Service was excellent. Food was to die for good, flavor and innovation wise. Unfortunately, our food was cold. It was Mother's Day, we had an early reservation 10:45 am and the Restsurant was 1/4 full. By 11:30, when our food finally arrived, they were 2/3 to 3/4 full ( meaning not full capacity by any means). Since all 4 dishes were cold ( barely above room temperature), I can only conclude the plates sat in the kitchen without a heat lamp for a long time. For that to happen when they are not full is sadly unacceptable. I don't think we will return.
Everything was overall amazing. It took awhile before the waiter came to greet our table. I actually had to go to the manager to say something. The manager apologized and gave us a complimentary bread basket and fruit. The food took awhile to also come out, but was amazing once it did. So, it made up for the flaws. Even though the service was a little lagging, the overall experience and quality of food wAs great. I will go back and give it another shot. I will chalk it up to it being Mother’s Day for service.
My experience was beautiful. I had the private dining room that seated 5 guest. It was perfect and my heart was so overjoyed with the setup for us. The food is always amazing and I am a vegetarian. The drinks are always on point and they have a fabulous wine selection. After dinner, you can enjoy a DJ and your friends by a beautiful pool.
For the type and price of the hotel and food within the restaurant, we were very disappointed. Taste and things not cooked properly for dinner was a big problem. Our server was amazing though...the drinks were outstanding...and the breakfast was much better.
With it not being very busy, the service for breakfast was a little slow...guest even had to get up and get their own coffee refill.
I was in Dallas Texas for the weekend and could not have received any better service elsewhere! Dragonfly at hotel Zaza is just unbelievable. The waiter was extremely informational, the bartenders were super friendly and the meal was delectable! I would highly recommend this place to all friends or family!
Great service, food and ambiance!
Good food, neat atmosphere. Would try again.
It was a group of 6 and we had a room to ourselves and that was lovely. The food was not impressive to me.
It was very good. Service was a little slow but I guess you shouldn't be in a hurry.
Dragonfly is one of my favorites...the food was great!
Very good ambience. Food was flavorful. A very good dining experience.
Eaten at Dragonfly many times. Food and service are always excellent!
The service was great, but the best part was the COFFEE. It was quite possibly the best coffee my friends and I had ever had. 2/6 of us did not really enjoy our food but everything else was wonderful. I would definitely go back again.
Perfect Experience!!!!! Will never forget my 40th Birthday!!! Great service...incredible staff.
The service and food quality was average for dinner. Our brunch the next day out by the pool was above average.
Wonderful - service top notch - food / wine a right price - fun drink specials
We always loved the place but this time most of the food came out on time and reasonable but the steak was cold. It was a little busy so the service was slow. Overall average for the value.
Loved it! This was my first visit. I will definitely be back. Chef Landsberg is amazing!
Dragonfly is nice restaurant with a great romantic atmosphere. The food was pretty good (though not quite worth the high cost). The waiter however was very obnoxious and took away from the overall experience. From the moment we sat down he gave us a pressure sales job about wine, salads and even the number of steak bites my girlfriend ordered. I know he's just trying to make a living but he could've been a little less obvious about the up-selling. After he realized that we not going to spend $400 on dinner tonight he kind of copped an attitude with us. At one point my girlfriend and I were discussing wine prices (one bottle was going for $450) when out of the blue he pops out of saying we can negotiate bottle prices. Seems like he was ease dropping on us. Turns out I only spent a $130 on dinner and drinks which obviously was very disappointing to our server.
I still recommend this place (the interior was beautiful, food was good) but be prepared for the hustle from the staff. I know it's located Uptown in Hotel ZaZa but not everybody who dines there makes six figures. I recommend that the staff treat middle class customers with the same respect as the fat cats who may dine there. Just my two cents.
Husband’s birthday weekend. The scallop dish I loved the time we went before was not as good this time. They were nice to replace it with something else. My husband had the lobster risotto and said it sounded better than it turned out to be. Service always good. We enjoy coming. Hope the food is better next time.
We was choosing dragonfly to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We waiting more than 30 min just to get the starters, all the other tables got the food after 5-10 min!! Then we wait 20 more min to get the main course and the food was cold!! We asked for salt and pepper-no one gave us,we finish to eat-no one clean the table or took the empty plates..the food was good, this is the only good thing that I can say about that place!!
Excellent service delivered with thoughtful and attentive care.
I was disappointed to discover when I got home that they added a $130 bottle of wine to my bill that we did not have. I was also disappointed that the server did not tell me gratuity was included and I accidentally double tipped them. We were only a party of five. I feel ripped off.
The food, our drinks and service we received was great. I will definitely add this to my list of favorite restaurants.
Wonderful dinner with friends! We had an excellent meal and the desserts were amazing!!
The service at Dragonfly is top-notch. We literally had 5 people waiting on us the entire time. Huge wine selection. We were originally seated in the back room next to a bachelorette party that was very noisy. The back room is more bright lighting and poor acoustics. The hostess graciously seated us in the main room, which has much better ambience and better acoustics. Everything we ate was superb. I am very very picky about restaurants and this was an excellent experience.
Food was outstanding so was the service, great place for brunch with the family or just with friends!
We had a wonderful dinner at Dragonfly on our17th anniversary- I had the striped bass and my wife had a ribeye steak. Both dinners were wonderful and I would highly recommend them for dinner. Our waiter Luis was a dream conversationalist and took very good care of us. Our bartender of whom we had just prior to sitting down for dinner was also extremely friendly and considerate. Her name was Maddie and she also took very good care of us on our anniversary. We have stayed is some very nice hotels, but this was the best by far in my book. You are treated like royalty if you are a pauper or a prince from what I saw at the hotel. What more can you ask of anyone than to be treated like you are part of the family.mThat is how we felt at Hotel ZaZa and Dragonfly.
The beef short rib was cold when it arrived at our table. Not lukewarm, cold. The taste was incredible but would have been 100x better if it was at least warm. It seems like it was forgotten and left out as the steaks our table ordered were cooked. No complaints about the steak, they were flawless. But very disappointed in the cold food. Additionally they kept turning the air conditioning off and on and off and on.. it would be hot one minute and freezing the next, there was no consistency. Finally, the waiter brought our check in a timely manner but it took another 30+ minutes to flag someone down to take the card and bring the receipt. Other than these issues and the loud bar which was a bit disruptive to our meal, we loved the food and experience
Photos of the dining area are deceiving. The dining area was small and next to the bar which forced patrons at the bar to spill out into the dining area. Meaning there were groups of people standing right next to the table you are trying to have a nice dinner at. The area was too loud to have a conversation without stretching the vocal cords. Other than that service and food were great. Wouldn't recommend to a friend . Just go down the street to Capitol Grille for a better experience.
The restaurant was extremely loud, dining tables were right next to the bar.
My wife and I had dinner at Dragonfly this weekend as part of a downtown Dallas weekend stay. First time for us to try this restaurant. Everything about the meal was fantastic. We showed up about 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated immediately. The restaurant has two sections - the front area that is open to the bar area (lively and packed) and a back area that is partially closed off. Our table was in the back area, which was very quiet - easy to talk. I had a Templeton Rye Manhattan and my wife ordered the Cool as a Cucumber. Both drinks were well mixed and balanced. Wine list is extensive, but we stuck with cocktails. We had the wedge and Texas mixed greens salads and then the 48 hour short ribs and the day's 5 oz filet special. All of it was fantastic, including the sides. My wife orders her steaks medium (doesn't like red, but still wants some pink) - it was cooked perfectly, which doesn't happen all that often. The ribs are served off the bone, most likely because they are so tender that the meat falls off the bone during prep. I cut mine with a fork - no knife required. Locally sourced ingredients result in very fresh taste. Add to all of that a waitstaff that was attentive, not overbearing, and a lot of fun. Overall, the entire night was terrific. We'll be back for sure.
Such a fun weekend for me to plan my uncle’s surprise birthday! Everything was wonderful. Only thing was I called and spoke with the concierge and told him since I was flying into town I had a delivery service delivering a cake, cheese and meats, wine and vodka. I asked it he could sign for it and out in our room and he said no problem. I even called back and asked the desk about showing an ID for the alcohol delivery. Not once did anyone mention they don’t allow outside food or drink in the room. Not until checkin when my uncle is now with me and I’m trying to surprise him. The manager tells me they did allow my food and 2 bottles of wine but not the Tito’s vodka. That’s all my uncle drinks so I ask if they can get me a bottle and put in the room super fast. He said no problem. I expect a massive upcharge from what I paid but seriously???? $450???? I couldn’t even dispute it because my uncle was there when they handed me the ticket. I will never again!!! They gave me my Tito’s and 2 bottles upon checkout that I couldn’t take bc we were flying with only carryon so thanks for that!
It was great!
Fantastic presentation. Ask for the separate dining room if you want quiet conversation as the bar dining area is fun but very loud. Food was fresh and plentiful minhada the scallops and friend had tortellini. Wine list was good and reasonable.
Will definitely visit again when I’m in town
Picking Dragonfly for NYE was THE best decision my friend and I made. The ambiance was great and the vegetarian tortellini dish was AMAZING!! Our waiter was Chris and he provided Stellar service the entire evening. I would most definitely dine here again as well as recommend to friends.
My husband and I were so impressed with everything, especially for a busy NYE event. The staff worked together like a well oiled machine. Managers, wait staff and security were amazing - spot on! Their work was definitely cut out for them dealing with the complexity of a NYE crowd. The food was amazing too! Thank you for making it such a fun night. I'm glad I decided weather the cold to spend my night at Dragonfly/ZaZa. You all ROCK!
My girlfriend and I had an amazing NYE dinner. The food was delicious and the ambience was just right. A must try for sure. We enjoyed the Chicken Fried Lobster tail & small filet- Scrumptious!
My boyfriend and I are here for New Years. Food was NOT good. We had the lamb lollipops as an appetizer and they were so tough you could barely get the meat off the bone. We also got the pork belly, the meat was better but it was so lathered in peanuts and a thick sweat sauce that it completely lost its flavor. By the time my entree, Duck, came out I had completely lost my appetite. It was also lathered in a nauseating sweet sauce and I could barely eat it. My boyfriend got the steak off of the specials menu, I’m not sure how you mess up a steak but round of applause because Dragonfly managed it. Would also like to mention that when we arrived we were placed at a tiny table that looked like it had been set up to handle overflow. The chairs were so rickety that they swayed at the slightest movement and the table was not in much better shape!
Value was definitely not worth the price for this meal. It seems the Dragonfly thinks they can get away with not serving quality food and simply living off the novelty of the venue. Thank God we bought a nice bottle of wine that helped us make it through the meal. Would not eat here again, nothing worse than paying $300 for a meal you regret eating.
