Double Nickel Steak House
New York Strip - 16 oz
Skewered with filet mignon, green & red pepper, onion and drizzled with our red wine reduction sauce
Definetely the best place for a date night. The food was perfect! The menu full of options. Thank you for a great dinner!
Very expensive for what you got
Food and service was great! Would recommend highly!
Great food, perfect place to take customers where you can have a great steak and quiet enough for good discussion.
Steak was taken back because not cooked medium as ordered. Steak came back again was still blood red. I’m sure it was just a bad night. Food has always been excellent previously.
Food was excellent! Very nice experience Cant wait to try it again the next time I’m in town.
Great place to eat! Such great food and friendly employees. Very clean! The only downside was that our server had a large group of people to tend to so we were kind of put on the back burner and it took forever to get anything we ordered. I’d like to think that this isn’t always the case because he was still very friendly and the food was amazing!
The whole experience was amazing! Food, staff, ambiance all were outstanding!!
Very knowledgeable staff. Server was attentive but not overbearing. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Ribeye steak cooked perfectly medium.
We had a wonderful time at Double Nickle. The only issue I ever have there is they struggle to get a filet done medium. Medium rare seems to be the best they can do unless they butterfly the filet. It isn't a deal breaker for me, but want other guests to be aware.
The flavor of the foods, service and ambiance are always phenomenal which is what makes Double Nickle my go-to for a nice meal.
Great food, always a good experience whether it is a personal or business dining occasion. Attentive staff, attention to detail. Highly recommend the Double Nickel
Food was okay, appetizers definitely overpriced for what you pay. Steaks took forever to come out as well, not cooked to order.
The ribeye was tough crab cakes were good and was great
Wow unbelievable service. Glad we went there.
Ordered rib eye. Was good but I think a little overpriced but I guess paying for service and ambience
Steaks were good. Wine was very overpriced. Chicken was very tough.
The waitstaff was very polite, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was following all Covid protocol while still maintaining a warm atmosphere. The lobster bisque was delicious and everything else we had was cooked perfectly. We will visit them again the next time we are in Lubbock.
Great food and great, Quick’s service! One of our new favs!
Good food. Lack of attention to orders and drink orders.
I was really excited to try this place for our anniversary. I have herd it’s fantastic and worth the money.
Our food definitely wasn’t worth $50 per plate. Appetizer was not great at all. We probably won’t go back. $200 for a night out was a splurge for us and the food didn’t live up to the hype.
Always amazing!! Service and food were impeccable.
The Double Nickel is the epitome of perfection and consistency. We are regular customers that drive 2 hours from Midland, Texas to Lubbock for the sole reason to eat at the Double Nickel. The Manager is among the best in the business and the food is always spot on. We share our experience with friends and business associates back in Midland. An average of 2-3 folks a month take our advice and travel to Lubbock to eat at the Double Nickel.. We have yet to have someone come back with any complaints whatsoever. In fact, they too make it a regular visit on their list of restaurants each month from then on. This is a “bucket list” steak house, spoil yourself and make the trip to the Double Nickel.
Hands down this is our Favorite place to celebrate any occasion .. when I say we tell everybody. We tell EVERYBODY ! We celebrated 17yrs of marriage with one of our favorite couples to be around .... food was excellent as always no complaints there what so ever.
They never disappoint in that area ... our server was just little off that night and I get we all have Bad days. It just must have been one for him we sat and watched several customers who came in way after us get there stuff before us ... appetizers drinks pretty much everything ... even watched another table get up and complain ... again we understand the young man must have been having a bad evening. So we choose not to.... we will defiantly be back no doubt about it it’s still our #1 choice
I ordered a small ribeye. A filet was brought out. I offered to keep it instead of them having to cook another steak. Manager came over apologized. When I got my bill I was charged for a large filet. I thought I did them a favor in not wasting a steak. I consider that poor customer service.
Good steak but otherwise limited menu. Service could use some help. Cheaper than Las Brisas, but we prefer Las Brisas due to their better menu selection, comparable steaks, and better service.
While traveling through west Texas, my husband and I specifically looked for a steakhouse thinking that being in the heart of Texas cattle country we would find a delicious steak. The atmosphere was nice - consistent with what you would expect for classic Texas ranch style. The meat, however, came from Idaho which was a bit disappointing but would have been fine had it been good. My husband had a filet and I had a ribeye and we were VERy disappointed. My ribeye was one of the most chewy pieces of meat I have had in any restaurant, let alone a relatively expensive Texas steakhouse. My husband’s filet was ok but again not worth the money.
Double Nickel is definitely a special occasion place. There are other places with food, ambiance and service just as good, but the price alone sets it in a class of it's own.
Best steak house in Lubbock. Fantastic Service, Fantastic Food!
Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, excellent service!
The server was nice, but had to be reminded several times for drink reorders or missing items. The 2 of our 3 steaks were great. My daughters steak was slightly over cooked. The biggest let down we had was that my husbands steak was delivered to the wrong table so he sat through our entire meal without his food. He had to eat his whole meal after we were completely done. The manager did come over and discuss it with us and his offering was to comp the $3.75 beer my husband was drinking. While we didn’t expect the steak comped, maybe comping one of my $14 glasses of wine would have been a more meaningful gesture. I think for what we paid, the experience/service should have been much better than what we got. Not sure if we will return.
It took one and half hours to get our food after we ordered. We were not allowed to see the wine list due to Covid restrictions, totally ridiculous. We ordered a bottle of wine based on the server's recommendation. Terrible service throughout.
Steaks were juicy, tasty, tender and perfectly cooked. Could use some smaller cuts for ribeyes and strips.
Our waiter was awesome as all of the waiters are there and we had such a good meal with the filet kabob and the lobster bisque
May be back next Monday for date night
Great experience! Took the wife here for our 7th anniversary because we had always wanted to go. Very nice atmosphere and great food. It is pricey, but I felt it was worth it. Service was terrific too, and it was nice and quiet so we could enjoy our conversation.
We had a great Anniversary dinner at Double Nickel. The food was wonderful and Avery did a great job taking care of us. He’s a very knowledgeable waiter.
It was amazing that things have changed as they have due to the pandemic. The food and service were as they always have been. The starkness of the Restraunt was a shock but done well. I think they are dealing with all of this in the best way possible and the food quality has not suffered.
Had our date night/ anniversary here and the service was great and the food was amazing; it had so much flavor!
This is a must if your in lubbock and love steak and a great ambience! The staff is incredible and the food is amazing!!
Our experience was great as usual! We travel an hour and half to get there and it is well worth it!
Third time we’ve eaten here in 3 years. Always for our anniversary.
Outstanding every time!!!
Worth every penny!!!!
We had a wonderful time with great food and service! The steaks were delicious as well as the bacon-wrapped shrimp. The lemon drop martinis are to die for, so make sure you order one!
