My wife and I were truly surprised. Living in Bridgehampton we have visited a lot of places but I Have to say everything was perfect. Grandma's Meatballs are a must try along with the Prosciutto crostini. Excellent service and cocktails!

We went early, so the place was fairly quiet, and we sat out on the back porch It gets very noisy later, but has a good music scene (although not live). Food and service was very good. Downside was they were out of several items, which shouldn't happen on early dinners.

We have dined here twice and both times have found the food fantastic and the service excellent. The artichoke starter is incredible and the Branzino was just delicious. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and helpful. This is now our go to restaurant in Sag Harbor.

We decided to go out last minute and ended up at Doppio, happy to discover a new base. Calamari nice and crispy, two salads full and fresh. Tuna Tartar well received as was veal milanese, bruschetta, chicken all were happy selections. I was glad we tried it, the waitress was keeping an eye on us (which is great when you are worried that service might be sketchy) and only complaint was that they crank music up in the bar up front to dumb levels -- there were only 8 people in the bar. Go and try it. The food is quite good. But sit as far back as you can, away from the bar.

We'd never been but the restaurant had availability on a Saturday night and we were looking for something new. Beautiful space, great service, and the food was wonderful. Interesting menu, well prepared meals - highly recommend. We'll be back.

The waiter was nice but had no idea about the menu and we got our appetizers after 40 minutes. They had no excuse. Oysters aren't cooked and it was early.....no excuse. Main dishes were covered in salty sauces. It might close if this continues.

We went to Doppio for dinner one night and loved it so much we returned for lunch the next day. The food is AMAZING. Simple, authentic Italian cuisine done right! We have tried the Branzino: excellent flavor, and I was quite happy with the portion size. My husband had the skirt steak for dinner; he said it was even better than some filet mignons he has had made by 5 star michelin chefs. When we went back for lunch we shared a couple of appetizers; the PROSCIUTTO CROSTINI was so good, the BURRATA is from Murray's in the city, so you cannot go wrong there...but most notable of all was the FRIED ARTICHOKES. They were the best thing I've eaten in a while. YOU HAVE TO GO TO DOPPIO JUST FOR THESE! The last thing we ate was the whole lobster, and let me tell you it was out of this world. They give you both claws, the tail, and a plethora of meat that is mixed with a lump crab stuffing, and this was hands down the best lobster I've had in the Hamptons. Normally I don't review service, because I always expect something less than par. . I went there last year and I got what I expected: sub-par.BUT Doppio really knew what they were doing when they hired their service staff this summer. Erica and David took such amazing care of us, left us wanting for nothing, and even went above and beyond by shutting the doors when I was cold without me even asking. I guess they were just paying attention. We stopped off at the bar for a cocktail one night, and their new bartender, William, made us the tastiest Bloody Mary and engaged in conversation with us. A man who I am assuming to be their maitre d' and a really cute girl named Irina also came over to the bar to join the conversation, and it was just SUCH a lovely experience all the way through. I could not be happier with Doppio in Sag Harbor. Both my husband and I left full, satisfied, and feeling like family... MEMORABLE for both its food and service, don't miss out on Doppio this summer- right at the end of Main Street!

The mushroom pasta is the only good one . Do not order the fusilli with meat sauce . Tasted out of a jar . The Bronzino was small . Had much better for price . We ordered a appetizer of pasta that waiter didn't think he could do . They charge 4 dollars less for half the portion! Three pasta dishes no offers for grated cheese or pepper . Now I no why it was empty and all the other places were packed 👎

It is a shame that the chef does such a great job as his efforts do not justify notable absent service. Once we had ordered dinner our server did not come back one time to speak with us except to drop off our check and note, "Remember when you got here and it was empty?" Well, we did and thereby were surprised by the considerable lack of service. On our way out the door we also walked past about 6 other employees of the restaurant and not a single one even mentioned a thanks.

We were greeted by a wonderful host and there is where the service ended. Wait staff is terrible. Not to be found. Apps and entrees were good. Coffee watered down horrible and dessert was dried out.

Doppio began the evening with the cardinal sin of making us wait for 25 minutes after arriving on time for our reservation and compounded that transgression by bombarding us with deafening music while we cooled our heels in the bar. But once we made it to our table, everything turned around, and we enjoyed a fine meal and attentive service. We'll be happy to return and can only hope the next time we will be received with greater care and enjoy a truly memorable meal.

We ate at Doppio yesterday and it was one of the workst eating experiences I have had in years. It is a restaurent with absolutely no worthwhile , redeeming features. The food was mediocre at best. Doppio had already run out of salmon, by 7PM. No substitute or special replacement despite an already limitied menu. When we asked for a sideorder substitute side we were told The chef doesn't do changes when the retaurant is busy. This with 8 empty tables. It took 1 and 1/2 hours for the entrees to come. When we complained, thewaiter suggested it was our fault for asking to have the chicken cooked through. No apology, no offer of anything to appease an obviously unhappy table. And it was rarewhen it finally arrived. A fiasco.

This is the 2nd time we have gone to this restaurant. The 1st time, they screwed up our ressie 3 times. We figured we would try again. BAD IDEA. This restaurant belongs in Hampton Bays, not beautiful Sag Harbor. LOUD music, LOUD youthful bar scene, HORRENDOUS service. We never got our 1st round of drinks until after we got our appetizers. The hostess told me that they "were too busy" and had no idea who my waitress was and continued to make excuses. The waitress seemed knowledgeable about the menu and wines, but then pretty much forgot about us the rest of the night. Food was good, but wasted on everything else being bad. I had to ask for the check three times before they actually brought it. Couldn't wait to leave.

Unfortunately, this one just won't last without a major turnaround. One server to take food orders, one server for drinks, and a zillion bus boys. The drinks server appeared once and never came back till the very end of our entrees, even though there were empty glasses and we definitely wanted to order another round. The server appeared, told us of specials, numerous changes to the menu, and then stopped by for about 3 seconds before we touched our salads, never to be seen again till the end of the night. I ordered a kale ceasar salad, but instead of kale, it was some sort of mixed greens. I ordered the mussels - they were the size of lima beans. So tiny! Went to the American Hotel for dessert b/c we were all still hungry!

I've never had an experience like this at a restaurant before. When we started to order our wine from the list on the back of the menu the waiter informed us not to use that list - it was old. OK. Then we asked about the preparation of the salmon dish on the menu. He told us the preparation had changed; no longer prepared with bacon; all other ingredients listed remained the same. We ordered 3 salmons in group of 6. Salmon arrived prepared completely differently than what was described on the menu. Waiter apologized and blamed it on hostess for giving out old menus. The manager came over and she told us that they had run out of "new" menus at 7:15pm and that they had to use their "old" menus. Huh??? Need to buy a new printer??

I read some conflicting reviews about Doppio East, most praising the food and criticizing the service and noise level. The food was really delicious. There's a good cocktail list which I appreciate as I'm not a wine drinker. The bar was initially pretty empty for a saturday night and the music WAS deafening. We were offered a table on the back patio which we thought was lovely and not loud at all. There are only a handful of tables and they do share the space with a service station. We found the service to be perfectly capable if a little casual, with two different waiters attending us and quite a few different busboys. By the time we left, around 9pm, the place was very busy and every table filled.

We went for lunch and the food is nothing special. More irritating, the dishes we were served were not as described on the menu. I ordered the Cavatelli with lamb sausage and broccolini; it arrived without any broccolini and the meat also didn't taste like lamb. When we questioned the waiter about the absence of broccolini, it turned out he didn't know what broccolini is and we then had to describe it to him. He said he'd check with the kitchen but never returned. My husband's sandwich was supposed to come with fries or mixed greens (he wasn't asked which he'd prefer) and he received neither. We won't be giving this place a second chance.

Nice new place in Sag Harbor. Very vibrant and fun atmosphere. Our meal was very good. Solid service by our waitress. In a town with not so good food and worse yet places with not so friendly hosts, plus lots of people thinking there is great food and service around, this is a nice treat. Hoping it stays successful.

Staff needs to improve service. We had to ask for bread at least 4 times before getting served. We waited for over an hour for our dinner, waitress never came to check or let us know what was going on. When we finally saw her and asked when our dinner was coming she said as soon as possible. There were 4 of us and we walked out.
