Duane's Prime Steaks & Seafood Restaurant
The warm amber tones, sophisticated décor and art compliment the steak & seafood restaurant's central masterpiece, the Charge Up San Juan Hill painting.
This significant painting of Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders measures almost eight feet tall by six feet wide and is one of the largest paintings located at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa.
Friday & Saturday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm
It's always a great time when we dine at Duane's! The food is magnificent. The colossal shrimp appetizer is my favorite
Yummy food, worth the money.
This is our fourth time we have dined at Duane's. The first experience was phenomenal. From the food to the atmosphere, the entire experience was top notch. Then the next two years the food quality felt like it was lacking and the atmosphere was more like a chain restaurant instead of fine dinning. This last time I feel like the food quality was better and the atmosphere was more in line with our expectations.
Love this Place!! Can't get enough of this place. Very romantic and professional.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We celebrated an anniversary dinner and could not have asked for a better experience.
We were celebrating our 25th anniversary so we didn't mind the prices, but the food was definitely worth it. The steak was prepared to perfection, the salmon was so buttery it melted in your mouth. The sides were insane too, roasted balsamic brussel sprouts and the lemon risotto were so good! Our waiter Mario was great and very accommodating as well!
Yum! Everything was delicious . Staff was outstanding. Plates we’re generous .
We were so well taken care of by the entire staff. The food was the most excellent meal we've ever had. Thanks for making my husband's 70th birthday a special one.
The service was very poor and food was very mediocre. The restaurant was not crowded, they took an hit to take our order. The tempura lobster was over cooked. The lobster bisque had no lobster pieces. I don’t recommend this place. Please choose Fleming’s or Maestros.
From the time I entered The Historic Mission Inn Hotel and reveled in the magnificent lobby scenery then turned and made a bee-line to four diamond and Dirona awarded Duane's (named for the owner Duane Roberts) it was magic--try Wet-Aged USDA Prime Steaks.
Seated by Juliette and service by Richard, Roger and John. Service was top notch. Candlelight dinner was intriguing and many discussions imparting erudition occurred. Notice the "Rough Riders" artwork which beckons patrons inside for Golden Bacchus awarded wine.
The Lemon Risotto left a lingering ambrosial taste on my tongue and steak was reported superb. Since 1876 patrons have been dining here. Reserve, dine and experience Duane's for fine dining and decor suitable for royalty.
Excellently prepared food! High quality ingredients! Very polite and formal waitstaff! The steak Diane was AMAZING! The swordfish was juicy and flakey (not tough at all!). The honey garlic shrimp appetizer was PERFECTLY cooked! Highly recommend!
53rd Wedding Anniversary
Excellent food and exceptional service! I will be back time and time again : )
Overall very nice experience. Staff was professional and pleasant. My porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection, but was a little tough. I enjoyed the oysters and French onion soup.
Great experience overall. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or someone who wants to have a very nice dinner! John, the sommelier was amazing. Annette our server also was great. They both took care of us.
Love Duane's! Great for any occasion. Food is outstanding and service is impeccable.
Our wait staff was attentive even though our beverages sat empty for more than half of the meal. We were finally asked as they were clearing our plates for to go boxes.
The food was excellent, correct temperature and the presentation was beautiful.
Good food, great sommelier, nice atmosphere.
Like other reviews, it is pricey.
Had a wonderful experience at Duane's. The petite filet and jumbo shrimp was devine. Everything was.
Over rated. Over priced. Elegant atmosphere. Good service. The night we were there the restaurant was not at all crowded, staff was not over worked...however they failed to clear and reset the table next to us, leaving dirty dishes, beverages, etc. for more than an hour. Unusual for a restaurant striving to be world class.
Steak was outstanding and grilled to perfection. Service was ok and surroundings are fine. Overall was a good experience but a limited menu. Wine pushed was from owners vineyard in OR, not very good.
Food was excellent. Much better than when I was there a few years ago. The prices are extremely high, but a good place to go for a special occasion.
Service and food were both outstanding. Don’t judge by the picture I provided of the Rib Eye, we split a 16oz, portions a generous, the dinner salad filled a dinner size plate, not a small plate of bowl. Bother the baked potatoe and mashed/whipped potatoes were also generous sizes. The sufle dessert was phenomenal.
I frequently come for dinner and it's just absolutely delicious and amazing. In 5 years I have never been disappointed!
We went here for mother's day dinner, and the overall experience was somewhat disappointing. The service started out well, and the cocktails and Lobster Bisque were outstanding. The steaks were average, and the mashed potatoes and mushroom sides were a bit on the salty side. It also took forever to get our entrees, ~35 minutes after we finished our appetizers.
Celebrated Mother’s Day! We had a great time. Service was great.
Very beautiful setting. Like getting away to another country. So many things going on but the place is so large you would never know it. Great time. Beautiful place, I could stay there all day.
The service and the food were outstanding. I will definitely be back.
this was the first time we were disappointed in the quality of food...I think there was a new chef.
Food was AMAZING. Staff is very attentive, and friendly. A bit pricey but well worth it.
My sister and I stayed at the Mission Inn for a girl’s weekend and had dinner here. We wanted to splurge one night and have a really nice steak dinner. We were not disappointed! The filet was great! Very juicy and tender. The sides were good too. And we also shared the scallops. Everything was good. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion. Beautiful ambience. Great lighting and artwork on the walls. And excellent service.
We have only been there 3 times. This was the only time the food wasn't satisfactory. I ordered the seared Ahi Tuna. I guess I expected something lighter and BETTER tasting. It was brown in color with a brown sauce. Not that big of a deal BUT, it was so salty I could not eat it. I only ate about 3 bites and could not stomach eating anymore.
I told the waiter of the bad tasting Tuna. She advised me she would talk to the cook about it, so she took it back. I told her I didn't want anyone getting in trouble or anything.
I told her I didn't want to make a big deal about it. AND she didn't. The waitress didn't offer me anything to replace it, nor did she take it off the bill. So I paid almost $40 dollars for a piece of fish that was terrible tasting and it WASN'T taken off the bill.
I was actually kind of shocked that she literally didn't do ANYTHING to make it right. On top of it the bill came to around $275.00 and the TIP of course was based on something I didn't like or eat, WOW.
Just kinda shocked even the manager didn't come over and ask about anything. Disappointed once again.
I think the next time I want to take my wife to a romantic wedding anniversary dinner I will look elsewhere.
Please school your staff on how to make things right.
Great service by Annette. Wonderful food, great comfortable restaurant.
We go for the food and Annette who is awesome. Her service is among the best.
The Mission Inn has beautiful architecture and Duane's steak and seafood house really continue that theme in their restaurant. The ambience sets the tone for a nice romantic evening. All of the staff was extremely friendly and continuously attentive and the food was delicious. I would not recommend this to be a place for young kids but definitely a nice setting for a romantic date or getting drinks and great food with friends.
I loved everything except the brussel sprouts, which I was looking forward to. But the steak was like butter, I loved everything!
Duane's has been a destination restaurant for this carnivore for this side of forever. A long-postponed romantic dinner provided the perfect excuse. And we were not disappointed. My date had the scallops, which were succulent aquatic M&Ms that melted in her mouth. I had the N.Y. Strip that was very good. It wasn't the best steak I ever had, but it did have a nice, vibrant taste to it, one only slightly enhanced by the mushroom sauce. The Shrimp Caesar salad is a true keeper, featuring Cajun-seasoned shrimp that were the perfect enhancement and a Caesar dressing that will make you want to lick the plate.
Oh and the Chocolate Souffle? Run. Do not walk and order it, especially if you don't have a sweet tooth. It is simply The Perfect Dessert.
The wine list has a nice variety across the board, including some good red blends you don't often see. Yes, Duane's isn't for the faint-of-wallet, but it is only one of three AAA Four Diamond restaurants in Riverside County outside of the Coachella Valley and it earned its chops.
We were seated at a cozy little table and introduced to the entire serving staff at the beginning of the meal. The server was attentive and provided just enough conversation mixed with information regarding our choices at made the experience feel very intimate. Each course of our meal, exquisitely presented, was piping hot and came to the table at exactly the right time for the previous course to have settled. The portions were very generous and expertly seasoned. Of course, you get what you pay for, but be prepared to spend a bit for a great meal! It will go down as one of our more memorable meals over our 18 years together! Thanks Duane's!
The wait staff, the ambience and the food are spot on! Guessing the excessive corkage fee is to compensate for the sommelier who is a delightful gentleman with incredible wine knowledge without pretentious overtones. Enjoyed the evening, will do it again.
Service was awful and very, very slow. We sat down at 6:15, and left at 9:30. Of course, they had to cook my dinner twice. I was very disappointed in the entire experience. When I spoke to the man in charge of the dining room service, he started telling a story about coaching teenager's sports. Two people from our table just got up and left about 5 minutes into his story, which had nothing to do with anything. Obviously, he did not want to hear about the service, or just didn't care. I will not return.
