say, I was disappointed in this level of service.
As a side note, wait staff never did bring my to go box to the table. I had to ask for it as I was leaving. When the waiter retrieved it, he chuckled and said it was sitting in the back and that someone would have likely taken it home since it was a full meal. Unprofessional.
Stellar service! Great food. Perfect for a special occasion
Food was pricey but excellent with great service and attention to detail.
It was such a great place to celebrate our anniversary!
We ordered a bottle of wine, the waitress brought the decanter and wine bottle but didn’t open it. it was about a half hour before she opened our bottle which should have been opened right away to aírate it. Apparently she was being trained.
Felt unwanted there
Good service, nice food. I was expecting romantic soft music band style. I think having a music will make the place more romantic.
Very disappointed. Had not been there in several years. Our experience in the past has always been excellent, not this time. Service was extremely slow. However, the servers were polite and friendly. I ordered a second glass of wine from the menu and twice the server tried to pour from wine from bottles that were empty and then had trouble finding a new bottle. Our main course was the filet mignon. We decided to add lobster tails to our meals for an additional $30 each. I laughed when they served them. They were the size of a crawdad. It took 3 hours to complete our dinner. It will be a very long time before we return, if at all.
Had a wonderful time for my moms 62nd birthday dinner. I would definitely recommend Duane’s it was fantastic.
I would have given all fives however, I never received my appetizer! It was fine dining . Even with the appetizer folly I still told all my teacher friends to try it on their next date night! The manager was nice and welcoming as well.
The food was fabulous as well as the service. Will certainly be back!
Amazing night out
Food, service and ambiance was great
The food and the service personnel could not have been better. I feel the management (manager) was terrible. The restaurant opened 10 mins late (5:10) and we had a reservation for 5:00. I thought this was very rude considering we could see some sort of meeting taking place and that you have a policy of having your customers be at there restaurant no later than 15 mins after reservation time. Our time is just as valuable as yours! I brought this to the attention of the manager and he was unapologetic, saying they were only 5 mins late, condescending and rude. How could I recommend this restaurant whose management does not respect the value of the customers time and is rude to them when dealing with conflict. He should not be managing.
Mario was excellent. Nick was awesome at the bar beforehand. Will be back.
It pains me to give Duane's only 3 stars, especially since we have had OUTSTANDING experiences in the past and it truly is one of our very favorite special occasion restaurants, but on this visit they were clearly lacking. I choose to blame COVID! I understand they lost their chef, but if so, then maybe adjust the $50-60 charge for most entrees instead of serving entrees that are not perfectly executed. Luckily, Mario our favorite waiter is still there and the decor has been maintained. Here are some of the issues that caused a 3 star rating. The caesar salad was not completely tossed and had minimal dressing. Most of the lettuce was undressed. The whitefish was plated with one piece on top of another, the top piece had been very heavily salted. The tomato was supposed to be roasted, instead it was unripened, not roasted and sliced too thickly (almost as if the person plating had no idea about presentation.) At one point we thought we had finished our bottle of wine since nothing was poured during the meal. We were there for a very special occasion. In the past, while not expected but always appreciated, there was always a beautiful treat at the end of the meal. This time it seemed as if that policy was discontinued, then at the last minute we were served a couple of strawberries sliced but not hulled with a glob of whipped cream mixed in on top of the stems. Again, someone in the kitchen who had no idea about plating, let alone cooking. It was very disappointing, mostly because we love this restaurant and now we don't feel we can trust the experience.
This place is amazing!!!! We have been to Morton's, Ruth's Chris, and Flemings, and this place outbeat all of them!
Best swordfish we’ve ever had
Fantastic personable service
Great service. Great Food. Great knowledge of Wines and pairing. Great experience.
Very classy service. Traditional wine presentation. Amazing wall art. Soft lighting. Smooth jazz tunes raining down from the ceiling. :-) Great food, cold wine, fun waiters and waitresses. Love it!
Our server Dean was amazing as well as the rest of the staff. Food was absolutely amazing! Escargot, lobster man and cheese as well as the rare filet mignon was out of this world!
The server and food was great, but with a reservation it took about 30 minutes to be seated and a very long time to receive our meals
We arrived on time for a 7pm rsvp. The hostess didn't seat us till 730pm after I walked up to ask when I seen 3 parties arrive after me and be seated right away. His excuse was there was "kitchen call-backs." No sense. Once inside, food and servers were great! Also, don't seat loud obnoxious couples literally RIGHT next to me when there was plenty of other seating. I could hear their conversation all night. Felt very distracting and unprofessional.
We had an Amazing time last night. Melodie was Fantastic! Thanks again for a Great night at The Mission Inn’
We had a very nice dinner, the only thing was the online menu had not been updated so we went in with knowing what we wanted but ended up having to change our decision and pricing was different, smaller portion for more money, I know that is due to our current times but the online menu should have been updated with current choices and current pricing.
Excellent dining experience. Took my wife there on our "date-night" and had the bone-in ribeye steak which was absolutely the bomb. The atmosphere was excellent and our service impeccable. Will surely be heading back soon!
Wonderful! Thank you! Food and service excellent.
Hadn’t been in years. We all loved it. Steaks cooked perfectly, service was on point. The bread was amazing. Bread pudding is a must. I had the lamb chops and I was not disappointed. Will frequent more often!
