Understaffed, long wait times. Simplified menu. Simplified entrees. This was our first time back since the pandemic began. Looks like they have not recovered.
Fantastic Mothers Day brunch. Excellent food and service. Very nice ambience close to pool!
The food was amazing. The service was great. I ambiance was gorgeous. I enjoyed every minute of my visit.
Nice ambience. Great service and the food was tasty.
I wanted to like this place so much.
As a Dallas resident, I've been to this bar and pool, but always wanted to eat dinner here as it is consistently ranked as one of the best restaurants in Dallas.
I will say the food was good, except for the doneness of my burger. My friends got the poke bowl, which they both claim is the best they've ever had, with generous amounts of fresh tuna. I got the cheeseburger, bunless, and side salad. The dressing was fantastic, salad was fine, burger was very well seasoned and tender, but very overcooked. And strangely plated- not sitting on top of lettuce, but not wrapped in lettuce either.
I gave it a low score mostly for the lack of atmosphere and our weird server. (And the overcooked burger).
The place was totally empty when we got there at 6pm on a Tuesday, which isnt a major complaint, but it didnt help hide the dated decor.
Our server's personality was dry as cardboard, and we had multiple interactions with him that were just bizarre and not warm or friendly. Giving him our order felt strange, and he seemed unwelcoming to any questions.
At one point, a bird flew into the restaurant from the pool area through a door they left open, and we pointed that out to him, (since its against health code to have a bird flying around your restaurant). His reply was "yes, that happens.", and he walked away.
With all of the new restaurants opening in uptown/downtown Dallas, Im not in any hurry to return to Dragonfly. Maybe the atmosphere is better on a weekend.
Everything was perfect.
It’s a cool spot with a good atmosphere and ambience. Food was also above par for trendy brunch spots. Service was a joke though. Took 5 minutes at the front table for anyone to even greet us. Another 10-15 minutes for them to take drink orders when we sat down. It wasn’t all that busy, and everything else was top class, so it was definitely confusing.
Great time. Great vibe.
Never got to the full experience - had a reservation for 9:15 and was told the wait would be 45 - 1 hour. The attitude was cocky and offered to see if manager would approve of a free drink while standing in bar, which never materialized. We left for Georgies on Travis street which was fantastic.
'PERFECT' would summarize our experience at Dragonfly. Our waiter was fantastic -- we ordered drinks to start and they were perfectly balanced in flavor, generous in size. The appetizer with the lamb lollipop, salmon and deviled egg was OUT OF THIS WORLD in flavor. We also had a flatbread -- all were delicious, beautifully plated and service was attentive but not hovering. We were there on a Sunday night - so very chill vibe. Highly recommend!
Bad experience - went for brunch and they were
Out of expresso . Mimosa warm and mini portion.
It was a very great, live, progressive restaurant.
Our waiter was amazing!
Came in for Easter brunch. The meal was absolutely outstanding. Had the crabcake Benedict. Everything was to perfection. Servers were also wonderful with great personalities!
Wonderful meal. The only reason top stars were not given in all categories was because since we are in between seasons, the view of the pool had equipment and cushions stacked up. I would imagine once the pool is open, everything will be organized. Juan was an awesome server, good food and will be back!
Fun place! Great food and atmosphere.... nice place to hang.
Delayed Valentine celebration due to CV-19.
I'm sure it's no fault of the establishment due to every thing that was expired the past year. But this was the worst experience I've had here at dragonfly. No fault to the place but it's definitely lost it's spunk it use to have.
Amazing cocktails and food! Definitely will be back!
The service was very bad
The food was ok , I had better
For the price the good has to be better
Don't think I will be back
Dragonfly at Hotel ZaZa is one of my favorite lunch spots. It is usually quite, service is attentive and the food always awesome.
We had a party of 8 for my birthday dinner, and the restaurant was nice enough to accommodate our large group, even though the hotel was booked at capacity, and we couldn’t get a room. I was really looking forward to dinner, and had been planning a trip to The Dragonfly for over a year, so I was really excited to finally make it happen! Unfortunately, service at our table was terrible. I asked for a drink three times before asking another staff member. The table side experience was definitely sub par. After dinner, my husband and I relocated to the bar for a drink while we still had grandma on the clock as a babysitter, and we were pleasantly surprised with the bartender for the night. The hostess was also terrific. I might go back for drinks, or a casual dinner, but wouldn’t choose it for a special occasion again.
The fried chicken breast was delicious! We also had the calamari and Caesar salad. I would highly recommend it all.
Very nice experience. Was sat even though we were late to our reservation by 30 min. Oopsies! Great service. Great food. Strong drinks. Will return :-)
Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Great service and comfortable night out ambience.
Valentine’s Day dinner was amazing!!!
To sum up the experience it was completely forgettable. There weren’t many customers should have been the first clue, for a Valentine’s day weekend. The meal; I had the Red Fish, was ok, but nothing special. My date had the mussels, with the same opinion. 3 cocktails, and the bill approached $200. I enjoyed my $20 lunch at a local Italian restaurant earlier that day a lot more. I wouldn’t call it a bad experience, but I wouldn’t return or recommend it to anyone.
I have been coming to hotel Zaza for many years now and food has never been so mediocre as yesterday.
Way overpriced for the horrible soggy calamari (more jalapeños than squid).
I order my steak medium rare and my steak was alive. As a chef I would re-fire the order since I did not even try it but instead I got the same steak but now way over cooked sliced steak. So sad, it used to be a great restaurant.
We had a great meal and experience. We have eaten here a few times and it’s always top notch. Drinks were good, loved the calamari! We had the fish and steak and they were cooked to our liking. Waiter was awesome! DJ is there from 8 pm onward on weekends but it’s not loud at all. You barely notice it in a good way! We were afraid we would be yelling over the music all evening and not so. We will return next time in Dallas!
Excellent cocktails and small plates
Atmosphere was energetic, service was prompt and the food was excellent. I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly, my wife had the chicken and she loved it as well.
Although we were disappointed (but we totally understand) there was a limited menu due to COVID, our server, Tiff, was the BEST and made up for it. She was extremely personable and so much fun to have! We were celebrating our friend's birthday and she made sure we had a great time. We appreciated being in the wine room (I'm sure the other guests did too, we were having a great time in there). The host (I forgot his name, it was the gentleman with the sling on his arm) was also very helpful and even put the cake up for us upon arrival. We enjoyed our time there and will be back to see Tiff!
Aesthetically breathtaking with food and wines/cocktails that complement a diverse yet classic pallet. Will be back for sure!
Took my bestie on a date here. Fellas all I’m going to say the bar has been set. Pros| Zaza’s is a wonderful place to sit, dine, talk & drink! The drinks are pretty exotic🥂. Drinks are $15 ,however, they’re strong as hellll so you definitely get what you pay for! It’s December and with TX weather being indecisive, you get the best of both worlds dining inside and out. Also! If it’s too cold, they’ll turn the heaters on for you. Fire always spices it up a little! 🔥Con| while processing our payments, my BFF and I did a split transaction and their system went down charging both of our cards two incorrect amounts and taking a business day to issue a refund (not that this was something they could control) I thought that sharing this would be helpful for someone who isn’t one for surprises. Beyond that 4/5 👌🏽
Good food, good service. We were at the hotel celebrating my mom's birthday, and decided to eat dinner here. They brought a delicious s'mores dessert to sing happy birthday!
The cocktails were delicious and the service was impeccable.
Food and drinks were great.
I loved the strawberry pie cocktail. Everything else was meh.
Fabulous way to spend Thanksgiving. Meal and service were both extraordinary.
